This has been a long time coming, but we are finally in the wrap up process for Project Cappuccino. Doku has finished all of the main artwork for the game and I am in the stages of completing any remaining bug fixes and polishing. It’s time for us to talk about the future of Tentakero and what will be happening over the next couple of months.
Release Date
Project Cappuccino has an estimated release date of October 25th, 2019. If for any reason, we fail to meet this release date, we will instead be going with November 15th. Potential reasons for missing it are too much delayed voice acting, marketing problems, or issues with the storefront’s review processes.
We will be reaching out to those of you that have pledged up to $5 over the course of development once we know which storefronts we’ll be on, so that you can pick where you’d like to receive your copy of the completed game.
Steam & Other Store Fronts
Our application process for Steam has already been started and we’re also in the process of contacting other websites for distribution. The places that are practically confirmed are itch.io, GameJolt and DLSite. Websites such as Nutaku and Fakku are on our list to contact, though we want to first make sure that they don’t require exclusivity or extensive contracts that could hinder our release.
Pledge Deadline & Tier Changes
With a release date in mind, the deadline for getting a copy of the game through Patreon is going to be October 25th. Once the game is out in the wild, our tiers will be changing to accommodate an upcoming transitional period.
If you have pledged a lifetime total of $5 or more before October 25th, you WILL be getting the completed game on the platform of your choice!
Transitional Period
As most of you can imagine, it takes some time to go from a concept, to a playable prototype of a game. Our earliest Cappuccino prototype took us about about 2 months to put together. (Though to be fair, we were completely new to the whole thing and learning as we went.)
Because of this, the rewards that our Patreon page offers will be changing after Project Cappuccino’s release. We’re not 100% sure about what the new tiers will entail just yet, but we’ll do our best to make them worthwhile for everyone. It’s also extremely likely that they will change again when a playable prototype is available for our next game and we have a clearer picture of what we’ll be doing for the next few years.
Not to mention that we need to take a little breather because to say that Project Cappuccino has burned us out is an understatement...
Post Release Plans
We’ve mentioned in the past that we’ll be putting together a free update for everyone that owns the game. This update will contain three main additions and will release 1 to 2 months after the game’s launch, so somewhere between November to January.
In a sense, work on Project Cappuccino isn’t finished until this update is out, but we’ll be switching our schedule to prioritize our next title and work on this update on the side.
Final Note
We’ll keep everyone posted if anything changes in our release plans, but we’ve got an insanely busy time ahead of us.
Thank you for being there during our journey. Developing this game has changed our lives and put us on a new career path. None of this would have been possible without our supporters and we can’t thank you enough! While this may be the end of Project Cappuccino, it’s only the beginning for Tentakero!
