I miss your content so much

Andrew Sykes

I truly believe this woman was wrongfully executed. I think the way she looked in conjunction with her behavior and lack of education were the deciding factors to end her life. I don’t believe anyone listened to anything she had to say, and the moment she gained the moniker “Monster,” her fate was sealed

I have a lot of empathy and sympathy for her. I was first interested in the movie but the fact people made millions off of her and the story and as far as I know, nobody close to her legitimately made anything just tarnishes it all and makes me more cynical about it. I however am shocked that there seem to be a ton of people online that believe her about everything.

Brandon White

Anyone interested in this case, I would recommend that you all watch at the very least the last documentary. It is gripping.

Brandon White

What's the password, or why is my password not being accepted

Definitely agree she was NOT a psychopath. For one, she gave herself up to save her girlfriend. A psychopath wouldn’t do that. BPD fits better.

Danielle Folsom

This poor thing did not have a chance in hell at a normal life from the moment she was born. But who are we as humans, flawed and all, have a say in taking someone's life? BUTTTT , an eye for an eye too so IDK! Ahhhh. I just feel bad for her.

This is such a hard thing to watch. On one hand, I know she's killed a lot of people, but on the other hand, the blatant misogyny the prosecutor is laying out in his speech about prostitution and greed just feels... completely untethered from reality or reason. I don't know how much she lied about, but I just don't understand how, in the moment, you can listen to this woman recount a horrifying tale about being brutally sexually assaulted and threatened with death, and talk to her like she's just an idiot who did this to herself (40:39-50:20). If I was on the legal team opposing her, I would be concerned that his tactic of rudeness might actually backfire and work against his attempt at making her look worse to the jury. Luckily for the prosecutor, the jury being almost all middle-aged christian white folks meant she probably would have been condemned from the start. I wonder how differently this trial would have gone if it happened today.

I found the prosecutor's closing remarks so derogatory. He was only focused on vilifying prostitutes. Who engages in prostitution because they enjoy controlling men? It's quite literally the other way around.

The password is given in the description. I just found it myself :)

does anyone know why I cant access even after pledging? It says enter password which I have been

The prosecutions closing arguments are so dated. "She wasn't a child" - except ofcourse when she was engaging in sex work as a child. "That's what all prostitutes are about" - sweepingly opinionated comments blaming women. Really strange to watch these years on.

The system failed her when she was adopted by her alcoholic grandparents.

Is there an rss link for another podcast platform? I can’t listen to this unless my phone is open.

i cant watch the video, cant even type in a password to it, its just a padlock in the corner of the video window but under the the video it says it's unlocked

Sorry daft question, my password to my patron account isn't allowing me to view the video. Why is that?

is passwrod to watch video differnt to password to account

I have an odd understanding for her. On one hand its difficult to argue 6 deaths as self-defense. On the other, sometimes victimizers just single particular people out. Being a queer sex worker in the early 90's was basically having a giant target on your forehead. The case against her did not age well. And particularly chilling part is that her testimony seemed oddly based in Reality. It seems to have happened to her, but I'm not sure if it was the guy in question who did it.

I would love to assault that prosecutor and then blame himself for his assault because of his choice to become a prosecutor, fuck you

i wish this case had a retrial

Am I the only person for whom the link leads to a Van Morrisson song?

It's so interesting to see your take on this famous case!

Danshifackao

WONDERFULLY edited. Highly enjoying these videos from you!

Danshifackao

How can I watch this?

Not the same quality content as in all the previous cases.

I think she was a very sick person with a broken upbringing whose pain manifested in murder after having to defend herself. In the words of the Defense "How do those who are unimpaired understand what it is like to live life impaired."

We've gotten to the point where we excuse pretty much anything. None of her childhood experiences excuse her premeditated murder of men who did nothing to her.

Her case has always really stuck with me. She was brutalized from birth and never had a chance. I hope she is at peace.

Kit D

1:06:37 "...cleanse my spirit in the name of Jesus Christ." *thunder clap*

S Shirai

Folks, we are looking at someone who quite literally never stood a chance. She was a survivor from a very young age. If it was self defense than our justice system has one again failed

She didn’t stood a chance her environment

I feel absolutely awful for this woman, I can’t believe she was put to death. Unfathomable.

When she is testifying it pans out and the judge is slumped way down looking like he’s sleeping. It’s hilarious. She is not mentally stable. They should have tried mental insanity because she was that for sure. Had a hard life but was crazy.

The password for each video is located in the description, just copy and paste

the password is in the description just under the title of the video :)

Why all videos ask me for a password? I put my password and they say it's not the right one!!! I'm confused. Please help!

"your honor, their client is simply a prostitute. I rest my case"

"She isn't a victim because she is a prostitute. She chose to be a prostitute." Jesus fucking christ dude.

29?????

Diagnosed BPD. Dead on.

what's the title of the movie?

Tyrias doesnt look like 29

I get what you’re saying but she still kinda killed 7 people under strange circumstances 😭

Listening to Aileen starting to cry at 1:01:28, just got me. Poor woman, the jurors didn't even acknowledge her presence at that time. She didn't get ANY chance to have a good life and she was not an evil person, but a battered woman. I just hope that she felt like she was sailing away with the rock and got back with Jesus Christ like on Independence Day!

kiu (aka kirstine)

i saw monster when i was 12 in 2003. the whole time im watching this doc i couldnt stop thinking about that movie. lo and behold this was what the movie was based on lol. sad film :(

Shane Simpson

This case being so highly publicized for decades is reason enough to not support the death penalty. She is very obviously mentally ill; a lot of people the state murders are.

I believe that at first it might have been self defense but slowly turned to hatred to particular man and she believed that it was some kind of revenge or smth and that's why she killed them. Just an idea

Disgusting. All the time he had to say prostitute. What the f does he know, she might had no chance than do that. Trying to support her bad image mainly by stating 465654 that she is a prostitute.

when new video?

Use the password that is under the video

Why can't I watch any of these videos? It says my password is incorrect, but clearly I can use it to login.

