All of the cases in the video included both overdose through assuming they weren't working yet, and alcohol use. Those who are experienced or involved in psychedelics will tell you alcohol + hallucinogens is never a good idea because it has a reputation for making hallucinations "darker"-- just subjectively from experience, not based on occurrences like this. It's absolutely your choice in how you interpret this event and the relative danger of trips, but I think the dangers of drug/alcohol interaction and lack of respect for the substance+overdosing are generally too downplayed in favor of stoking fear of the substance itself.

This video is very good and I only have 2 little problems with it but it didn’t ruin the video and I’d imagine it would deem the video ineligible for YouTube. Not sure how shortly after the interview was done, but after a terror trip you can be out of it for a few days. You could just see him have a picture of what took place before pop into his head at times. A terrible tragedy. Safe to say it made me think twice about tripping.

Also in Peterborough, Ontario. Watson is 76 years old at the time. The interrogation is a bit of a slog to get through - the first two hours are slow, but you realize it’s all building to a masterful moment when Detective Sargeant Scott Johnston says “That’s blood.” It’s a pretty cool “Gotcha!” moment. I think it’s done in the same interrogation room in the same police station. 🙃😉

Seems a little convenient as an excuse for premeditated murder....I think the biggest thing I wish the detective had done differently was NOT tell him whether his dad's gf made it or not. At 36:28 he seems like he is fishing to know the answer to that, and she very quickly gave him the answer. Wouldn't that have been pretty important to use/withhold in questioning to know if this was planned or not? The wounds he inflicted on her SHOULD have been fatal.

2021-02-28 15:50:08 +0000 UTCJim can’t swim did an excellent Patreon video on this a few years ago. One of those cautionary tales that I’m extremely glad to have heard. I was considering doing shrooms for a while back at university. I’ve had some bad concussions and developed bi polar disorder. Had I not heard about this story, I’m absolutely certain that something extremely bad would’ve happened. More people need to hear about this story. Anyone who claims shrooms should be legalised really doesn’t understand how real this risk is. All it takes is one uninformed person like me to take a few and lose control completely. Weed definitely has a scary effect on schizophrenics, but otherwise it’s generally safe. The triggers of psychotic breaks on shrooms are not so clear though. When I have kids, I’ll definitely be showing them these videos.
