I had to reread the auto-decapitation study to verify that despite his neck being 70% sawed open had no nick to the carotid.

2025-10-28 23:15:58 +0000 UTCGod, those reports were shocking. Both patients had the odds stacked against them even without aortic lacerations or major organ damage, and they somehow made it through with minimal long term issues. The human body can survive insane things. I’m still blown away that the partial decapitation case missed his carotid artery. With the amount of damage he sustained it couldn’t have been missed by more than a few inches, if that. What a second chance. And for both of these patients to be STABLE… I’m gonna be thinking about this for years. Also fun fact, I’ve been chased with a real chainsaw more than once. Thankfully only one had the actual blade on it (unknowingly), but both were incredibly stupid scenarios of Halloween scares gone wrong that most definitely could have ended up with serious injury!! Chainsaws are NOT toys or props.
