October release suggestions

The Halloween theme is the overwhelming winner of the vote which means it’s time to hear some ideas from you on what you might like to see. As usual there’s no guarantee that we’ll use a suggestion but we’d love to hear what ideas you have. Some ideas we’re toying with are a ghost dragon or dragonlich. Maybe a vampire dragon? Monsters could include possible zombie creatures like and owl bear or unicorn. Maybe giant spiders? Pumpkin golems/monster? Trapper ideas we have are an old hag like witch, a vanhelsing inspired character, an awakened pumpkin. What would you all like to see? Throw us you’re wildest ideas and you might just see it made into a model.

Comments

I second candy golem

Jeremy Medon

I second a hearse-lodge. Maybe pulled by rats, zombies, damned spirits, or thestrals

Jeremy Medon

Every idea y'all put forward sounds awesome. Gonna second the motion for a ghost dragon, and the Frakenstein trapper.

Travis McGruder

Love to see a jack-o-lantern / pumpkin patch elemental creature.

How about a Frankenstein style trapper made up of different races

Lovecraftian horror - The Shadow over Innsmouth inspired Dagon/things of the deep x Dragon

Werewolf Bloodhunter!

Okiku (girl from the well/ring)

Ghost dragon as suggested would be great. I've seen enough dracoliches and other dragons (skeleton, vampire, etc.). But a good ghost dragon would be an instant print for me. Any variations on ghosts, specters, ghouls would be nice to have. Easy to fit those into many undead encounters. Zombies (or skeletons) of standard monsters would be awesome (like the owlbear mentioned, or any number of other standard monsters). What about a really cool, powerful banshee? I love crawling claws, so what about larger crawling claws that are made from giants, dragons, etc.? Would be cool minions for a necromancer's dungeon.

Pumpkin golems and twisted apple trees seem great and have not been done by any sculpter I know of.

Bobby Blanding

Golem assembled/summoned from ghosts and ghouls.

One of the trappers should definitely be a trick or treater using a skull of one of your previous release as the pumpkin basket and what not

I love the scary kobold idea. Mountain giant kobalds, drow kobolds, troll kobolds. so great

Rae Farley

Halloween costumes! Elves dressed as dwarves. Dwarves dressed as minotaurs. Goblins as frost giants. Endless inspiration! Halloween costumes! Also tipied trees - trees dressed up as ghosts/ghouls.

Rae Farley

That's awesome - I'm imagining a masquerade. Halloween costumes!

Rae Farley

"Masks" as an inspiration! Fantasy miniatures already cover so many types of monster that I think costumes and disguise might be the most fertile ground for novel takes on Halloween... Masquerade costumes! Cloak and dagger diguises! Shape shifters!

Jamie

I'm thinking some sort of spider dragon? Spider silk spread across one set of legs to make wings would be super cool.

how bout a hag of some kind, not enough hag love out there

The movie Ernest scared stupid had some trolls that might make great figures.

Whoa awesome idea!

Whenever I think of ghost dragon I think of lotp's water element.

Cat dragon mount is such a cool idea!

Baba Yaga Hutt dragon!

Justin Hudechek

How about a twist on the classic pumpkin carriage for the building monster? I love the idea of a skeletal ghost dragon so much! I haven’t seen this mentioned yet, but could we get a Drider up in there? They always make me think of halloween

Austen Weitzel

Brilliant

The Dragon Trappers Lodge

Skeleton dragon. A giant Frankenstein monster as a mount who carries a mad scientist! A revenant who hunts dragons to have revenge! A giant bear who stalks trick or treaters to fatten up for the winter

Alice

Grim Reaper, and possibly some skeletons crawling out of their graves.

Ghost dragon, goblins or kobolds badly dressed up to pass as something scarier. Headless rider throwing their pumpkin head at you, scarecrows, cornfield monster, I also love the software another person listed for a spooky carnival.

