'Truth' - new song from Paper Lung

However, today only on Patreon we have released another brand new song: Truth.

This is like the sister of Finish Line from our previous EP Mankind. A big spacious, piano soundscape without a regular structure to it.

The piano chords are vast and devastating, with a touch of gospel blues.

I love getting lost in songs like this, especially when Georgia’s vocals are so delicate and held back.

Chris Stagg’s production make’s it sound like a forgotten piece of cracking vinyl left on a shelf somewhere. It’s sad, majestic and keeps returning you to the home key with a longing that remains after the song is over.

In Georgia’s words:

“Lyrics in this one are about a person's inability to stop their thoughts from spiralling out of control and creating problems for themselves and everyone around them. The sentiment is a sort of exhaustion from trying to help and support this person, all help feeling lost on them and their incessant need to create chaos.”
