Outbreak Scenario 5
Added 2023-12-02 18:01:04 +0000 UTCSix months into the outbreak, your group has managed to carve out a semblance of survival in the chaos. However, a constant threat looms from the Ravens, a hostile group known for their ruthless tactics and control over key resources in the area.
One evening, as the sun dips below the horizon, a figure emerges from the treeline. It's a woman, visibly exhausted, her eyes darting around as if expecting pursuit at any moment. She introduces herself as Ava, a member of the Ravens.
Ava reveals that she's disillusioned with the Ravens' brutality and wants to defect. In her possession are detailed plans of an imminent attack on your group. Ava offers this information in exchange for protection and a place among your people.
The revelation sends a ripple of unease through your group. The Ravens have been a thorn in your side, and their impending assault poses a serious threat. Ava's information could be a game-changer, but it's equally possible that she's a spy sent to sow discord or trap you in a false sense of security.
What do you do?
Trust and Shelter Ava: Welcome Ava into your group, using her information to prepare and defend against the Ravens' attack.
Conditional Trust: Agree to use Ava's information while keeping her under close watch, not fully integrated into the group yet.
Use and Abandon: Take Ava's information and use it to your advantage, but abandon her afterwards to avoid any potential risk.
Double Play: Pretend to accept Ava's offer, but secretly prepare an ambush for the Ravens, using her as bait.
Straight Rejection: Dismiss Ava and her offer, strengthening your defenses without relying on potentially deceptive intel.
Comments
I'd go for a step below conditional trust. I'd lock her up, out of sight, and work on defence and offence of our group. If her info plays out the way she says, then I'd upgrade her to conditional trust.