Well said. <3

You have to feel some measure of sympathy for her. The trauma she went through in her early life would completely wreck any of us. That fight-or-flight response is real, "triggers" are a real thing for folks with post-traumatic psychiatric issues, too. My personal theory (which, obviously, is 100% unprovable) is that there was some sort of triggering sexual assault with the first victim and she got a sense of power she'd never had before when she was able to actually outsmart and outmove him and kill him. She got wrapped up in that, maybe got addicted to that feeling of power, and then the series of murders that followed started. What she went through as a child definitely does not excuse killing anyone, except in any case where her life was at stake and it was in self-defense (we'd expect this of any person). But I think this sort of trauma is actually prevalent in a lot of the stories we see on this channel - it's just that, with most people, it's less dramatic than Aileen's and the stories are not told. Especially with male perpetrators, I think we forget to extend them some basic compassion, knowing that the vast majority of them were not born monsters.

Heath Gardner

She's got crazy eyes...

At the end of the day I do feel bad for Eileen. The first murder was probably a self defense, but I don’t think the others were. So at the end of the day, she got what she deserved.

How is that disingenuous? It's literally working a job, with sex as yhe labor. What she did for a living AS A CHILD is much more stressful work than a cashier at Target.

Her life was a living hell. Trauma after trauma. It obviously does not excuse her from her crimes, but still. To call her a monster and to perceive her victims as martyrs of her crimes is a stretch. I couldn’t believe The man she said violently raped her was previously charged for rape in another state.. and that was not taken into account? This whole story makes me sick.

It's all in the framing. This video puts such a big emphasis on the killer's psyche and it was just as much about her mental deterioration as it was her crimes, so I'm not surprised people sympathise with her. I do too, because it really is just sad to see her waste away like that (and I fundamentally oppose the death penalty). That doesn't necessarily mean people are justifying or excusing her actions.

This was extremely good. I feel so sorry for Eileen. She never had a chance. I do hope she gets to come back with Jesus in a big ship just like the movie Independence Day.

oh wow lol

passwords in the description!

It keeps telling me my password is incorrect but its the same one I used to log into my account, am I supposed to use a different password?

The password is below it

Yes

Why is it asking for a password to view this vid?

Cicco

Do I lose access to the videos if my subscription runs out ?

nizoubizou

This woman murders 7 people and there are actually people who have sympathy for her? Nearly every serial killer had significant issues as children and young adults - it doesn't justify their actions. Some of you need your heads checked.

i feel so bad for her i feel like she was lying about it actually being first degree murder she needed help and the system failed her

Marilyn Bueno

It's jrf514, just under the title of the video.

How do I access this what’s the password?!

It's very possible that the first murder was self defense but it's honestly so difficult to understand what really happened as she keeps changing her story, I do believe she needed mental help and never got it, but the other murders makes it very hard to believe all where self defense in MY opinion I don't think the rest of the murders where self defense, maybe in her state of mind she really thought it was self defense but in reality killed them all in cold blood.

That's what it seems like to me as well

It seems likely that the first one was self defense but 7 self defenses seems statistically unlikely, although possible given her situation as you pointed out. The tragedy of her life almost certainly made her this way. I'm not sure it would've been possible to revert her back to a degree of normalcy. I'm also not sure whether spending the rest of her life in a psych ward after a succesful insanity plea would've been much better than death. The whole case seems tragic and her death seems almost merciful given her awful life.

The password for the video is in the description, below the title.

I thought the same thing! There’s a password below the video title that you type in, not your account password. Each video has it’s own password

Tragic story. Her background was just heartbreaking, every child deserves loving parents not the hell she went through. Having to become a prostitute at age 15 just to survive? Awful. The system truly failed her and in a just world she never should have ended up in those circumstances. As far as the murders, only she knows what happened, I am definitely open to the idea that the first murder was self-defense. And I don't think it's impossible that all of them were self-defense. Considering the manner in which she encountered these men, is it that big of a reach that in a span of a whole year 7 guys got aggressive with her? How many men did she meet in that time? What about the beyond reasonable doubt thing? What evidence exactly did the jury have that the first guy wasn't self-defense? The jury and prosecution part angered me so much. She got utterly screwed by the justice system. Add the obvious mental issues and the media lynch mob and it's just sad to watch. This isn't me saying she is innocent, she probably isn't but I truly hope if the murders happened today, she'd be treated more fairly seeing how mental issues are now understood.

I'm also being asked to enter a password and then being told its incorrect, have changed my password and its still not working! Did you manage it?

When I click the video it asks for my password then it tells me my password is incorrect. I’m hoping this ain’t some kind of phishing scam. Changing my password now

CamCritical

Thank you for having the balls to use the word "prostitution" as opposed to the disingenuous "sex work" favored by the privileged woke.

Life is just a DNA lottery. You could be born into a loving, supportive home that allows you to be whatever you want in life, or you could be born into an abusive, tortuous home empty of love. Some of society will have little empathy for you if you happen to lose the genetic lottery. It's easy to point the finger and condemn, if you come from a healthy home where your needs were met. It's harder to feel emotion for a stranger's tragic backstory. Funnily enough the christians on the jury were quick to condemn her, when people get up to all shady stuff behind closed doors. Following a religion doesn't make you any more perfect than the rest of us wretched souls! Wherever she is has to be better than the life she lived. Seems like pain and suffering just followed her.

Clodagh

Shouldn't have flown then either. This trial is disgusting.

Agreed. A lifetime of sex work in Florida during the most active serial killer decades in history...and they really can't comprehend that 7 people may have actually tried to kill her? It's really not that hard to believe. As for her decision not to go to the police? She was a sex worker. Of course she wasn't going to the police. Unbelievable.

A very sad video indeed. The ending (when she smiles) is heart-breaking.

Am I the only one who thinks Aileen, out of SPITE, switched her story to paint herself like a raging serial killer the courts & justice system made her out to be as an act of revenge against the people who mischaracterized her? She seems to allude to this before her death but doesn't concretely state it. It looked like she was trying to make sure she died a wrongful death to make sure the people who created her path to execution live with the fact they killed an innocent woman. Considering her obsession with going to heaven and constant religious references, it seems she is certain that the ones who let her become executed wrongfully will end up in hell and end up paying for their sins.

