Gluten intolerance
Added 2017-08-20 12:07:18 +0000 UTCJust recently I discovered I am gluten intolerant, and am looking to get tested for celiacs disease. Unfortunately I do have a lot of the symptoms such as unexplained anaemia (for many years despite eating properly and even taking supplements), joint pain, fatigue, etc, so I do think there's a high chance I have it. This also was a complete game changer for dieting, since I would often be strongly discouraged after eating a gluten heavy meal and weigh up to 1kg more in a single day... despite counting my calories and exercising a lot. I now realise that was all water weight, when I cut out the most obvious sources of gluten it dropped back down after 2-3 days. Do any of you also have experience with gluten intolerance, or want to share any similar experiences in general? :)

2017-08-20 21:01:55 +0000 UTCHi, I hope you're doing not too bad at the moment. From what you've described above, it is best for you to get tested as soon as possible. When people with celiac disease consume gluten products, their body immune system will attack their small intestines and this potentially could cause malabsorption. Small intestine is the place where all the nutrients are absorbed, including zinc and deficiency in zinc leads to anemia (which probably causes you to feel light headed, joint pain, fatigue, etc.). Stay away from gluten stuffs from now on and take care!
