Azeem hails from the one of the far southern branches of the lodge in the land of Alegis in the Golden Sea, a vast stretch of sandy dunes that stretches for hundreds of miles, home to sand pirates, scoundrels, and of course the Desert Burrower. Though Azeem likes to spoil himself with fine clothes and jewelry he has plenty of various dragon scales under his belt however the Desert Burrower is his speciality. When he can, Azeem will simply catch and release a dragon if it's small enough so that it isn't near any villages or trade routes but some like Old Blue are just too dangerous for that. Azeem knows the tell tale signs of slide marks in the sand and melted glass from the dragons hot flames. Equipped with a massive falchion encrusted with an enchanted sapphire he can deal icy blows to the cold blooded Burrower, giving him the upper hand. His overflowing decanter ensures he never runs out of water in the hot desert and Rose ensures he is able to traverse the desert sands quickly to follow a trail. One day he'll get Old Blue, or Old Blue will get him.
Rose is Azeems trusty mount. It might seem odd to see such a veteran trapper riding on something as mundane as a camel but Rose has her perks. Her feet allow her to travel across the sandy dunes without being hindered and her hump allows her to go much longer without water, but that's not what makes her so special. Azeem found rose when she was young. Her mother had been killed by an old blind Desert Burrower. Somehow Rose had escaped the tremor sense of the dragon, possibly due to her soft step on the desert sands and her light weight. She had ended up following the dragon back to it's lair where she nestled amongst the dragons young. The dragon eded up raising the young camel as one of its own which gave it the amazing ability to use tremor sense herself. The young dragons eventually began to grow and realize that Rose wasn't one of them. Luckily Azeem rescued her from becoming a meal for the wyrmlings and now they are inseperable. Her tremor sense has become an invaluable tool for alerting Azeem when a dragon might be approaching invisible beneath the dunes.
Most stories of dragons conjure images of majestic winged beasts soaring through the sky but not the Desert Burrower. The Burrower is a 'lesser dragon, meaning it is not of the speaking variety and is only a slight bit more intelligent than the common beast. It lives in the sandy dunes of The Golden Sea and instead of using its wings to fly, it uses them to help it burrow and move quickly beneath the dunes, pushing sand out of the way as it glides through the course grains like a shark in the water. Burrowers use their tremor sense to stalk prey beneath the dunes and then burst forth often swallowing their target whole and finishing any prey they missed with their fiery breath. They may not be your typical terror of the skies but some might say Burrowers are worse since you can rarely see them coming. If you see shards of twisted glass melted into the sand, that's a sure sign you're in a Burrowers hunting grounds and you'd be wise to prepare for a fight.
