A prime example of this mentality of wanting to be accepted by white people, especially white liberals, is in the TV show Black-ish with the character of Dre (played by Anthony Anderson) always trying to appease his "white" boss and coworkers while at the same time trying to berate them with conversations about race. I remember an episode where Dre had a conversation with Pops (played by Laurence Fishbourne) and Pops stated something along the lines of Dre working in Corporate America always worrying about what white people think. This is very true amongst our people and TV shows like Black-ish do a very good job of illustrating that. Now as for the concept of wanting to come together with the Caucasian, that is illustrated in the show Mixed-ish in which Tracee Ellis Ross's character Rainbow as a teenager grows up in a "mixed" race family with Caucasian father and a so-called black mother. I don't know if you plan on doing so, but a breakdown of both shows would be very much appreciated. Once again, awesome video!!
