I'm very excited for mechanical star astra! Also sneek preview, I have a podcast ep with bog coming out soon!

Oh jeez that's crazy! Luckily they have spared my arcade stadium review so far!

Oh for sure that's it, they want to control the messaging on their game. But I also wonder if there's something about Japanese copyright law that has them acting this way too. Arika has done the same thing over Tetris. Or, if this is a broader shift in the medium - games are the biggest form of entertainment in the world now, and music, movies & sports all control how their IP are broadcast.

That's pretty sad but I feel the real reason is that the emulation is really poor and Capcom doesn't what people to find out easily. Comparing it to playing Progear in Shumparch is like night and day.

two of my favorites in the running this month espgaluda 2 and shippu mahou. at times they feel criminally underrated for as little discussion i see about them

malaise

I wonder if the key words there are "using our game footage." Nintendo are like that, they'll come after people with copyright claims unless they're literally using footage from their trailers.

...and Capcom's Video clearly reads "Creative Content: You may make walkthroughs, tutorials, Let’s Play, speedruns, reviews, reactions, instructionals, and other “commentary” style videos using our game footage to be shared on YouTube, Twitch.tv, your website, or other video/streaming sites. The associated step-by-step commentary should be tied to the live game play being shown, and should provide instructional or educational value, or other benefits." so I'm wondering if Studio Mudprints has a case, I didn't see the livestream but if Mark's video is a review ala walkthrough then Capcom should be fine with it, unless they've turned into Tanoshimasu and doesn't want people playing their games.

Brian Reboot

Not sure entirely how the situation went down, but you might want to put Progear on the back burner - looks like Capcom hit Studio Mudprints with multiple copyright claims for streaming it. Their statement is here: https://www.youtube.com/post/UgytaZ4Y5sP9gRuEi6F4AaABCQ

Shoutout to whoever is nominating REDPULSE, gotta support Boghog and the dev community. That said, there are so many good choices this month, I would love to see Cambria Sword reviewed too, but I will be surprised if Progear doesn't win since it's on everyone's mind at the moment.
