MANKIND - The song

Hello Flock,

Every now and then a musical collaboration comes along in my life that makes me ever so slightly more excited than usual. This is one of those collabs. 

To be honest, I can believe that this hasn't happened already. Georgia and I have known each since the ice age, and been fierce friends, supporting each other in our hardships and celebrating together in our accomplishments. I can honestly say she is the most ambitious and hard-working musician I have ever met.

I suppose it's natural we haven't yet collaborated until now - we are two of the most busiest people I know, and we've both been heading in quite different directions musically since we last toured together many moons ago... 

Then.

Now.

The universe works in mysterious ways, and it seems the right time is right now. After years of perfecting our musical craft, growing our skills and building our empires we can now collaborate with all of this combined experience and knowledge, to create something truly special.

This song is called MANKIND.

The story goes (since we worked separately cos of lockdown), I wrote some weird dark jazz chords on piano and sent over to Georgia. She return it to me with a fully formed song, complete with lyrics and melody and it was just... gorgeous. A couple of tweaks later and a mix and we were away with our first single! 

Working with Georgia is a joy. She is fast-paced , hyper-creative, constantly moving and willing to mix ideas together. I know you guys are going to LOVE this song.

We are now currently in the midst of making the EP, so there is plenty more where this came from. 

I know most of you know who Georgia is, but if you don't, she is the voice behind Bitter Ruin, an intensely theatrical and explosive duo. You can check them on on YouTube here.