Duh! Sorted :-)

I can't play this , what am I doing wrong?

please re command us to do it!

JJ

I recommand you don't ctrl + c password it didn't work for me

Reading the wiki on Miss W, it's just a tragic and terrible life, made worse by a justice system that failed her. (No evidence of Mr Mallory's past crimes, for instance, which supported her story, was ever introduced) To say nothing of her diagnosis, and combined with being on death row for ten years. That's traumatic for anyone, let alone someone with (possibly untreated) mental illness. Her maniacal laughter was, in my opinion, akin to gallows humor. With a life so devoid of love or warmth, what else can you do about your tragedies except laugh at them?

Yuna

The password is literally right below the video. Nothing was stolen.

Yuna

Video is still locked for me. I paid for this subscription hours ago and I still do not have access. Thanks for stealing my money

*watching intro* Man idk who 'Miss W' is but seeing Aileen Wuornos makes me hope for a video on her. But... she's probably too mainstream for JCS... *watching further* Oh. Oh heck yes this is a treat! *American Horror Story: Hotel Soundtrack Intensifies*

Yuna

The fact that her father hung himself in jail over a pedophilia sentence, and that her grandmother passed from liver failure, should be enough proof that her story of childhood abuse was true. I understand that she has genetic mental illness and her acts were purely out of rage due to her history, but I'm curious what the exact stipulations are for a death sentence. Why is super max prison a sentence for some, but was not for her?

WTF?

I feel like it was all self defense. I feel she should have gotten off with no jail time. She seemed like she genuinely cared about people, even the videographer at the end, the laughs she shared with her attorney. And in the end, saying all those lies, 'I killed them, it wasn't self defense', I feel was her way to try and make the videographer's documentary more successful as a way to do something nice for him. I got the sense she was pretty much telling close enough to the truth the whole video. Lol and that "guy" she murdered had a previous record of violent rape. I think the jury didn't like lesbians, prostitutes, or mental health issues and judged her accordingly. This video really makes me sad.

Incredible video, thank you. I can't help but feel for her. Something about her just endears her to me.

I find myself exaggerating my mental health issues, or what I'm experiencing if I'm trying to explain why I didn't do something, or how my mental health affects my life. I've learned that a lot of people don't understand, or sometimes care unless you make it sound extra painful. I feel like I always have to do that if I want people to take me seriously, and not just assume I'm making excuses for being lazy, or just not wanting to do something. And I know I'm definitely not the only person who does this.

Z The Cat

The defense seriously botched jury selection. You can just look at that crowd of karens and see that they won't have any sympathy.

Daniel Bak

Is he moving all content? I figured it was all content from now on.

I just subscribed to the patreon and saw that you were moving all content to YT. I will stay a Patron for a few months because the hours of entertainment you have provided with your free content is easily worth the money. Keep up the amazing work!

Wild that at that time you could still possibly think a christian would avoid the death penalty. Today any heavily christian jury would give you the death penalty for a broken tail light

That ending hit real hard

Deex I'm with you on this one.

The misogny and lack of mental health awareness in the court case was sickening. It is wrong that she murdered those men but what drove her there is tragic as well. She really needed mental health help. Her final years show how much mental pressure and suffering she was under in solitary confinement. It seemed like her mental state completely deterioated by the end. And the moments she tears up retelling the rape in court, even if some details are fabricated, are heart wretching. She might have made some parts up to make the rape seem more like a 'real rape' as people didn't believe someone could be raped unless it was horifically violent in the past. And the fact that she was a prostitute only added to the stigma around what kind of person she was.

Chocolate latte sprinkles

I have a theory about this, I’m just speculating, but it might be a ‘fun’ theory. Her childhood trauma is definitely true, which probably triggered the severe bpd. I think the rape and murder of Richard actually went the way it went (with a few manipulated details). She enjoyed the power and feeling it gave her, like a “revenge” on her past and the past trauma men gave her when she was younger. She liked this feeling so much that she (maybe sub)conciously went out to find more ‘rapists’ or disgusting men and proceeded to kill them, hence why in her last interview she said “I protected a lot of other women”

As usual, quality that would rival things on the big screen. Even though this is only the first of 28 vids I can already say this is probably one of the best $5 I have ever spent.

seeing her state of mind deteriorate like that was truly bizarre to watch.

Bruce Michael

Legit terrifying eyes

jonnyboy162

29?!!!

Yeah same, I'm used to turning things off when they mention BPD since it's almost always demonised and misrepresented, im glad JCS isn't one of those channels :)

V

i know you wrote this 9mo ago, but I think you're very naive to believe that today things are better. The world is arguably much darker today than when these murders occured.

Poor woman. "They became my friends" so desperate and starved of healthy attention that she truly believed these Johns became her friends. What a world we live in....

I have Borderline Personality Disorder, and I appreciate BPD people not being generally painted as evil. Great stuff JCS!

Check to see if your phone direction is locked or not. If you have an iPhone this is your drop down right hand corner screen where the flashlight, WiFi, airplane mode are located. There’s a lock button for rotation. Can’t help you on patreon freezing or kicking you out, I didn’t download the app and just use mobile browsing login and it does the same thing. But I can turn it sideways.

Brianna Waldorf

As a Floridian, there ain’t shit to do in Daytona. I get why there’s so many sex workers. You gotta make rent snd working at the Walmart ain’t gonna cut it.

Brianna Waldorf

Good on ya Jim! Your content is bloody brilliant! So glad I found your patreon at long last.

Can someone please let me know who to fix this video player app? No matter what I do I can’t watch the video sideways it’s always upright, this is extremely frustrating. Also Patreon has a lot of work to do with their app, it’s feels like a website inside of an app not an actual app it’s horrifically slow writing this comment took forever bc it keeps freezing and scrolling through comments is very frustrating due to all the freezing, very poorly made application extremely disappointing

Thank you.

Lol that's all I was thinking

Jim .. You’re a god materials... thank you for those masterpieces

"She's not a victim because she's a prostitute." HOOO BOY that would not fly today.

