Hello lovely patrons,
Happy Friday!
I'm kicking away the January blues by releasing some much needed music.
This month's official thing is two brand new songs for my side-project "Mishkin Fitzgerald and The Chemical Perils" (which is basically Birdeatsbaby with more klezmer).
It's a double A-side, titled The Putrid Brine (a song about revelling in filth) and Goliath (a bittersweet poem sung as a duet).
It's quite different to BEB - I hope that you find something you like!
Hopefully this is just the start of a wonderful project that might just lead to a full album... maybe a music video... a even a tour if I'm lucky ;)
Thank you for your support!

Lyrics:
The Putrid Brine
Ever seen a fox among the feathers?
Ever seen an angel lose it’s wings?
If you’re looking out for earthly pleasures
I can introduce you to some of the finer things
Rows of hungry windows stare like eyes
Inside, the womb of dark infinity
shitty little towns tucked under the sheets of cold grey clouds
nothing underneath, nothing to write home about
I’ll be a mind, for the mindless
it’s easy as a hook and line
I’ll be a spine for the spineless
veritas to vilify
all the shame I’ll never feel
cos I don’t mind, and I, I kind of like it
swimming in the putrid brine
Every seen the view from heaven’s garden?
Ever tested out how far you’d fall?
Don’t blame yourself for being human
I looked behind that veil
And I know, the pleasure,
I have it on good measure that
God wants us to fail
---
I married a dead man
Heavy with ropes
He was a sly one
To leave me alone
Heart of a hunter
Hands of a snake
Looking for evidence
All over my face
Drunk on my tears
He slipped and he fell
White bells in his whiskey
Blood in the well
Rust in his ribcage
Dust in his bones
If he was Goliath
Then I was a stone
I hired a mystic
Release me her name
Tryst was blue ruin
Fates all but plain
Won love in a death race
Across raging seas
Sweet voice tuned to murder
Tore senses from me
Hell blessed my fury
I turned to cruel play
Classical bastards (villains/fellas)
Die classical ways
The creak of the bow
The howl of each gale
Deliver her true name
And fill the top sail
That look that you give me
Ain't fair and you know
When you are long lost
I find my way home.
You wrecked my redemption
No glory, no gold
For a soul shot with poison
A heart has been sold
Dread was the portent
Though the vice seemed so small
To stand on perfection
Leaves a long way to fall
So don’t you dare come round here
Don’t you ever come back
My dead man’s a ghost now
And this vessel is cracked
Still I wish you would call me
I feel so alone
Two vipers entwining
Goliath and stone
