Hey guys! I'm thinking about something. That something is, for the $10+ tiers, writing up a bit of a quick summary of my thought processes as I'm composing each page. So for example, explaining why the comic is laid out the way it is.

I thought about this because of a question I was asked in the stream today. Here's a sample of what it would be like:

On this page, I chose to have that middle panel to be long to bring the attention away from the discussion and over to what Tam and Oake are doing, because they've been absent for a few pages and they need to be reintroduced. Plus it gives some more time and space, implying they've been at this a while. Also it gives me lots of room for conversational balloons for Briar and Belfry.
Then I switch down to the closeup of Tamberlane when she hears she's being talked about, to continue to pull attention in.
The panels at the bottom are slanted to imply that rather than being stable, it's a tense moment. But it's only slightly slanted because it's a subtle tension.
Likewise, the closeup on Briar gives her both a moment to pause and linger on her sour expression.
Then in the last panel she's leaving, and her good mood has reversed, so her pose is contra flow.
And she's further away because she's also creating emotional distance.
TFW you don't actually realize how much thought you put into your comic pages lol
