Vehicles in ZE: Safe Haven
Added 2020-12-09 17:17:14 +0000 UTCI am working on the repair and upgrade options for vehicles in Part 3. You will be able to repair and upgrade vehicles using the garage in the Junkyard. So far I am working on these options:
1. Fixing vehicles to 100% health.
2. Upgrading the armor.
3. Upgrading the maneuverability/handling.
4. Adding a turret to the roof to allow a passenger to shoot a ranged weapon.
Please realize this is a lot of coding, though I feel it is necessary to devote the time and effort to this part of the game. I'd like your impressions on other things to add, though I will have to be highly selective about those additions so I can factor in additional time of development.
Comments
1. Maybe some type of run flats and armor for engine compartment as I'd be just as worried about that as gunfire to to the passenger compartment. 2. Reserve fuel tanks to increase range for missions. I know it could be a rabbit hole for you Jim, but a mission that changes based on if you can reach the destination in a vehicle or run out of fuel and have to complete it on foot or scavenge for fuel could be sweet.

2020-12-09 18:44:51 +0000 UTCJust a sunroof could be an in between the turret and nothing or embrasures that make it easier to shoot out of a vehicle. An electric car might be interesting if we have solar panels to charge it to reduce the need to find gas. Plus it's much quieter. Maybe making them more or less comfortable having an impact on fatigue/stress. Since Madison and Brody wanted the comfy vehicles, maybe there is an explicit benefit so their ideas have merit? Comfy/smooth rides would also be easier to shoot from since they're more stable. Storage capacity could also be explicitly factored in.
