Weekly Journal #5 - More Tombs, 4000 Subs

The video on Darkest Dungeon was received far better than I thought. I'm always nervous when I post a new video no matter what it is, since I taught myself everything to do with them and wonder if I missed something simple. I was particularly worried about this one because my opinion went so strongly against most other reviews. I feel a lot better about it now.

Not to say that my opinion is flat-out correct or anything, just that it was reasoned well enough that people could see where I was coming from.

Speaking of "missing something simple", I did some digging on how to improve quality on the recordings. Most people don't seem to care about this but I get at least one comment about it every video. This is really hard for me to judge because the audio always sounds good on my headset. But it sounds not so great on my wife's speakers.

The attached picture may make me look stupid to some people who are familiar with making audio files but, as I just said, I'm learning everything as I go stumbling through it all. There's too much clipping in these recordings. I need to lower the microphone input level on audacity itself instead of fiddling with the basic sound settings. I'm hoping this solves the issue and that audio quality won't be a problem anymore. I can focus on continuing to improve cadence instead.

If anyone missed it at the end of the Darkest Dungeon video, I decided to do Rise of the Tomb Raider next instead of Dragon's Dogma. After so many hours with Darkest last week I don't think I'm capable of another huge time commitment like Dragon's Dogma. It'll be my next video instead.

So far I'm really enjoying Rise but it has many of the same problems that 2013 Tomb Raider had.
