Progress Log - 3/9/18 - Save/Load & Skin Tone

Hey everyone, we’re back with another Progress Log! We didn’t have one last Friday because our v1.3.0 release fell almost exactly on the same day and most of what we would have talked about was included in the game and change log anyway.

Here’s how things are looking so far this month.

Vanis:

Doku has taken the reins on the story content, so while I’ve been waiting on some writing and artwork to be completed, I decided to tackle the Save/Load system and get that in place. (And it's coming out great!)

The foundation for it is working and at this point I just need to debug and make sure there aren’t any real issues. Some graphical components are still in the works such as the delete icon and the unlocked character portraits.

When opening the File Select menu, the currently existing save files will display the following information.

• Player Name
• Player Gender
• Player Skin Tone
• Money
• Unlocked Characters
• Current in-game day

Additionally, the background of the save file will change according to where you saved last. To start, there will only be 3 save file slots, but I’ll be adding more once we have the story a little more complete and it’s necessary to have extra slots.

Also, our file extension is .cafe!

Dokucchi:

As Vanis mentioned, I’ve been in charge of writing the story, as well as the usual artwork aspects.

This week, I tackled the Player Skin Tone options and managed to knock that out relatively fast. Vanis just has to implement this in game now while I work on some CG’s that I’ll be sharing in a second.

Players will now have the option of choosing between these skin tones and it will affect the CG’s in which the player appears such as the Mira dream, forest encounter with Sophie, as well as any player body parts in the NSFW minigame.

On the story side, I’ve been going back to polishing the dialogue to make it flow a little better, and I’m also adding the story route where you are able to follow Colette into the woods instead of Sophie.

Just a heads up: Colette doesn’t take kindly to being followed.
