Hello wonderful patrons...

Got a real treat for you tonight.

This is our cover of the Jamie Lenman song, Mississippi.

I discovered Jamie through our videographer and photographer Scott Chalmers. He always plays great music during our shoots, and several years ago shared to me this gem - the JL album called Devolver.

At first the song that popped out immediately was Personal, a shouty, riffy anthem about teenage religious faith turning out to be a disappointing dead end (this spoke to me so directly), however as the album grew on me, so did the song Mississippi.

It became my running anthem. The steady monotonous drone, the chugging guitars and the slow, slow build to the final riff is just glorious. It got me through a lot of the hard runs, coming in at just the right time to get me pound that ground just a little bit harder.

Our version is completely different. I don't see the point of covering something if you're not going to reimagine it. We've added lush strings, gospel choirs and more.

I really hope you enjoy it, I am very proud of it and it's been a real labour of love (we started it in 2020!)