AJ Gabriel

A Frankenstein dragon sewn together from several other dead dragons and reanimated by a mad scientist trapper. Ala frankenstein complete with bolts and a work station and helper. And a pumpkin beast , made from animated pumpkins and vines

Michael Abraham

How about a flesh golem made from various different monster parts?

I will never say no to animated Scarecrows, lots of scarecrows.

Scott Lemay

Maybe some female gargoyles to go with the male gargoyles that are already available? :3

Kythera of Anevern

Completely separate from my last idea, what about an undead carnival vibe, with spooky ringmaster, firebreathers and clowns?

Josh Rodell

what about an ash vs evil dead themed character with an artificer created chainsaw instead of a missing hand and a crossbow in the other hand (perhaps with some mechanism on their leg to help reload it)

Jon Self

Idea 1: Vampire bat dragon, zombie trappers, Scarecrow Golems, Headless Hauntsmen, Giant Crow mount, Pumpkin version of a corpse collector. Idea 2: It’s basically medieval SAW. You have ghost “trick or treaters” and the ones that got the trick are clearly dead in horrific ways. The Dragon is a puppet master so it’s basically a patchwork of cloth and stuff like that, like the Boogie Man from Nightmare before Christmas. And the other monsters are creatures the Dragon commands or has made to keep its fun house lair deadly.

Gibbering mouther dragon.

Nul'taar Shalrac

Sleepy Hollow-style headless rider riding on a monster of some sort, a skeletal or ghostly Hunter, a candy golem with a witch, goblins wearing pumpkin helmets

Gregory Morris

Pumpkin dragon! 🎃

This might be a weird idea, but haunted furniture? A wardrobe with a ghostly form partially phasing out of it. A dresser with the draw blown open and the clothes formed into a semi-humanoid form, reaching out. A bed with tentacles writhing up from underneath. Basically, stuff to populate a classic haunted house. Then, you could have an exorcist trapper, ready to quiet the restless dead.

Josh Rodell

Stuff that I haven’t seen a ton of that I would love to have: Pack of hellhounds, skinwalker, strigoi, Worm That Walks, Rokurokubi, Dullahan, Black Annis, Jersey Devil, onryo

ErisTheMenace

Ooh zombie versions of trappers is awesome!

The Dragon Trappers Lodge

A stealthy scarecrow with scythe weapons

yes yes i second a ghostly release for Halloween.

Jeff Abandonato

I need a sugar skull skeleton mariachi bard in my life!!!!

Ndy

Oh how about some trick or treaters, little kids dressed up maybe as a little witch, pirate, and skeleton with sacks for candy maybe open, tied to the waist, or dragging behind. I think that would be neat to see.

Ghosts, specters, wraiths, will-o-wisps, ghouls, zombies, mummies… For an Asian theme, you could do various Kamis. Or, perhaps a kitsune-tsukai… A flesh-golem would be close to Frankenstein’s monster.

James Klappenbach

What about a Macabre Masquerade. You already have one release that's basically Halloween. This hunter team should mirror it some with a Warlock, a Hell Knight (Ghostrider with a Flaming Mace), Banshee, Owlfolk Archer/Rogue, and a Frankenstein's Monster as the leader. For NPC Fauna I can only come up with Gremlins in 3 different poses and kind of Spider Hybrid that hunts them.

House Hendoe

A dragon perched atop a giant pumpkin.

or a skeleton trick or treater dressed in a man costume

Maybe instead of a Dracolich or ghost dragon you could do a like living cemetary , like grave stones and soil mixed with exhumed skeletons and rotting corpses , bugs , smashed coffins , all shaped into a gargantuan monstrosity that LOOKS like a dragon , could be bound together by pumpkin vines

Pumpkin leshy! Some sort of cute ambulatory pumpkin. What about a skeletal pegasus? Or a skeletal wolfman?

