“You stand at the ship’s prow, surveying the seas before you with the wind in your hair and the sun on your back. You close your eyes for a moment, enjoying the sensation, but your meditation is disturbed by a cry from the crow’s nest, a shout whose words are lost to you in the beating of the wind.

You glance to the top of the mainmast to see the barrelman hunched over the side of his post, pale with fear. You follow his gaze towards a shape in the distance – a great shadow moving beneath the waves.

The crew falls silent as the figure begins to move towards the ship, several of those around you nervously eyeing the cannons. You watch as it sinks into the abyss and disappears, and all is still for a moment, just long enough that it seems the threat is passed. Several of the crew breathe a sigh of relief, but their celebrations are cut short as great writing tentacles lurch forth from the depths and constrict around the ship’s hull, splintering wood as the creature tries to drag you to a watery grave.”

Brig is a 34×30 map of a two-masted sailing vessel, perfect for seafaring and swashbuckling adventures! The ship comes with sails furled and unfurled, laden with cannons or simply ferrying cargo, and with a few other variant elements besides, including an empty variant you can decorate yourself!

This map, as usual, comes with a number of tiles to adjust the encounter to your needs, as well as standalone versions of the ship (including an empty variant) if you’d like to use it in your own scenes, and has been set up with walls, lighting, and interactive tiles in our Foundry VTT module.
