August Monthly Release - The Path to the Shrine

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the August release! We've already seen a Japanese setting a couple of times before, but it wasn't enough! That's why we're back with it this month, this time to create a nice stage to go through and add a few more characters. let's start, there are a few things to comment!

In the previous releases the miniatures took the main focus, but despite the fact that there were quite a few, we still had some archetypical ideas to explore. This set includes two monks, two ninjas, and one oiran.

Also, in case you prefer them, these variants of them are also included!

As I already said in the preview post, I had to find a balance between miniatures and scenery, to be able to fit everything in the same set. This has meant that some ideas have been left out from both groups. So if you've been waiting for a larger group of deadly ninjas, don't worry, they will be coming!

Now let's move on to the scenery. As usual all the pieces shown below are based on a standard 25mm/1inch grid, but you can always scale them to your liking. First of all we have a few miscellaneous objects: lanterns (tōrō), sacred rock (iwakura) and bamboo fountain (shishi odoshi).

Here are a couple of larger pieces. First of all two different styles of torii, gates that mark a sacred place. And just below a soribashi, a bridge.

Next is a set of statues. I couldn't decide nor did it seem appropriate to limit it to just one, so first we have a free-standing base and then several interchangeable statues of animal spirits and protectors.

And finally we come to the most complex part: the shrine or temple. I usually divide the more complex models into several parts that can be assembled later, so it is easier and more accessible to print. On this occasion I have also taken advantage of that to give the opportunity to create various combinations with the same set of pieces. We have parts for the roof, floor, walls, columns, doors, beams... With all of this you can create different styles of sanctuary, although you will need to print duplicates of some pieces.

To assemble everything, depending on the type of print you use, some sanding work and glue or magnets may be necessary or recommended. You will notice that some pieces have small sockets. These are not joints themselves but small help marks where you can place your own joints or magnets. In any case, they will be hidden when everything is assembled.

The following image shows all the pieces included, and below you can see some examples of assemblies with them.

And that's everything included in the package! Now that we have a good place to play it is time to update the August discount code to make it easier to populate it. With this code you will have a 60% discount in the MyMiniFactory Store on all articles from the past Monthly Releases.

Here ends the post! I hope you like this new set and have a great time assembling and setting up your ideal setting for a mystical adventure. See you soon!
