Great video, once again. If VIvziepop actually has a vision with the eyes and wants to do something with them, then the answer could be a couple of different things. The eyes could just be an uknown entity watching them. I remember Vivziepop sharing a statement that there is a 'big bad' in hell who will be introduced in the series. Her name is Roo. She could be the one spying on them, although I'm not sure if I believe this. The eyes could also be heaven watching them, but there are holes in that. The designs just don't match that of heaven. You'd think you might see some brighter colors to indicate the angelic power, but they are just plain red eyes. Also, why would heaven need eyes to spy on Hell, when Adam could just spawn an orb to do it that way instead. Personally I believe a theory that they are the souls of the dead after an extermination. It makes sense on why there are so many of them. The thing holding it apart is the eyes that you can see in Heaven. I assume there are no dead souls there, so how do they exist? I remember seeing a Fandom page stating that this theory is true, with a link to one of Vivziepop's streams, where she flat out says it. But I can't for the life of me find it. I don't know where it went... I can agree with you on being disengaged when design elements don't mean a thing. If the eyes never end up being explained, then it's just a part of Vivian. Eyes. Let's just hope the story is good!

Very happy to see you discuss this show! I believe “earnest” is the ideal world to describe the show’s appeal. There is something subconsciously appealing when a piece if work feels authentic, which allows the viewer to disregard some amount of “technical quality” for what appears to be pure ludic energy. Describing them as “toys” works, because it is a show made to encourage the viewers to engage with it, write fanfiction and make OCs and see themselves in it. Something I had in mind during the whole watch of the show was how it was set in Hell, and not let’s say an Alcoholic Anonymous Group in a village with a restrictive church and a naive but well-intentioned nepo baby running it. The “Hell” element seems to be the most important hinge of the show’s appeal, even when it’s not as visually relevant (doesn’t look that much like other depictions of it). I’m not sure, obviously, but it seems to arise from christianity being based on shame as its primary emotion, and the dramatism of the setting as the ultimate punishment being turnt into a comedy bit having a shame-repellent effect. It invites a certain viewer, let’s say randomly a neurodivergent adult that spent their whole life ashamed of their childish traits and masking them, to let go of their shame and engage with the “toys”, with no fear of being judged or attacked for it. It also enforces, sometimes in a cringy way, the idea of being “mature”, through swears and excessive sex. For a casual, NT viewer, it is offputting and strange. But for the random person I described, it assures them it is safe to engage with the fandom and the show, and it will not chop off your maturity level. You can make your OC and your mpreg because this is hell and we are mocking christianity anyways, then leave the computer and go back to your mortgage and your adult job, your adult relationships and responsabilities unscathered. At least for me, this is the main appeal of the show. It manages to break the shame glass in a way nothing else seems to be able to, and it allows me to indulge in its consumption. It manages to strip me of my super-ego picking on me for being cringe. The maximalism invites me to disregard rationality as this is clearly a work of passion so I don’t have to feel stupid if I missed on a detail or forgot a plot point. The setting invites me to at least attempt to disregard christian programming about being shameful. Everything invites me to let go, safely assuring me I can always go back to adulthood.

Regarding the eyes; I remember seeing somewhere that the Eyes on at least the buildings and structures might be the consequence of a sinner/demon dying. I don’t remember where the source of that was so i could be wrong.