I thought her love for her girlfriend was telling. I am not sure if true psychopaths can love like normal people but from what I know about Eileen and Tara, it seems her feelings were genuine. Murdering people is not the route to take in life but her life was insanely cruel and out of control. She hated men, she preyed on them ruthlessly but she’s paid her debt to society with her life. I’d say she is squared up

Sarah

did u even watch the video lol

"Giving her a mere right to exist" haha like she did all her victims? She should have been tortured before death how she claimed to have been.

ridiculous. No sympathy for serial killers, no matter the circumstances. And yes, contrary to popular believe, women are just as responsible for the things they do as men are.

RIP. Started crying at the end. God bless your soul Eileen.

First time patreoner! Thank you Jim..I understand BPD more now. And that last clip of her genuinely smiling to the video being played in court was great. Funny how a serial killer can still pull on the heart strings..

I feel sorry for her what a life to have led

51:39 what the fuck what the fuck

"she is not a victim because she chose to be a prostitute" my jaw actually fucking dropped

Daww

Absolutely fucking tragic. This video makes me glad that mental illness is more of a concern nowadays than it used to be. She killed, she made horrible decisions, she’s a liar, but she did not deserve what she was given. JCS you never disappoint. This one moved me to tears. Buuuuut that could be the alcohol too lol.

I totally believed her up until those last couple clips...mental illnesses will wreck your life. Being in solitary+prison prob didn't help either.

I'm totally not going to be insanely depressed after watching this or anything :') haha great video guys!

Joel Dellavalle

wtf we feeling sympathy for serial killers now

No. That would cheapen this well-produced documentary.

Aileen clearly loved her ex, she was no psychopath.

So, I live here. I see the Last Resort Bar and the hotel where she stayed and I’m just, like, “Ah, Daytona. Famous for all the wrong reasons.” Prostitution is still rampant along US1.

it's horribly sad that Aileen along with many other victims of abuse truly see the world that way. that sentiment is so compelling to me, she probably not only feared for her life during every moment of her encounters with those 7 men, but every moment of her life. terribly terribly sad.

So that explains one of em. What about the rest? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to argue. I actually find Aileen probably the most sympathetic figure among well known serial killers.

liteally the saddest shit ever

I believe that the most compelling piece of evidence in this case is the jail time Mallory served for doing the exact same thing she said he did to her (and may I mention without having any actual knowledge of this ever occurring). There's really nothing any logically thinking individual can argue against this, and so the verdict here should be quite clear.

The testimony makes the car sound giant, how is there so much room for all that to happen

YoungDumplin

35!? I thought she was 55, and that is after I had taken account for the fact that she's probably done a lot of drugs.

Great documentary on a fascinating case. Wanted to note that at 1:22:34, that's actually a photo of Aileen's biological mother Diane, not Aileen. I remembered it from Broomfield's second film.

When she said "this world is nothing but evil and all of us are full of evil in one way or another" that is so very true. I'm so sorry Aileen that you became the victim of the world's unfairness.

Those were city miles

So excited to be able to support you!

I feel so sad for Aileen. I truly hope she's in a better place now, and that she is somewhere where she's loved.

When the defence attorney told about Aileens childhood and youth and we can hear her sobbing (at 1:01), I just lost it. I come from a dysfunctional family with abuse, neglect, alcoholism, murder-attempt (on me and my sister) and my moms suicide. I've been through years of therapy and it took me many years to realize that it wasn't my fault. I've been diagnosed from everything between BPD to PTSD and have dealt with depressions most of my life since my mothers suicide, since then the BPD has been removed from my diagnosis. I knew that something was "wrong", but didn't know why or what besides I tried suicide myself as 14 years old. I could have been Lee, but somehow I broke the pattern, but I know how hard the struggle is and how neglect, rejections, belittling and how family feuds takes the spirit away from a person. I feel so sad for Aileen – no-one should endure what she had been through. Her lover Tyria threw her under the bus and that took away the last of her spirit. I hope she rests in peace 💕

kiu (aka kirstine)

I always felt there was more to this case and her state of mind, but I was under the impression she suffered from something along the lines of a schizotypal personality disorder. The BPD angle is interesting, especially considering the amount of sexual trauma she's been through, and the clear presence of impulse and emotion. Great video. You did a good job taking on the more complex facets of this case, too; faith, gender, sex, etc., and their influence in the jury's decision as well as the court of public opinion.

Let me guess. Your probably also 1 of those POS who keeps nagging Jim needs to upload more

I remember watching movie monster based on this incident.

The only reason why anyone cares about her troubled past is because she was a women. If she was a man, no one would have given a flying fart.

Based on the level of psychological torture solidarity/death row creates, it seems she partly convinced herself that everyone condemning her was right about her, in order to appease the chaos and frustration in her own mind. Plus, if she really is innocent and had to sit there in poor conditions, completely alone, only able to stew on her misfortune, it makes complete sense why she'd have gone so crazy and why'd she would be so enraged, for everyone she's come across in her life neglecting/ignoring her.

Sierra Rizzati

Excellent idea from the defense attorney to cast an all Christian jury for his lesbian prostitute client facing murder charges.

she literally seemed like a reasonable person and i even sorta believed her until you showed the documentary clips. that woman was so incredibly unhinged? i am so genuinely puzzled as to what goes on in these people's brains and it must be awful to live in your own head like this. a prison in and of itself. i don't understand how she wasn't in a psychiatry? how tf is it ethically ok to put those ppl in a normal prison? i get that she's dome fucked up stuff but that's no reason to throw the law's morals out of the window damn

You can access patreon from your pc! :D it's the best way to watch

Royce Guy

Hello will you be putting these on YouTube ? I hate watching from my phone. Just wondering

Masterful conclusion. Bravo! The only way it could have been better is with the Curb Your Enthusiasm closing music.

Ben

I have BPD, but we're all different. I learned things about severe BPD that I didn't know from this. I hope you don't feel like just because you have the same diagnosis that you are a bad person. It's an often demonized disorder, but literally it's just an unfortunate combination of nature/nurture. My therapist once told me that it's incredible that I didn't turn out to be a monster... I don't know whether to like or hate that statement, but perhaps it means there's more to the whole thing. That darkness and extremity isn't everyone.

as someone with bpd this made me feel shit about myself lol i don't wanna turn out like her

wow ended this feeling strangely sad. i'll think about her for a while. good video as always

Just a guess, might have something to Amy's "coming to Jesus" in her finale days. It is interesting that she made no mention of it during trials even though she decided to wear a prominent gold cross throughout.

