Huge Announcement! All is unveiled.

To my dearest patrons,

It was so lovely to see so many of you last night despite the super short notice. Thank you as always for making me feel so supported and part of a community that I can rely on time and time again. Thank you.

To those who couldn’t make it, I apologise. Please watch/listen to the video for the full explanation and I’ll do my best to write it all up below…

CRIMSON VEIL BEGINS

This new venture may be our biggest one yet… as you might have guessed already, we have been offered a record deal.

This all started with Frank (the guy at the bottom of the Birdeatsbaby sandwich). He is the manager of LORDI and runs a huge worldwide booking agency.

We have been in communication since 2018, emailing backwards and forwards to see if we could work together. 

He’s a lovely guy, a fellow vegan and music lover, we hit it off instantly.

In 2022 we finally met in person and he expressed interested in helping the band get to the next level.

After holding on for several months and attending meetings in the UK and Germany he announced that he had found us a really good label, and a really good deal.

The label is called REIGNING PHOENIX, go look it up. It’s home to some of our favourite bands, namely Opeth, Meshuggah and more. 

It’s going to be exciting to join such a huge team of people who really know the industry and are able to help us with things that we could never do as an independent band.

WHY THE BAND NAME CHANGE?

Although the label loved Birdeatsbaby, (the director is a huge fan) they said that giving this new project a fresh name would be more sensible, as the music we’re making now is so very different from the early days of Here She Comes-a-Tumblin’. 

The label want to be able to promote us within the current metal/rock scene and they can’t do that with our back catalogue. 

So, CRIMSON VEIL is the name we’ve decided on. 

It’s dark, ethereal, occult and mysterious, much like the music we are making for our debut record HEX.

It is the same lineup, same vision just under a brand new name.

WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH BIRDEATSBABY?

So, Birdeatsbaby is NOT ending. Just to reassure you, this project is a new project, see it as a new feather on our wing (see what I did there?). 🤭

We will need to focus a little more on our new venture over the next year or so to get it setup and running, but ultimately Birdeatsbaby is now free to be the piano driven orchestral rock band it’s always been and Crimson Veil can take over the heavier side of things.

I still plan on writing for BOTH projects, this just makes it so much easier to go forwards.

The other good thing about keeping Birdeatsbaby separate is that we will still own all the rights to the music from the last 17 years and be able play and perform as that band when we choose to. 

It keeps all that music, and the years of work we put into it, safe.

LIVE SHOWS?

Yes! The most exciting thing about this happening is that we will finally be able to tour again!! We haven’t been able to tour since 2019, so I can’t wait to get back on the road.

Our first tour is opening for LORDI (wahhh!!) at the end of March in France and UK, and we will be playing some BIG venues 😃 and I hope to see some of you in the near future if not on this tour then all the tours to come.

WHAT ABOUT PATREON?

Patreon is absolutely continuing. 

I love this group and never want to stop creating art here.

As I explain in the video I will be upgrading the tiers to make the experience even better, and slightly more organised too. 

The content will now be from ALL the projects I'm involved in: Birdeatsbaby, Crimson Veil, Hana Piranha, HVIRESS, Mishkin Fitzgerald & The Chemical Perils, Third Bloom & The Velveteen Orkestra... plus all the collabs I'm doing so this is still very much the best place on the internet to find me, and all the music I'll be making.

You'll always receive the news from me first, personally here, and I would love if you would join me for this next chapter too.
