Getting Proggy in Belgium

Hello Humans,

Happy New Year! It’s my first post of 2025.

I feel fresh as the snow outside! Well, sort of.

Maybe if the snow was a grubby and living inside a snuggy?

The year has begun with a huge creative burst - Crimson Veil are currently residing in the town of Silly (yes, Silly) where Anna now lives, and taken over a music venue (Le Salon) to write our follow up to our 2024 album, HEX.

Entitled Eudaimonia, we are here to write and record the structural parts to the songs (mostly drums) so we can then each work remotely, recording to bring the album to completion.

It’s quite a process - the songs are long, with multiple sections. We go over each part many times, making sure it’s got what it needs in terms of rhythm, groove and momentum before moving onto the next section.

It’s chilly but we’re keeping cosy, staying right around the corner from our residency.

I must say it’s been very fun.

I feel like when I’m writing this kind of music I am tapping into a higher version of myself. The songs flow and come together like beautiful tapestries, the drums adding this dark and driving edge.

This is by far the best music we’ve ever written as a group. I know you're gonna love it.