Tyler Hoppe

Wow, incredibly insightful comment. For this comment alone yes, I can finally understand why she deserved life without parole instead of the death penalty.

Why are you guys spouting religious nonsense?

Our savior is God, not a man. Worship the creator of Jesus, not Jesus. Jesus is a man and messenger of God. Not God himself. May God guide you to pure monotheism that all the prophets and messengers tought.

When one has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Almighty one doesn’t need a priest.

I Love Aileen Carol Lee Pittman Wuornos and her Victims and Pray they are All with the Only Savior & Redeemer, Jesus Christ Almighty/Yeshua HaMashiach He that makes All Things New- 2 Corinthians 5:17, Revelation 21:5, Isaiah 65:17 kjv.

Solitary confinement is cruel and is known to diminish the mental health of those who are subjected to it. The UN considers 15+ days in solitary confinement to be torture, so imagine being there for 365+ with zero human contact. It IS torture. It's the same reason why so many states' death rows are moving away from solitary confinement.

Crazy she's 35 when she takes the stand around 15min mark. Looks 55.

More then a year in solitary?? Why...? It definitely wont help whatever mental illness she has..

Me too! Your comment made me notice and appreciate it even more

I don't believe Elizabeth killed those girls, I believe that a catholic priest was the serial killer...

Daniel, what are you on about? She wasn't sold into slavery or blackmailed into becoming a prostitute, it was her CHOICE, tragic as it may be. She could have been a waitress, phone sales woman, cleaner, whatever. Oh, and unless you have drugs forcefully put into you, you CHOOSE to become an addict.

awesome vid. love the choice of song in the intro and outro

OMG I thought I was the only one.

First woman serial killer? That is so disrespectful to Countess Elizabeth Bathory... ;P

100% yes

This video is the saddest I've seen. There's no way she's a psychopath. She might've done things that are shady and not kill in self defense, but by no means should she've gotten the death penalty. This is the first time in my life I'll use this term, but the prosecutor was sexist and that's one of the reasons she got the death penalty. I felt her pain and I feel bad knowing she did not get any medical assistance for her illness. I'm so grateful to JCM for doing this video and giving us different perspective on the case.

i do wonder if the defence at the time looked into the victims respective state convictions or if it was only done decades after the fact - could of possibly helped her case considerably. In my opinion it most likely was self defence in the first instance - however the fact there were multiple occurances afterwards leads me to beleive that she may of developed paranoia which made her shoot in any similar circumstance to the first instance even if the similarity was slight.

Is that factual ? or speculation? where is the proof in that claim?

It’s so sad. Whether you believe this woman or not. In her later years before she was executed, she was literally going insane. Her mind got so messed up. And to think, that there was a chance that she was telling the truth, that she did act in self defense, now she’s dead from lethal injection by the state of Florida. None the less, she had a hard, rough life. And it’s sad it ended the way it did. Hopefully she found some kind of peace of the other side.

She's looking up and to the left when recalling the sexual assaults. That is indicative of recalling a memory. Looking down to the right is indicative of thinking, creating.

Tyra says she is 29, she looks 49

I rewound that “I didn’t trust em “ so many times lol I’m still not even sure if I noticed it

Brown killed 1 person, she was also literally 16. EW was in her 20’s and 30’s ... can’t compare it

You can’t compare peoples experiences and mental reactions to them....

Now days they are granting clemency to young women who kill their pimps or clients. There have been 2 cases such as this so far. Cyntoia Brown for example. Reviewing all their histories, had EW been around just 15-20 years later she too may have benefited from the anti trafficking community and its rhetoric. EW had a much harder life than Brown. No one even tried to help EW. Brown had an adoptive family that tried to help her. Based on the evidence Brown shot her client in his sleep to rob him. Brown and the more recent case (can't think of her name) had celebrities and a small army of faith based anti trafficking nonprofits among others pushing for their release. EW had none of that. I wonder how different it would have turned out had the two young women been white because of the current narratives attached to critical race theory which has become so prevalent and popular. Combined with the anti trafficking community's backing and celebrity endorsements the two women are seen as victims who should not be held accountable for the murders they committed. Being black the two young women (according to the narratives) have been victimized by society. Whereas EW was a beneficiary of white privilege according to those same narratives being white. It's hard for me to accept this knowing EW life story. She was in no way "privileged".

lmao thats the intro

I feel for her, but there are many people in this world suffering from traumatic pasts, sexual assaults, sex trafficking, and mental illness that do not resort to murder.

I’m getting a Van Morrison video for “Brown Eyed Girl”.

I don't think I've ever felt for anybody more than this poor woman.

Is it supposed to have no video? All I see is a black screen for some reason.

i am getting a van morrison song playing?

One of the saddest stories ever.... she didnt stand a chance ... and RIP the men who became her victims...

Happened to me just restart it.

O

LET HER GO!

O

I'm getting no audio on this video

Crystal Groves

This case always breaks my heart and I skipped parts of the video because I just can't... But when I first read about her (long time ago, when I just started true crime reading) I remember being confused why people (police mostly) eager to believe the girlfriend just like that and let her get away.. Now I know more about the US justice system and I understand why they choose to use her, but still... I can't shake the feeling that the Tyria did a lot more than she said and that she is actually the psychopath, throwing Aileen under the bus and manipulating her. Seeing her during the trial, she even seems to be smirking about it. Maybe it's my bias.

I actually hadn't heard of this one

ben mikesell

Youre trying to tell me shes 34??? More like 64 jesus.

"she has chosen to be a prostitute"...utter BS!! You dont choose to be a addict either, not if you have a better option, and without it you cant choose.

Richard pryors?

In that case it very well could have been but I think it was the aggravating event that turned her into a serial killer.