Werebeasts like weretoad, werebadgers, werespider, and werebat. For dragons i like the spider dragon, dracolich, or vamperic dragon. Coven of witches and Hags would be dope too

Drew Mobley

Ok hear me out. Monsters dressed up in costumes to be cute creatures. Like a dragon dressed as a bunny >:3. Adventurers dressed as monsters . That sort of thing

joshua

What about a shadow hunter. Somewhat an assassin but he is shrowded in darkness. Dragon wise, lichs and and Skelton's are a dime a dozen. But a dragon that phases through dimensions of life and death could be interesting. Some parts could be bone and other parts flesh. Where the dimension rift would be would show a split section of sort for the dragon. Seeing into it's chest to view it's beating heart or boney claws which connect to a hard scaled armor.

Nick Adegite

A dragon, manticore or other large monster that's been infested with pumpkin-like vines. The vines can weave in and out of the skin, feeding/controlling the beast.

Mothman inspired trapper!!

Vampiric Unicorn!

James Bixler

Dragonlich is fairly common, I'd rather see a ghost dragon or better yet a nightmarish spider dragon. Pumpkin horrors, bat monsters, and flesh golem would be cool. A wereraven, witch, campion, and arisen pumpkin would make great trappers

Jeff

gaping dragon ds 1

Justin Martin

The headless Thestralgnome?

What about a headless "griffonman"? Headless horseman riding a griffon?

A “Headless Hunter” wielding sword and ax, atop a nightmare-like dragon, bags with heads in them tied off along the saddle-harness. Monstrously sized humanoid vampire bat, or were-bat, with wings or without (more like a werewolf but with bat-like head and claws). Skeleton mariachi guitarist bard, three different witches flying on a broom, pitchfork, and shovel.

Michael Swing

How about a Banshee, or Barghest. For a Trapper, you could try a Cambion.

Candy golem dragon. Toilet paper mummy dragon

Tori Roz

Skeletal horses pulling a carriage like from Harry Potter

Rae Farley

Huge spider that's been taken over by multiple parasites where each parasite get's it's own initiative and attack rolls.

HEADLESS HORSEMAN!!! The stl world is FULL of lycanthrope, zombies and ghosts. A headless horseman would be one of a handful out there and would be amazing in your art style.

Sean McInnes

I like the idea of pumpkin horrors - not just a pumpkin mimic as some have done - something ambulatory. If we are doing something in a costume - how about a reversal - a monster trying to pass themself off as something more mundane - we can see through the disquise, but not quite what is underneath. A ghost dragon does sound appealing. Can we takes scarecrows in a new direction? And I wouldn't mind something with bats, or a giant bat creature - bats are iconic for halloween. ...A Bat dragon?....

Treebeard

Maybe an evil/ demonic court jester to cater to the fear of clowns. Or a funeral carriage

Vampire narwahl!!!

Werewolf trapper? Van helsing sounds awesome. Maybe a headless horseman type trapper or a swamp man? It'd be cool to see a swampthing dragon too or like a wax creature kinda deal?

I'd love something like a classic sheet ghost, either as a humanoid or maybe a full dragon under a sheet!

EldritchBee

Scarecrow, witch, headless horseman, jacklewere, pumpkin mimic

Undead Myconid Horror?

A dragon that looks pieced together with parts of other dragons, a FrankenLich

Michael Swing

Maybe a patchwork Frankenstein style chimera?? With different parts of things and varying limbs of all types and sizes? Very asymmetrical design. What about a tombstone golem? Or a graveyard golem? Possibly compiled of corpses and coffins, earth and tombstones? Maybe a giant pumpkin spider, with a rear end that looks like a pumpkin/jack-o'-lantern?? A headless horseman kind of deal would be cool, or maybe a sheep person, satyr like, with large ram horns and wool, that has another mini for a Westwood form, so it's like a wolf in sheep's clothing, a fun twist on a werewolf? Or maybe a werewolf dragon??? Or a tombstone dragon?? A tombstone mimic? Maybe a giant chariot pulled by ghostly flaming horses/nightmares?

Loup Garou and other rare horror genre monsters.

