“CHEEEEEEESE!” Maverick said aloud as he posed with a hellhound and a lioness. Loona and Zira prospectively. Magic was running awry in the land, but Maverick did not care. He saw an opportunity that he could not pass up, even if it would be difficult to explain to others. He knew that the two were faking their smiles, and he knew what they were capable of. He knew that Loona hated those around her, and that Zira was manipulative to no end, but Maverick only ever saw the good in others. After the photo was taken, Maverick continued to smile as Loona looked over the photo with Zira, both much less than happy than Maverick was.
“There. You have your precious photo.” Loona told him, taking her phone and hitting a number of buttons, certainly to send Maverick the information.
“Yay!!” Maverick smiled, placing both hooves around the two, bringing them in closer to himself. “You two have made me the happiest pony in the land!!”
“Hush!!” Zira told Maverick, moving her head away from his.
“You do know what is going to happen to you if you do anything to this photo besides look at it, right?” Loona asked Maverick, her fangs showing now. Maverick was surprised that she wasn’t swearing like she used to.
“If you share the picture with others…” Zira said before showing her claws to him. “Then let’s just say it might be the last mistake that you will make.”
Maverick, still smiling, placed his head in Zira’s paw, the claws near him. But he had no fear. “How could I possibly be afraid of the two lovely ladies?”
Loona raised an eyebrow. “Brave…” She said under her breath before she took out a spell book, looking at the spell needed to go back to her dimension. She also cast another spell from the book to have a wormhole for Zira as the lioness then smiled, removing her paw from Maverick’s chin.
“Please get some sleep…” The lioness purred, once again seeming to feign her happiness with the stallion. “Your dear wife must worry about you.”
“Yeah. Tell her that she owes me one after this.” Loona added, getting ready to walk through the wormhole and back into her own era, but not before giving one last look at Maverick. “And,,, by the way, Maverick…” She began.
“Yes?” Maverick continued to leer at the both of them.
“I’m sure we will see you soon.” Loona smirked an uneasy looking smile at Maverick.
“We certainly will.” Zira added. “We don’t want to stay away from the king too long now, do we?”
“King?” Maverick asked himself as the two exited to their prospective homes, not to be seen again for some time. Back at home, Maverick examined the picture of the three together as he placed a hoof on the picture. He knew Ocean Soul pulled strings to get the photo opportunity for him, but what was the cost? His mind began to wonder as he continued to gawk at the picture, still smiling gently to himself… (c) Andrew Faehling (https://www.deviantart.com/strike-of-the-ninja)
