Three full moons hung low in the sky, lighting the ocean as our ship docked on the remote island of Acheron an hour ago. Strange how there are no sounds of seabirds and insects. Captain Cadria's orders were clear, everyone was to stay on her ship for the night. Then in the morning, the crew and all passengers are to begin repairs. It's been a year since the Grand Lodge received a letter from this remote island lodge. I volunteered for this mission, not because of duty, but because I must find my love, Veteran Trapper Elore Ripkin. With the moons' light, I can see the location of the lodge on a hill, a tall wooden fort built upon an ancient pyramid. A faint light flickers in one of the towers. I cannot stay on this ship any longer! I will sneak off this ship and take the path to the lodge. The young trappers with me can help with repairs and then find me in the lodge. I pray to the gods, she's okay.
