General Content Poll
Added 2021-08-12 16:59:27 +0000 UTCI have seen on multiple platforms (Reddit, CoG forums, Discord) how fans of choice games prefer different types of games depending on the platform. I'm sure many of you buy official games from Choice of Games, Hearts Choice games, fan made games by Hosted Games, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) games. I'm wondering which of these types of games you prefer.
Also if you would like to share your reasons for your choice, please do so in the comments below. Your reasons interest me greatly.

I've actually thought about this question a lot over in the past and have come to the following opinions. I feel while most COG games are at least good quality and fairly entertaining, some Hosted Games are of great quality and kind of take the genre of interactive story telling in new directions....that said some Hosted Games are of much lower quality. Hearts Choice has a lot of potential but so far it is very niche on who will like what content and production seems to be stalled out a bit.

2021-08-12 20:50:07 +0000 UTCI do like hearts choice if they can come up with new stories. I do like choice of games but they really need to spread their genres and Verizon‘s of different books. Hosted games I like the most but I do like looking at working in progresses especially if they have a great description because there was this one book that I was hoping that would be continued but unfortunately it wouldn’t. It was called the lens of glass I think???

2021-08-12 18:56:51 +0000 UTCI prefer Hosted Games. I like how in their games, the gameplay is open while the story is linear. Another thing I like is difficulty settings so you can experiment more.

2021-08-12 17:09:04 +0000 UTCCurrently, I prefer Heart's Choice as I am not a fan of magical, mystical and dangers lurking in space tropes, which seems to be 90% of HG and CoG. Everything seems to be wizards and faeries and, I'm sure they are very well written, I can't get past my dislike for the genre to read them. Not to say I haven't come across a few gems, like Tin Star, Zombie Exodus and A Wise Use of Time for example 😁, but as most of everything on HG and CoG is the genres I dislike, I only browse their libraries three or four times a year. In the case of Heart's Choice, I look almost every week for new content or to reread my favourites.
