2024-11-08 23:50:25 +0000 UTCThank you for the good vibes. This year has been rough, parenting has been very rough, and my job has been overwhelming. My Kid is just running out of the baby phase. There has been so many ideas and general attitudes about talking to your kids, that may be part of why I am struggling. I also like the idea of "discussing in a plce of power" for the kid. Because I would have explained climate change badly, and I tend to explain the world to myself badly as well.

2024-11-08 00:52:28 +0000 UTCthis was great, Francis. big thank you to you and Jack for getting this out. my daughter just turned 12 and started middle school this fall and has become exponentially more aware of what’s going on in the world and this helped a lot in my approach to discussing things with her and curbing my tendency to jump right to cynicism
