Seeking Destiny (Story!)

I promise I won't make a habit of these being late, but it's a long one again, so forgive me.
Now, the poll I ran landed on something "Dark/Gore" or words to that effect. To try and cover myself with patreon guidelines I want to point out that this is obviously all fictional depictions of events. I doubt they'd come down on me for my silly stories, but better safe than sorry, right?
Anyhow! This is somewhat based on a story I wrote back before I was actually even writing for commission. It was just something I did to try out the genre, and actually got me interested in it. So, like an artist doing a redraw, here is my rewrite of one of my first stories, "Scouting Party". I've included the original as a little bonus for you to compare, if anyone is interested in that.
