Premium TTS voices on Yomichan
Added 2021-03-07 13:36:07 +0000 UTCAre you a Japanese learner ? If so, you're probably familiar with Yomichan, a neat browser extension. A couple of weeks ago, a patreon fan asked me whether it would be possible to use premium TTS voices on Yomichan. I have now rolled out this feature in Language Tools. This feature allows you to use any of the Japanese voices from https://languagetools.anki.study/audio-languages/ja-jp in Yomichan.
While you need Language Tools for the initial setup, you can later uninstall it if you wish.
- Install Language Tools from https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/771677663
- Configure your API key (your key can be found here: https://cloud-language-tools-prod.anki.study/request_patreon_key)
- Go through the Language Mapping process (Tools -> Language Tools: Language Mapping)
- Select the Japanese voice you'd like to use from the Voice Selection screen (Tools -> Language Tools: Voice Selection)
- Then go to Tools -> Language Tools: Yomichan Integration, and follow instructions there.
