Dearest Flock,
Would you believe we've been part of Patreon since 2015? And many of you have been supporting us there since the day we joined.
That's almost 6 years... 68 months... and about 214 "things"!
We have no intention of stopping there.
We've chosen Patreon as our main platform (alongside bandcamp) as we think it's the right one for us. We also think it's fair.
In an industry where music no longer has monetary value, it's been pretty difficult for us smaller, independent bands to stay afloat. Chuck in a pandemic and it's been devastating, forcing us all to look at alternate ways to make money that don't include live shows. Even our live-streaming revenue is now under threat as companies seek to capitalise on musicians doing webcasts instead of concerts.
This is why Patreon has a been so essential for us, as a direct way to provide music and communicate, artist-to-fan. It has enabled us to fund albums, tours, music videos and buy musical instruments and equipment. However, it's not just about the money - Patreon also means we have pulled together a group of like-minded people that we can share our creative output with. It's like having a label, run by your fans. We get feedback directly from the people who are funding the art. It's brilliant and we love it.
For trusting us with your money and time, we are very grateful. So, thank you patrons!
Looking forward we've decided it's time to shake things up so we have re-jigged the look of our page, and our tiers. Mostly the changes are aesthetic with updated descriptions, but we do have some definite changes, so have a look through anyway and make sure you are happy. Also don't forget to watch my video here, explaining the new tiers.
If you have any questions or concerns please either comment here below, or reach out to me at mishkin@birdeatsbaby.co.uk I absolutely love hearing from you and I want to make sure you, as our patrons, are satisfied with any of the changes we have made. Ultimately this update just means we can now get on with creating bigger and better content... and start our new album HEX. Which will be dark. With teeth.

Much love from a rainy grey-skied England,
Mishkin & those baby eating birds xxx