Caleb Holman

this was released on my birthday lol

It was flat out robbery, many of those guys had no pryors,

I still can't believe they have cancelled 'Cops' RIP

A million times this. Not only YouTube is much easier to watch on a big screen, but considerably friendlier towards anyone with hearing issues (auto-generated closed captions!). Please, please consider this.

she deserved better

I'm sorry but who was responsible for casting Christina Ricci as Tyria Moore in Monster?! Charlize Theron went out of her way to become Aileen inside & out. Did the team just throw their hands up at that point & say, "that's more than enough accuracy for this film"?

no chance in hell that lady is 29

I seen one of her videos not long ago. In my opinion she seems to have delusional disorder and it almost seemed she might also have schizophrenia. I also had the strong impression that she was suffering inside.

Mark Robertson

I'm sure you guys already considered this, but why not just share an unlisted YouTube link instead?

um... she was a cheap prostitute. the term is rough trade. dropping "the lesbian" wouldn't have magically improved her financial status. and wournos couldn't/didn't keep down normal jobs because she let her temper loose on her employers and just... couldn't adjust. her entire situation was just... i dunno. i wouldn't want to call it inevitable, but the circumstances she was raised in were setting her up for utter failure in terms of leading a normal life.

I believe it was self defence. The guy had previous

If she'd dropped the lesbian friend, may have saved enough cash for a house or maybe even a safe satisfying job, we all have opportunity to move forward in life. Some people like hanging around low life and it catches up with them

I think she probably wasn’t even able to distinguish between self defense and murder because she cannot distinguish between her own emotions

Sarah O’Hara

I think we lost those "serial killers" because people with terrible circumstances and a kind of resulting disorder out of that are getting treatment these days. Kids like that just need access to some decent people to get a hold of decency .

I believe she did it all in self defense and deluded herself. She was so hurt by the betrayal by her ex that she wanted to enact any form of revenge and convinced herself that being unreliable would affect her ex financially. She saw her attorney’s failures as betrayal, and made their cases for nothing. She was crazy. That’s what happens with crazy people.

Yes, and she probably had Borderline Personality D/O which from what I understand stems from childhood abuse, especially sexual abuse.

I think she is guilty of the murders. I just don't think she should've gotten the death penalty. There are truly depraved killers still sitting in jail. I think she was a mentally ill person that had been abused for so long and eventually snapped.

This case never sat right with me. I believe she should've received life. I wish when she killed the first guy she would've turned herself in and tried to plead self defense because I believe that guy really did assault her. I think after all those years of abuse at the hands of men that she snapped and just took out of all her anger on innocent people.

Do you guys think she's truly guilty? I have a mixed emotion...

Also have a BPD diagnosis. If it makes you feel better she likely had a lot of other mental disorders piled on top lol

Robert Leeson

when that dude was talking about prostitution it made my blood boil, what a dick

Jon, it hurts

Best final statement "I'm comin back with Jesus, ya know, on the mothership like that independence day"

Ian Nelson

As someone with BPD this makes me so uncomfortable lol

The media frenzy around this woman and this case is ridiculous. It's sad.

It was twice a month until it wasn't. Things change man.

I would think that anyone who watches these videos would have a little bit better detective skills. Look at the damn dates. Lol just teasing

Tomorrow. It's always at the end of the month.

And word on the next uplaod? I know we're anoiying as fuck considering we're paying a single dollar, and thinking the other 40k+ dollars from other people somehow counts as our own. But still... you created this monster

Do Amy and Stephen Allwine at some point guys

For real. Give us more content

I hope you didn’t swim away and forgot us 😅🤣

When is the next video coming out Jim????!

I always thought that the first man she killed did attack her and she defended herself. She then got a taste for killing men due to her history of abuse.

When is the next episode coming out Jim? Eagerly awaiting it!

I totally agree. After I was constantly raped as a child and thrown into the snowy wilderness at 15, I went to work at McDonalds and slowly worked my way up into the upper middle class. Then I made really good decisions in the stock market and now I'm a millionaire. She could have easily done it also.

Agreed, I need to know what happened to that woman

I think you're talking about Ezra Mccandless...

Does anyone know the name of the episode with the chick with glasses that does art on her car? I want to listen to it again but cant find it. Cheers :)

Posts once a month. So should be only few days until a new episode. Considering he makes 40K just from patreon alone I'd like to see a video each week. Hire people to work with you jim..

Regardless of my past, if I had to kill someone out of self-defence just to make $60-$100 per head as a prostitute, I'd sure as hell seek back that 75-cent-per-hour job as fast as possible. Understand that she didn't have to keep hooking; she had blood on her hands and, after that first defensive killing, you bet she knew how real the risk was by then. I could see the argument against using the death penalty if Richard was the first and last time she ever had to kill. Instead, she kept hooking and risking "self-defencing" every time, which resulted in several more killings at her hands. All because she didn't want that humiliating 75-cent-an-hour job. Go figure.

SumDumGoy

Any guesstimate on a release date?

JIM DADDY, I NEED MY VIDYA FIX ♡

Classy.

WOOOHOOO!! its getting close to the end of the month, new video is going to be coming out soon!

Jim, I would buy the fuck outta your merch if you had it. Just a thought.

This

I miss the Jim videos about cases that weren't so well known. These are great too, but they've been done so many times before. Throw us an interesting case that's not been in the spotlight? Thanks for the content, as always!

I need another video dad

Ahah you read my mind bro 🤣

Can I check what the song is at the end? Not the Van Morrison one, but the guitar solo just before it. Is it Queen, I'm in love with my car?

and if that was a man on the screen noone would care.

lmao you people are sad buddy do you have any people reading skills at all? Shes nuts and straight evil. But we all know why you fweel bad bwoo hwoo pwoor woman smh

shes physco dude she deserved it just like the man would

her childhood must have been HEART-WRENCHING.. goes to show how all your issues stem from childhood trauma and she had never ending trauma bc she never got help and had to have felt so way beyond empty.. but i do know that she is a murderer. she was going to be put in jail, but i can’t believe that we are just now starting to understand and analyze the depth of mental illnesses and how it would be like to actually have one so severe that you lose your mind completely

I love so many of your video's like, The Case of Andy B., or The Case of Jon Koppenhaver, and my absolute favorite is The Curious Case of Dalia Dippolito. You made these video's interesting and insightful with lots of drama and great film footage. But unfortunately this one is exceptionally boring. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings - just giving some feedback. I look forward to more great video's.

