I can't believe this is it! This has been such an amazing journey and I'm so glad I got to share this beautiful anime with you all. I can't thank you all enough for watching alongside me, sharing our pain and sorrow together through this amazing story.

How did I know there had to be a continuation out in the world somewhere that portrayed 2B & 9S's life as they wander around earth together, that's amazing and ugh, this is exactly why I love reacting and sharing my experience with you all because you fill me in on these amazing details that I would have never realized or caught on to on my own! The call back to A2 quote, I didn't realize this - as well as the suicide mention in the game, I would have never known!! These are amazing details, and I love that so much! I actually think I'm glad I didn't recall the mention of the suicide attack from the game because the events that followed in the anime with the pods came as a true shock to me, which was kinda nice and amazing to see without knowing it was coming! Very interesting about the report too, I did think that was bizarre that it was the same message... Do you think that was an intended "error" or a genuine mistake? Also got me thinking.. Who are these reports for and what is the Association if YorHa is wiped out minus 2B/9S? WHAT MEMBERS? WHO IS STAYING ON ALERT AFTER ALL THIS?! I would absolutely love for them to do another DrakeNier game, esp with the Singularities stuff you mentioned. Heck, I'll take anything, who am I kidding haha. T_T From here, the story of 2B and 9S continues in the orchestra concerts, of all things, as they wander around Earth together. The Pod sequence felt so out of left field, but then I went back and re-watched the ending E cutscene in the game and 042 mentioned the suicide attack! In the game! I totally glossed over it because nothing like what we saw here was even hinted at except for that line, and there was no context for it until now. And I died when 042 quoted A2 from episode 20: "...right now we have no other options. So suck it! Remember that." "Affirmative. Recording, 'Suck it.'" I loved how they wove endings C and D together here too, with both A2's sacrifice to save Nines and the ark being launched. Side note: there's at least one timeline where the machines' ark lands in Final Fantasy 14 and triggers the events of the crossover raids in the Shadowbringers expansion. This has been so much fun, thank you for starting this whole react series. All of the points you made are spot on, too. We were so blessed to get this anime in the first place, and it turned out so incredibly well. And it's not over??? Bring on the bonus LunieR content! Final ad break transition messages for Episode 24: [Report] Urgent report on both 2B and 9S. [Report] It has been determined that the survival of the two individuals is highly likely connected to the "Great Calamity". All members of the Association are advised to be on maximum alert. * The "Great Calamity", as it's translated here, is most likely the event described elsewhere as the "Cataclysm". The Cataclysm seems to mark the beginning of the Drakengard timeline, and is the counterpart to Drakengard Ending E, which starts the NieR timeline. This closes the loop where the stories of NieR and Drakengard intersect each other. We still don't know a lot about Accord or her Association, or why there are rogue elements that defect to the mysterious antagonistic Group B. We do know that Accord's aim is to prevent the "Fall Down", the collapse and annihilation of all timelines, by observing "Singularities" (entities that create branches in a timeline). Personally, I picture the story's world as something like a bonsai tree, and Accord exists outside of it, clipping the "bad endings" to keep the tree healthy and growing in the right direction. Not a lot is known about Singularities either, but I feel like we have enough information after 6 games to conclude that they occur when we as players come into the picture. I imagine the timelines of the games play out over and over without us until we log on and play as Nier, or Kaine, or 2B and 9S and A2, or Levania and Fio (in Reincarnation), or Caim (Drakengard 1), or Nowe (Drakengard 2), or Zero (Drakengard 3), and our actions and decisions while controlling the characters cause the timeline to diverge. If we ever get a final DrakeNier game, I expect it will involve us Singularities preventing the Cataclysm, so the cycle is broken and the future of humanity continues flowing forward. But then again, when has anything from Yoko Taro been what we expect?

2024-11-27 23:43:00 +0000 UTCI LOVED this ending, felt more conclusive to me seeing them wake up at the end and greet each other smiling 😭 It's crazy how much emotion I felt when our 2 pods came to their own decision and fought back against the rest. PERFECTION *chef's kiss*🧑🍳 I didn't know that was Accord at the end when I first watched this, did a quick lore dive on that when it aired...like "WHO DIS?! WHAT SHE DOIN?!" I will watch any and all things that you react to for Nier.
