The initial silence tricks you into assuming it's a wrong number or a prank.

Just as you're poised to shut it off, a voice you vaguely recognize breaks through: Timothy. "Hey. Hoping things are okay on your end." Each word seems a struggle, as if talking to you isn't easy.

"I know splitting up was the call, but my circumstances have shifted. I'd like us to chat face-to-face and find common ground. Otherwise…well, let's talk it through."

As if baby concerns weren't enough, life tacks on another twist, stirring a mixture of emotions. The two of you were stupid enough not to use protection, and part of that's on you. However, as soon as you told Tim you were pregnant, he decided this was no longer the best relationship for him. No matter how much you argued that you need his support, he wouldn't listen.
