Happy New Year (can we still say that?) everyone! I don’t like alerting your inboxes with something other than content, but because it’s clear to me there will be a pretty significant delay for 2023’s first video, I felt it was appropriate to let everyone know where I’m at in advance of the next bill cycle.
The next video is going to be something primarily about Darrell Brooks. Trials can be a real pain because often there’s no way to really know what to do with it without watching the full thing. I decided that was the case in this instance, and as you’ll know if you followed it, it was a particularly tedious affair - like, holy shit.
Good news is, I’m finally done doing that part. Bad news is, the whole writing of the video and figuring out what 0.001 percent of the trial footage to utilize and how has only just begun. I’m going to try and make up for as much lost time as I can, but realistically we’re probably looking at late Feb for completion. Even possibly early March, but I really don’t want that.

Often when we have a delay like this I like to double these posts as “rolling AMAs” and I think we’re overdue. Ask anything you like below and I will get back to you in a timely manner. It can be about past cases/the channel or just random stuff - pop culture or whatever. The AMA is ongoing until the early premiere is posted, so if you can’t think of anything you’d like to ask now and think of something in a couple of weeks, you're golden. I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

2023-01-28 11:22:25 +0000 UTCHmmm, I think the best way to look at it is how the monarchy is viewed rather than any given monarch. I would estimate support of the monarchy is roughly 50/50 with most of each camp not feeling that strongly about it but say 10 percent of each being staunch royalists/anti-monarchy. The reason most people don’t feel that strongly about it is that the royal family's role in our affairs really is almost completely symbolic, so there isn’t that much to love or hate about the situation. Having said that, I think all but the most virulent anti-monarchy people would admit Queen Elizabeth was an exceptional Queen, even if the role was mostly symbolic. Even if you don’t hate King Charles, you have to concede he’s no Queen Elizabeth. So I think with her death the chance of us becoming a republic in the next 10-20 years has increased significantly because there’s that much less of a sentimental attachment to the institution now that Liz is gone.

From the sounds of things it could be a great subject to cover but I haven't had time to actually familiarize myself with the details. Moscow is the big current one I'm really keeping tabs on (I talked a bit about why in the reply above) but Murdaugh will clearly be wrapped far ahead of that.

2023-01-27 00:19:02 +0000 UTCI've actually been casually following the developments in the Delphi and Moscow cases just for my own personal interest, which isn't all that common! That doesn't necessarily mean they'll wind up suited to a video. It all depends on how things proceed and what comes out in the wash as far as raw video and audio goes. I don't think it's even been decided if the Delphi trial will be streamed? Certainly not Moscow. Moscow could be particularly interesting if the trial is streamed and BK goes through with a not guilty plea. I think everyone agrees it's highly unlikely we'll see an interrogation tape of BK, and I also really doubt his lawyer will advise him to take the stand. Who knows though. Regardless, if that does go to trial and is streamed I could see it being a fascinating case study of how a defense is mounted in the face of overwhelming odds. It seems like they've got him like 98% dead to rights and it can be really interesting watching what lawyers do with that remaining 2%. Not that I can really imagine him getting off, but just the fight could be something to behold. This is all in my imagination though, again we just have to see what actually happens. Delphi also looks like it could go deep, how much so is what I'm keeping an eye on.

2023-01-26 22:32:10 +0000 UTCI'd definitely consider it - Big pros: It was supposed to be a pretty dynamic trial and not only is that available but the full incident is on tape as well. Down sides are not only are trials a pain to make as mentioned above but it's one of those ones where no matter what you conclude you'll cop shit, PLUS the YT algo tends to suppress controversial, graphic material which is what happened with the Floyd/Chauvin video. I certainly wouldn't NOT do a subject I was passionate about for those reasons but if I'm anything less than passionate (and I don't love that case) then the work vs upside ratio tends to make it take a while before a thing like that winds up at the top of my list. Frankly, the further that case is from the front of people's minds the better from my perspective. I like the Predator/Cart Narc style but subjects that suit it don't come along too often. There might be a bit of that sort of stuff in the Brooks vid.

Most cases from New Zealand, Australia, even the UK don't have full interrogations and trials just available to be viewed by the public. David Bain is the ONLY NZ case I can think of that lends itself to my format but even that was a pain to figure out for the above reason. The police interviews with Bain aren't even on tape and even the trial portions are from TV news reports. It was just because news reports had captured each chapter of the story over the years that it was possible to stitch that together into one cohesive story.

JCS commissioned the Anthony Palma vid from that, which was a trip, and things have just snowballed form there ever since. I'm one of those people who's entire career is an accident.

With Williams it was because I felt the mysterious question of what really drove his psychological break gave enough extra to put a different spin on it. With Anthony, I think really diving into the mechanics of HOW her lawyers got her off could make it a totally different experience from watching the (excellent) JCS video. Plus that new peacock documentary (which I hear is a travesty) gives us another chapter to play with. Could be something to look at this year. I haven't done my own deep dive on CA before, so I don't know exactly how I'd approach it, but those are my preliminary thoughts.

No - and I can give you the skinny on that now as it looks like it'll be well over a year before we even have a shot at getting what we need. [Assuming prior knowledge here, so look up the case if you need to be filled in] So the case in question there is Pam Hupp, which has actually been done to death...but here's the thing: Hupp's interrogation is for the most part a total bore. The guy she framed for murdering his wife several years prior named Russ Faria was also interrogated TWICE in the direct wake of coming home to find her brutally murdered. Cops at the time decided very early on they had their guy so he was basically railroaded and spent about 3 years in prison before being freed and Hupp was finally pegged for the crime. Those tapes of Russ Faria being interrogated were what we were trying to secure. They would enable us to basically tell the whole multi-year story from beginning to end. Pretty rad, huh? We went back and forth with the custodians of those tapes for MONTHS with them dragging their feet but basically indicating that we should be able to get them. Finally, toward the end of last year, they got back to us again saying the tapes could not be released as of now because Pam Hupp's legal process is not technically over yet. That smells like total BS as HER OWN interrogation is already publicly available. The powers that be clearly just don't want to put out material that makes them look bad imo. BUT - they have at least stated their reason. So when Hupp's last breath of appeal is done, we should be able to go back and say "no more excuses, hand over those tapes." Plus I have another couple of long shot ways I'm going to keep trying to obtain Faria's interrogation recordings. I have the video for that case completely made right up until the point Russ's interrogation is supposed to start which I could even post here if people were interested...but the problem is it would be incredibly frustrating for most, I suspect. Getting the whole build up and then BAM no more video...nor is the rest coming in the forseeable future. But if people really wanna see that, comment below and I'll post it up just in this thread.

I wouldn't focus so much on the sovereign citizen aspect of things as much as the overall case. We love your content, as demonstrated by us being Patrons.
