Well hello there Waxing Crescents,
September is almost over.
Although I've had a bit of a see-saw month it's definitely ended on a high. I couldn't be happier with these two songs. Garry has done an incredible job of mixing, I think it's his finest work yet.
The songs are quite contrasting in arrangement and style, as you know I have never been able to stay on just one genre.
I hope you enjoy the diverse and colourful stylings of the Chemical Perils, as there is a lot more to come after this.
Ok, so these are unmastered as yet but as close to finished as we could get them before they go on the album.
We're going to try and release 2-3 songs per month until the album is done.
This meme kind of sums it up:

Without further ado, I shall present you with the songs:
Lyrics...
BLAME
Everyone's born into pain and compassion
and everyone needs heaven's help
but if you look up in a godly direction
there's no one to see but yourself
Everyone enters the earth with the trespass
of knowing you're destined to fail
and if you pray down to the dirt that's beneath you
there's no one to blame but yourself
You take the road you can travel the least
now just leave me to lay under these bitter trees
leave me to lie under these shadows steep
I've got no one to blame but myself
What do you tell yourself under the gallows
When hating and waiting to die
Singing your heart out in hymns and in hollows
with nothing to lend but the lie
Quote and corral every sigh of the scriptures
The voices of dutiful men
But only your hands placed a noose there above you
As a cynical, final Amen
You take the road you can travel the least
now just leave me to lay under these bitter trees
leave to lay under these shadows steep
I've no one to blame but myself
Blame is a knife that can cut without question
and tear what it hunts into shreds
Mercy is only the kindness you show
when the blade is held up to your chest
So one for the wilful and one for the liars
And one for the lives you can sell
I'll write my name on the wall of the fallen
No one to blame but ourselves
You take the road you can travel the least
now just leave me to lay under these bitter trees
leave me to lie under these shadows steep
I've no one to blame but myself
It will not matter how I bend my knee
I know angels won't enter my undevout dreams
I own my shame and my shame it owns me
and there's no one to blame but myself

THE PUTRID BRINE
Ever seen a fox among the feathers?
Ever seen an angel lose it’s wings?
If you’re looking out for earthly pleasures
I can introduce you to some of the finer things
Rows of hungry windows stare like eyes
Inside, the womb of dark infinity
Shitty little towns tucked under the sheets of cold grey clouds
nothing underneath, nothing to write home about
I’ll be a mind, for the mindless
it’s easy as a hook and line
I’ll be a spine for the spineless
veritas to vilify
all the shame I’ll never feel
cos I don’t mind, and I, I kind of like it
swimming in the putrid brine
Every seen the view from heaven’s garden?
Ever tested out how far you’d fall?
Don’t blame yourself for being human
I looked behind that veil
And I know, the pleasure,
I have it on good measure that
God wants us to fail
