Yeah it will be interesting! I did have a chance to play it a bit in a blind kumite, but it's probably one of the Raizing games I am least familiar with.

I'll be interested to get your take on this one Mark, as I have very mixed feelings about it. About three years ago I was getting tired of modern game design, so I downloaded a full mame ROM and started playing the arcade games of my youth. After a while I started digging, looking for hidden gems I had missed as a kid. That's when I discovered Toaplan, Cave and Raizing and my love for shmups began. Dimahoo was one of the first shmups I played (probably because it was on Capcom hardware) and I was pretty quickly hooked. I was also terrible at it. So I went on to other games, learned how to play shmups and got a couple clears. When I came back to it after playing Garrega and Batrider I figured I'd really enjoy it But I don't. The presentation is probably Raizing's best, a fantastic looking game. But I find it to be a pretty miserable slog to actually play.
