Sorry for the poorly thrown together picture but here's a little look at the updated parts of the sign post.
I've done some updates to the icons, I think it polishes it up a bit better now. Still a lot to do but here's a few things so far:
When mining for salt, your sim may also come home with a crystal of some sort too - I'll be doing a mine for crystals specifically since we now have a pack for them.
I'm adding some fishing options too, one with the ability to catch larger amounts of fish including those deep sea fish by ''boarding a ship'' and going sailing for part of the day but there is just a normal one too. (I spent far too long googling the fish species so I should be an expert now)
Hunting & foraging now has a skill which will help with bringing home more animals/foraged foods. I'm still held up on the name for the skill as i'd like it to fit a couple different things, such as the crafting bait for the different animals.
I've been adding season requirements when foraging, which will make things slightly harder for your sims, being able to only forage what's available for the season they are currently in. There will be a few foraged items that are all year round, like wild bird eggs, nuts/seeds, nettles dandelions etc.
I think i've mentioned before but there is now a basket your sims can make and take with them when foraging to bring home more items which I thought was a cute addition.
I'm also trying to make each rabbit hole activity a bit more meaningful with your sims skills, so it will tie into those where seems most fitting. Eg, fitness when hunting, gemology when mining, fishing when...fishing 😅
There's still a lot to do and it's still very messy at the moment but I just wanted to give those of you waiting patiently some insight and reassurance it's not being left behind!

You may have noticed i've been slowly bringing some small parts from the mod over to the homestead helper (Eg, the canning which I never got around to progressing with in the olde cookbook, homemade ingredients) to help ease some of the work so it's easier to manage in smaller chunks. Those ingredients will be able to use some of the foraged items once the sign post is in a good enough state to release so i'm hoping that I will be able to increase cross-playability with my mods once the olde cookbook/sign post is up and running. 😊