If Miss W. we're tried today I would expect a ery different outcome. The idea of past ttraum

"I didn't want the birds to be pickin' at his body, so I grabbed a carpet and put it over him" - as one does.

Classic borderline personality disorder. Very sad about her past trauma and sexual abuse. She is not a psychopath in my opinion. Sociopath more likely.

She was innocent in the fact that she couldn't control anything she was doing, poor woman, hope she found peace in the end

Jim, can you please do the interrogation of Larry Nassar!!

Hopefully she can find Peace in Death, were she could not find it in her life!

Dorothea Helen Puente (January 9, 1929 – March 27, 2011) was an American convicted serial killer. In the 1980s was first JIM

Puh, tough case... in my opinion it questions death penalty a bit. I really liked the closing remarks of her attorney . And Jim: I really enjoyed (if that is appropriate to say) this documentary style. It is always a refreshing alternative to the “only interrogation “ videos. Big thumbs up!!

Probably terrible of me, but that alligator walking in step with the music at the beginning made me literally laugh out loud. In all seriousness though...I was just recently diagnosed with having Borderline Personality Disorder, but in a strange way. Instead of lashing out at others within a split moment of time, I lashout at myself. I'm not a danger to anyone else but me. I have also been diagnosed with Type II Bi-Polar Disorder, which means I don't get the euphoric highs and then crashes (as much as I would have preferred that). Instead, my mountainous climb is with severe chronic anxiety, fear, worry and when it reaches the peak, then crash into severe chronic depression. I await with hope, that these two new diagnoses are, with time, just as understood and accepted as depression or anxiety. To those who have these as well, keep your chin up. Stay strong. Jim, thank you for taking the condition of BPD into the light, and gave the difference between Psychopathy/Sociopathic, and instead, took gentle care to define both.

JIIIIIMM DO I SMELL A JUSSIE SMOLETT PART II- BUBBA WALLACE EDITION COMING UP ??

Another great one. Thanks Jim

I haven’t ever had a problem but I only stream JCS on my smart phone.

Video not playing. It's directing me to wistia... Anyone else getting this bs?

Jim we cant rotate the video on mobile with this player

Right? Also if they did the math, they'd realize they're way over-simplifying it. Considering it's a team of individuals working on these creations full-time (I've heard at least 5, maybe more). After income taxes (and I'm sure Patreon takes a percentage as a fee), they're looking at $50-60k take-home per year per person, likely without the same employment benefits as someone with a comparable salary at an established company. This is hardly considered high-income in the US. I attempted to explain this concept to the person your comment is likely referring to, but it looks like they deleted their original comments *shrug*.

all these entitled people like bro are you paying 40,000 dollars yourself? no you're paying 1 dollar like seriously humble yourself

Ugh... These Defense Lawyers are the Scum of the Earth

Victor

a part of you dares not to blame her for just generally lashing out at society, or murdering seven people? agree with the former, but to agree with the latter would be horrifying

Oh boi... I really don’t like commenting on people’s looks, but Tye has got to be the roughest lookin 29 I’ve yet seen

Hey Jim! I know you'll probably never see or read this, but I just want you to know that I've been watching your content since you've uploaded Police Interrogation compilations on youtube, and I greatly enjoy this type of content. I admire what you do, and I look forward to your next project!

if you're a Patreon subscriber these vids are only on here

I'm a Boomer and don't know what's going on here. Do I have to be on this website to see the paid for videos or can I see them YouTube?

what's your thoughts Jim?

Dorothea Helen Puente (January 9, 1929 – March 27, 2011) was an American convicted serial killer. In the 1980s, Puente ran a boarding house in Sacramento, California and murdered various elderly and mentally disabled boarders before cashing their Social Security checks.[1] Her total count reached nine confirmed murders, and six unconfirmed. Newspapers dubbed Puente the "Death House Landlady".[2]

Hey Jim... I live in Sacramento, if you google Dorothy Feuntes this what you get....

Prostitution is very dangerous and there is no doubt many have gotten killed while doing their job. I recommend watching the short documentary "Sold In America: The Workers", so that you can get an insight on how bad and dangerous it is for prostitutes. Of course at the end of the day Aileen chose to continue doing her job despite knowing the risks, but I believe she did not deserve to die.

Robbing them tells you, she was nefarious. This wasn't just a reaction to some sort of ptsd event. She purposefully killed those men because she hated men. The reasons for that may be tragic, but that excuses absolutely nothing on her part.

and by the way, she killed SEVEN men. Not just one. SEVEN.

I think some of you are forgetting her being aware of herself enough to lie on the witness stand. She was a murderer no matter how she got there. The devil got in her heart and you can look in her eyes and see evil.

They're all on You Tube. Look up Nick Broomfield's documentaries on her leading up to her last days... :/

No_me_digas

Lee should have never been executed. I'm against the death penalty anyway. It's archaic, primeval and antiquated. It just seems as if the world was closing in on her. She lashed out at it. A part of me dares to not blame her for doing so. Aileen should have been committed to a mental institution for the rest of her life. Nobody won. Everybody lost.

Korry Shepard

Whenever I encounter stories and reports about Aileen my heart always breaks for that little baby girl that abused and neglected. I am so angry at the systems that were meant to protect her but let that little girl down...I keep thinking...if only she was adopted to a loving family...while I do not support her actions at all...I hope she is at peace...I hope that little girl that suffered for so long is finally feeling comfort and peace...

That is his job my guy

You guys got toothpaste down there in Florida?

There is a new video on their youtube channel

Any news on getting the old content viewable?

uuhh no, but are we suppose to believe this woman killed all 7 men out of self defense?

Are we really supposed to believe that a prostitute has likely never been raped or violently violated?

that ending when she smiled was the saddest moment

Whoa. I coulent agree more. I’m with you 100%, sis.

This player suckkkkks.

Quite right, Jim, about the Defense Attorney. BPD people are like the Northern Lights, you know them when you see them, even if you don't have the words to describe them. She was able to capture and convey the BPDs ethereal madness and sadness, self loathing and confidence that lay people who deal with them can never quite put into words. Very powerful -- that was the best Aileen could have asked for. The die was cast.

