Yeah, I kind of went into this feeling like it was just going to be a standalone so I think that helped it sit better for me. The trilogy was far more story heavy.

2025-05-28 16:00:44 +0000 UTCI would say that I was surprised that the director said that they wanted it to feel like you were watching an 80s slasher movie versus a modern day slasher movie trying to pay homage. It didn’t feel like that. I know it cost more money to do nowadays, but I wish that they would’ve even filmed this on actual film versus digital

2025-05-28 15:59:51 +0000 UTCI love campy horror. Especially from the 80s. The Intruder, Prom Night 2 and 3. Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3, or Silent Night Deadly Night. This didn't take me back to the 80s. The characters felt too contemporary. An 80s movie and no Aqua Net hairspray? I can't say I had a lot of fun. If you're going to give me an electrocution death, I need 80s style blue electricity.

2025-05-28 15:07:28 +0000 UTCMaybe people have hate for it because the original trilogy had a deeper story with sarah fier. For me, horror doesn't always have to be deep and meaningful. I love a good old slasher where you watch a bunch of dummy's get slaughtered. And I loved the 80's theme
