I'm building a new VTOL
Added 2022-06-25 19:00:12 +0000 UTCAfter building 4 previous bicopter style VTOL aircraft, I thought I'd give it another go with some pretty significant upgrades. This is the first test hover using a new flight controller made from a Teensy 4.0 and an MPU6050 running arduino based code called dRehmFlight (https://github.com/nickrehm/dRehmFlight). It was created by Nick Rehm and so far I'm very impressed with the performance! I'll do some more tuning once it has a wing and tail!
Speaking of wings, I've spent a few weeks designing a 3D printable wing that can be printed with zero retractions, which makes it very easy and fast to print, as well as being lightweight!

2022-08-23 06:53:32 +0000 UTCI designed 3D printable fin cans for my water rockets that use "vase" or "spiralize" print mode to print them with no retractions. I'm sure this concept could be applied to various wing and fuselage designs. You really cannot print anything with a dater-tight skin any lighter than vase mode. https://youtu.be/2L9sUAmevzc
