because of you

Hello Patrons,

Hope you're having a mighty fine Sunday.

I just got a rescue cat called 'Dustbin Sam'. So far his favourite thing to do is sit as close to my face as possible, and then jump onto my laptop. It's rather distracting but he is very very cute.

Anyway, cats aside, I wanted to write a quick blog to let you know that... the first Patreon payment for the "Silence" video cleared into our band bank account on Friday, and it was like, WOW.

We now have money this month to buy new equipment that we've desperately needed for a long time, and that's all... because of you!

For ages we've needed to buy some cases for Garry's double bass and pedals - at the moment they just float around the back of the van bumping into things which is far from ideal! Now we've got some hard, protective cases to ensure his stuff is not going to be broken when we go on tour... and this is very good news!

It's a really great feeling to know that we now have a monthly budget to be able to create things with. You've lifted a big weight off us, so really I just wanted to write this blog to say THANK YOU from all of us at team Birdeatsbaby :)

This September on Patreon we plan on releasing one of our "milestone goals". This will be the video to "My Arms Will Open Wide", directed by Richard Anthony Dunford,  as well (hopefullly) as some live video sessions from the last webcast we did, so you should be getting a double whammy this month, but of course we'll still only ever charge you for one "thing" per month.

Thanks again for being a part of this, I'm absolutely loving using Patreon, and I hope you are too!

Love & Feathers, Mishkin xxx

Feels good to help you, thanks :)

thanks Nicholas, that's really good to hear. Perhaps in future we'll consider doing a few more "things", and let you guys know about it then. In the meantime Sam says miiiiiooooowwww x

I just wanna speak up, while I appreciate the ethics of not charging your patrons more than once a month, there are limits each patron can set for their patronage, and every patron can modify charges before the end of the month. While I totally appreciate the ethics, and I reserve the right to edit my pledge at any time, I wouldn't worry as much about making a few "things" a month. In any event, the cat is cute, but I wonder why he wasn't named "Dustbin Ned" (*coughs, dates self, then goes back to lurking)
