What's going on with Google Sheets Mandarin Cantonese API ?
Added 2020-07-05 09:59:20 +0000 UTCNew users are unable to sign in, getting a message "not authorized". The short version is that google is being difficult, asking me to jump through hoops to enable the addon again. I've apparently hit some kind of limit for "unverified" addons.
If you know anyone who may benefit from using the addon, please ask them to install it manually: https://github.com/lucwastiaux/mandarin-cantonese-api#manually-enabling-the-add-on
The addon doesn't do anything nefarious, it just looks up words in a chinese dictionary and returns pinyin/jyutping. The code is open source here: https://github.com/lucwastiaux/mandarin-cantonese-api
They're asking me for the following to re-enable the addon:
Respond directly to this email, with a YouTube video link that meets all the below requirements:
- Video is publicly accessible
- OAuth Consent Screen is in English
- OAuth Consent Screen shows the App Name
- URL bar of the OAuth Consent Screen shows the Client ID containing the project_number fully displayed (Note: this is not required for native Android and iOS apps)
- Shows the OAuth grant process that users will experience
- Shows how the data will be used by demonstrating functionality for each sensitive scope(s) that are being requested Shows how data is accessed on each OAuth client. This is required for every OAuth client in your project
- You do not need to be personally visible in the demo or narrate the video. Demonstrating the process from the keyboard/screen view is fine.
This is going to take me a while to put this together. Making a video is time-consuming and I'd rather spend that time writing software. In the mean time, please use the manual installation.