John Weyen

Banshee's! There's lots of skeletons and zombies and such already, but great banshee's are hard to find

Lee Wendel

A dragon skeleton animated by a pumpkin patch (vines as muscles and binding, pumpkins here and there, and mouth of the skull open wide as if roaring or breathing fire, revealing a wicked looking Jack o lantern inside mirroring with its mouth open, either cackling or roaring; eyes showing through the mouth making it look like the pumpkin is wearing the skull like a helmet) making it a Dracolich. Or a Drak O’ Lich, if you will

Michael Swing

Love the classics idea but I was thinking something a bit different. Rather then classic monsters let's go classic slashers. A corrupted dream demon, and undead juggernaut with a mask, a tortured soul (cenobite). We get heroic dragon trappers all the time. Let's delve into the darkens past, the "fallen trappers" band the hell drake dragon that brings them out once a full moon on the eve of hallows

Trent

Dracolich please!!

Matt Ramos

Ghost dragon or ghost wyvern definitely (wyverns don't get enough love). The headless horseman with a pumpkin head and a terrifying spider

A weredragon would be something...a cursed trapper... Maybe a Frankensteined Trapper?

John Elliott

Maybe pulled by a ghost horse??

I love the idea of seeing DTL's spin on classic horror monsters and I'm all about sticking with themes classically tied to the holiday. Whatever they go with, I'm excited to see it!

Jason Keene

Awakened Pumpkin (Jack Skeleton) would be cool. A tiefling wereowl witch? A half spectral half skeletal dragon.

Roddy Novogradac

Aristocratic/potentially vampire trappet could be cool Definitely a big pumpkin golem, like the one in The Simpsons Charlie Brown treehouse of horror

Ghost dragon for sure! Maybe a patchwork monster like Frankenstein's monster, ghosts, ghouls, creepy doll monsters... so many options!

miked0227

I would much prefer a ghost dragon to a zombie dragon, and I’d like to see something in a costume

Ghost dragon sounds very cool!

Ghost dragon or dracolich both would be rad

James Constantino

Ghost dragon definitely. I'm tired of dracolich, zombie dragon and bat dragon. Headless Horseman (Centaur)

cadenheadr04

When first seeing the poll. I thought of maybe a Giant Pumpkin Carriage as the new lodge transport. Like Cinderella's Carriage but for Trappers and Hunters.

A "hack-o-lantern": Pumpkin monster that wields several blades?

Daniel Hamilton

I played a DnD campaign as a Half -Orc who was a Werewolf BloodHunter. That would be cool as a Hero to Fight the Dracula

A many eyed raven type monster would be cool

Oixys

A dragon... made of treats!

Daniel Hamilton

Ghost dragon/dragonlich sounds cool. I also think a witch character with a black cat familiar that turns into a black cat dragon mount would be cool.

I'd love a pumpkin dragon!

Mingi Webber

Pumpkinhead would be cool

Acalagus

A cauldron mimic? Of course my mind goes to Charlie Brown and his ghost costume with multiple eyes.

Daniel Hamilton

I’d be cool to get some Halloween type Goblins

dragon lair decorated for halloween

Halloween themed heroes!!! A beast path barbarian werewolf, jack skellington inspired fighter, tiefling witch.

Jonathan Morales

Dragon in costume

I think a ghost dragon would be super cool. Possibly even a a pumpkin golem dragon. Or a scarecrow dragon

The great pumpkin... golem. A Mike Myers inspired trapper would just be funny. Zombie Ettin. Zombie versions of a couple previous trappers just for fun.

Darren

I would love to see a werewolf in flannel as an expert hunter in this series. 🙌🏽 (eg. Nightmare Before Xmas werewolf goes a'hunting)

Piecemakers

I'd love to see slightly unconventional concepts like a graveyard golem featuring tombstones and skeletal elements. No matter what I'm sure you'll make a phenomenal set with this theme!

I think they already did that

Darren

I’d like to see your spin on a werewolf dragon or wolf dragon. Make you’ve done one before and I haven’t seen it.

Vampire dragon is cool, but hear me out: Mind Flayer Dragon.
