An update, a thank you & what's next

Hey folks! Wanted to check in to give you a bit of a look at my plans, and some insight into what's been going on.

The Doctor Who Video is Cooked

First thing's first I need to say a huge thank you. This Doctor Who video has been decimated by the BBC and I'm at a point where I think the plan is to get a version that doesn't get blocked and just put it out to the public and hope it doesn't get taken down. Making money off this thing is an absolute impossibility and while that is discouraging when it comes to ever doing something like this again, I'm honestly thankful I have the means to be able to take 3 months working on a project that wont make me any money. Patreon is a fucking life saver and I'm so thankful for all of you on here allowing me to do what I love. I say it a lot, but I really mean it, you are all spectacular and I'm forever grateful.

What do I do next?

That all said though, things are still looking a little ropey in terms of revenue outside of Patreon and realistically I need to make up for it, while I can afford to do it this time, I can't afford to make no money FOREVER. I was always planning this particular project but I think I need to bring it forward mainly just so I don't feel under pressure from low revenue figures on the YouTube side and that's to revisit Assassin's Creed 2. My AC2 video came out 5 years ago now and if I'm being real, it kinda sucks. It consists of very basic analysis while I essentially retell the story of AC2 with a copious amount of cutscenes. The video stands at just over an hour but without cutscenes its honestly probably closer to 30 minutes, it's incredibly shallow. I think will the skill I've gained in making these things and with the better understanding I have of what I truly value from Assassin's Creed specifically, I can make a really unique video that will likely not be like anything anyone has made yet. I think the way I look at these games nowadays is incredibly different from how most people do and even to how I did many years ago. So while this is indeed a choice designed to make up for lost revenue, it's also a project I do genuinely want to make and hopefully wont be too disappointing if you were hoping for something more outside the box.

Future Plans?

I have more plans though, more things I want to make, both large and small and hopefully it'll bring a little variety. As for Patreon I have the monthly video still to make and the companion video to post, but beyond that I have a few ideas that will use multiple games to explore a singular topic as well as the stuff I've talked about in previous update posts. I can never be truly sure which projects will see the light of day, which will get pushed back and which will get entirely scrapped and so I'm trying not to say for certain I'm working on anything until I can feel a script actually coming together otherwise I end up announcing tons of projects that never even get made into anything, which doesn't mean they'll never happen, just not right now.

The reality is that I have tons of ideas, every time I think of something that would be cool I jot it down so I can look back and maybe get to it one day, and I think moving forward I'll look at that list more often and just get to work on something that really takes my fancy. For now though, I think I need to knuckle down on this AC2 revisit, hopefully it wont take me TOO long, but you know me. I think, so I don't go completely insane with another large project, I'll have another little something to work on at the same time, something to add a little variety to my whole process.

I've also started multi-streaming recently on YouTube and Twitch so no longer are my streams purely a Twitch thing. Twitch lifted their exclusivity contract for partners a few months back and now I can stream both to Twitch and to YouTube at the same time and It's been really cool so far. If you're not into Twitch but want to show up to streams, you now can, they'll always be streamed to my second channel ItsLazBoi.
