Shouts erupt from outside the villa. Before you can process what’s happening, the doors crash inward with a bang. Soldiers flood in, automatic rifles raised. Red laser sights slice through the room, scanning the space in glowing lines. The beams hover, locking onto Dr. Crichton.
Something about the way Xander looked told you things were about to go wrong, but you and Siena were ready. Without hesitation, she snaps up her submachine gun, the barrel aimed at the commandos, while the rest of the group scrambles for cover. Bullets tear through the air, slicing across the room in bursts. Glass shatters, shards scattering across the floor, while bullets thud into walls and furniture. You rush behind a heavy bookcase as a bullet flies past your head.
The room explodes into chaos. The men in black scatter, ducking behind furniture as they return fire with their pistols. The commandos at the villa's entrance fire into every corner. A few rush forward, darting inside, seeking cover behind the walls and columns of the villa.
"Take cover! Protect Dr. Crichton!" one of the men in black shouts, firing off shots at the advancing commandos. A bullet whizzes through the air, striking Dr Crichton in the shoulder, spraying blood. She drops to the ground, falling behind the couch.
