VR Video: Cyberpunk Cowgirl, Part 1 - Starring Alana

This is our first VR video! It is just over 6 minutes long and features mocap #031. My girlfriend's voice acting was processed with our girl Fuchsia, which I thought was a great fit for Alana. There are 4 video downloads, including 6K VR, 4K VR, 4K 2D POV, and 2K 2D POV. All versions are 90 FPS and are encoded at high bitrates. I tested these videos on both of my PC's. The 6K video is obviously the highest quality, but my older PC was not capable of playing it, so I rendered the 4K version, which it played perfectly. The 2D POV video is something that I wanted to include for all my patrons, since some people don't have VR headsets. The 2K version is the only one that is encoded as H.264, so it should run fine on devices like you smart phone.

The funscript for this video was generated from the motion capture, and then carefully optimized for single-axis toys. I tested this extensively with The Handy to make sure the motion was both accurate and enjoyable. There are currently two versions, Version 1 and V1 Exaggerated. The exaggerated version has higher peaks and lower valleys, for those who like getting extra motion from their toys. I am working on a multi-axis script for the SR6, OSR2, and SSR1, which will be released before the end of the month.

The mocap and voice acting was a huge project by itself, particularly the face capture and lip sync. But I had to take a lot of additional details into consideration when making this into a video. Details like light and shadow resolution, bloom/glow amount, hair physics, breast physics, camera position and angle, cubemap distortion, 90 FPS physics rendering, audio sync, encoder settings and bitrate, etc, made this a multiple-month project that took a LOT of effort. Just the rendering alone took my PC 7 hours to complete! These are details that I don't usually worry about when making mocap scenes. Now that much of that work is out of the way, making additional videos like this one won't be nearly as difficult!

The next video we release this month will feature the same mocap, but with a different model and a different voice conversion. We plan to release 3 or 4 versions, with a slightly different style and feel for each one. For example, one will not have music and a light show, and another will have totally different lighting.
