Hello everyone!
We start a new month and here comes the new release! As I commented in the preview post, many ideas are mixed in it, but the result is the same as always: A good handful of minis to expand your adventures. This time we are going underground, to the territory of the dwarfs!
(Skip the text in italics to go directly to the content of the set.)
Before starting with the set itself, I want to clarify a little my intentions behind it, and the logic that I have been following to shape it. As some of you know, from time to time I like to make sets more focused on scenery and setting than on miniatures (such as The Wizard's Tower, or The Tavern) and one that has been showing sometimes is the Dwarf Forge. So go for it! But...somehow it didn't seem like a good time to do a scenery focused set... However I still wanted it to be about dwarfs.
So the next easily recognizable trope for dwarves is their underground realms, the mines. Something I wanted to add one more layer to: The Dwarf Kingdom against Crystal Corruption. An idea in which a expanding dwarven kingdom encounters a growing plague of monsters corrupted by a malefic ore. A battle for dominance of the underground! But this soon proved to be too ambitious to be done properly in only one set, added to some day-to-day life difficulties, and I ended up cutting half the theme (remaining with just the little crystal creep). Maybe we will see the mineral corruption later, no idea is ruled out!
And so we come to the final lineup of the set! A group of miniatures and components that allow games set in the tunnels and caverns of the dwarven mines. I think is enough so you could even do a multi-scenario campaign in games like Arcadia Quest and SDE. Now , let's review them one by one.
First we have the foot dwarves. Guards and ordinary workers who would be the most common encounter in the tunnels. Watch out! one of them carries a barrel! Get rid of this kamikaze before it gets to you or blows up a crucial target!

Another common encounter in the caves will be the small crystal creeps. One shouldn't be a problem, but a full swarm will wipe out anything it catches. Use the eggs as an objective marker or as a spawn point to destroy!

Let's go back to the dwarves, their elite troops this time. First the King Under the Ground in person, riding his faithful warhog, each more grumpy than the other. And under the direct command of the king, a fast and powerful unit, the pride of the troops, the mounted knights!

Next, to help properly set the board, we have a modular trolley and rail system. Each module is designed to fit a standard 25mm grid. The cart includes three interchangeable plates, which apart from changing its appearance allows it to be used as a treasure chest or to hide mission tokens.

That would be all! But additionally I have included in the set some variations of the figures. Some I already had, some requested by you. They can be useful as different stages of the same fight, objective markers or just someone to add to the group. You decide!

So far the description of the set, sorry for the long text! The only thing left is, since we are in a new month, to renew the discount code for the MyMiniFactory store.
With this code you will get a 60% discount on all previous releases available in our MyMiniFactory store.
This post ends here! I hope it wasn't too boring and that you enjoy the set. Plus a lot of ideas have sprung from it (including the most ghostly spooky ones). So I'll be back soon with more. See you!
