Welcome to my 81st newsletter!

As of the time of this writing, I am on vacation. I haven’t gone far from home, just to Atlantic City, but at least it’s a few days of rest. Since I always try to complete my deadlines each month, I worked extra hard in the first half of the month to write a significant amount of content. When I set deadlines for myself, I stick to them and account for any time off by pushing myself a little harder on the days I’m working.

I’ve been working primarily on Safe Haven this month, though I have spent some time on Stronghold. I’ll talk about each of them, along with a discussion on romance in the game. That’s always a popular topic.

Let’s get started.

Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 4

Part 4 is 585,000 words, with over 19,000 words added this month! I’m targeting an additional 3,000-4,000 words by the end of the month.

This month, I am writing a scavenging trip to an abandoned campground about an hour from the junkyard. If Parker or Kelly is in the group, they approach you about the trip. You still can invite either or both of them. You could also solo this trip, though it will be slightly more challenging.

This is also a huge trip to take with Kelly if you are in a romantic relationship with her. There will be lots of flirting and intimate contact. There will be numerous scenes of physical intimacy. Everyone is interested in romantic content, so I’m trying to increase the amount in Part 4.

I have also been expanding the amount of romantic content overall. I don’t mean just romantic encounters or scenes of sex but challenges and conflicts typical to people in relationships. For example, does your partner agree with how you spend time at the junkyard? Are you spending enough time with them? Are you flirting with someone else? These scenarios could pressure the relationship, and you must balance how you handle them with your everyday struggle to survive.

Zombie Exodus: Stronghold

I am still working on chapter 4, which is the most intensive chapter to date and likely will be for a while. Your character can choose from several paths to travel through the fortress. Each path has different encounters and other characters you may meet. When I release chapter 4 to the demo, I recommend trying all the various paths to see the impact on the story.