This service, wistia, is awful on mobile. Surly there is better out there.

i think because he has many videos it is hard to load once you scroll through 3/4. I have a difficult time on my computer and i shouldn't. Ithink it might be the website.

What I see here is "I sold my body for sex but it ended up being torture and abusive, and after a set of experiences I saw all the people as bad. As soon as I felt scared or threatened, as soon as they tried to tie me up, as soon as they tried to induce pain I saw red and relived those moments. But because the focus is again on how i am a disgusting whore, and how I probably deserved it, and how these men and their fake personas didn't deserve to die, then fuck you. I came here to tell you what happened, and you don't believe it, you insult me, you ask me questions, and then you tell me to hang on until i die. Fuck you! I am smiling, but on the inside I feel more depressed than ever. I admit my crimes and share my raw experiences and the fatass judge falls asleep and you ignore the fucking hellish details to focus on some dumbass aspect! I know I am a piece of shit! I know I am evil trash! But your a fucking idiot if you think i am the last or only one!" I think she wanted people to hear this. and they focused on how shit she was. She knew she would die. She knew she would be locked up. How the hell wouldn't she?

She has lived through a lot of ridiculous crap. I am in no means excusing her actions. I am not sure if she is displaying BPD either. If anything, it is beyond ridiculous that people do not believe her experiences. Seriously. If we keep sweeping that shit under the rug such disgusting people continue to walk the streets. It might have started out as self defense....but then it started to become a sort of release. Hatred towards the men, hatred towards how they aren't always a specific character, but they are "all" bad. This is the resentment you talk of...but it is probably because cops see these women too. Judges see these women.....why would she want to live? This woman is the embodiment of the problem with prostitution. They aren't some flashy women with badass pimps. They aren't (mostly) kidnapped...they are drug users, desperate people, abused people, people who need something. You don't need a pimp. This is a distraction from the real issue.

Don't for a second think her story is exaggerated. I can promise you those men exist. They are probably in your neighborhood. You have no idea how much prostitution happens in this world and how messed up the men are.

I've always believed that while it probably wouldn't stand up in court, aileen really did believe her life was in danger for all of her murders. after growing up how she did, being used and abused repeatedly throughout her life, and working for years as a hitchhiking sex worker where she undoubtedly did become a victim of rape and violence many times, on top of her bpd and probably ptsd, she very likely got in the car with the men intending just to do her job and get out, ended up getting triggered, felt that her life was in danger, and lashed out accordingly. I tend to believe her encounter with mallory was truthful (though I'm skeptical of her claims that he was a serial killer), and I think that the subsequent murders were possibly caused by her having flashbacks to that first murder. with regards to her robbing her victims, I think that was for the most part opportunistic behavior she learned from living such a difficult life. Her intent was not to kill and rob the men, but once they were dead she figured she may as well take their money since it was there. obviously I don't believe any of what she did was excusable or justifiable, but when you take the time to try and see her as something beyond just a killer you begin to understand what it was that led her down that path.

Same. It really hit me in the feels, I've got too much empathy sometimes, even for Lee Wuornos. She certainly wasn't innocent, no, but it felt really wrong that they executed a CLEARLY mentally ill woman. The system failed her long before she even became a sex worker, & it seems like her life spiralled from there. I remember this case vividly, watched all the documentaries, but this is the best coverage I've seen of the case.

Laura Elizabeth

QUESTION— anyone know why I can’t play these on my ps4? I can watch on my phone and pretty much every where else and I used to be able to pull it up on my ps4 browser and now they never load... any help?

destiny

You summed up my thoughts on her after all these years. People have fallen to extreme assumptions at either end; either that she was evil and calculated, or was helplessly insane. I think there was always a vague inbetween, and Aileen herself never had full autonomy of her head regardless. Her adolescence and adulthood was clouded of course with doubt and speculation in terms of her own narration, however it's safe to say she had an ugly childhood. She knew nothing but pain and abuse from adult men around her, let down by adults and pushed out literally into the woods as a small girl. Had teen years so distant from 'normal'. You see small puzzle pieces that are scattered in her childhood, to soon be fitted together in adulthood to reveal a women so manic, filled with rage, confusion, impulsivity, dependency, and manipulation. Aileen was not innocent by a mile, however I'd be lying if I were to say she ain't heartbreaking either. Just a waste of potentially a good life. (I mean no disrespect by not mentioning her victims. I believe her victims were a mixture of characters; some clients with no intent beyond paid sex, some more violent and malicious. But near the end, I don't think Aileen could even remember. There were no winners in this case(

There were many years before my BPD diagnoses in which my ever changing emotional stability and extreme impulsiveness was horribly out of control, I was hospitalized a few times after becoming disassociated with myself and reality. I'm sure that if I hadn't gotten help, I would have done something stupid and ended up in jail. I makes me sad, especially at the end to see her in that state. She isn't really there anymore. It makes me wonder what her life would have become if her BPD was able to be treated successfully.

Charlize Theron was amazing in Monster portraying Aileen. She needed help before shit went downhill. It made me think about all the considering factors that might've influenced her actions.

Have you learned how to swim yet Jim?

When reaching feature length documentary times I don’t find that the format you usually use works as well. I really love your work, and would love to see a feature length documentary, yet done in a different style.

Everyone of these videos is such a gut punch. Keep up the good work, man!

I would love to see another part to the insight of true combat, was one of the best series.

Anybody with a brain in their head would know that he posted a new video. It's their subscription to his YouTube channel that convinced them to join this Patreon page. 1+1 equals 2, you know.

Robert T Wells

Damn it I can’t watch these videos with a Chromecast...

I was raised by a father with severe borderline personality disorder. Watching this, it's really upsetting to see someone in such desperate need of mental health help treated this way.

DAMN SHE LOOKS LIKE A GHOUL FROM FALLOUT

PRETENTIEUX

She deserved so much better. She deserved help waaaay before any murder was committed. She was alone and invisible, then punished and still mistreated until the end of her days. So fucked up.

Agreed, hard to wrap my head around the prosecutor's closing statement as that she deserved to be raped working as a prostitute.

Please create something on this insanity: https://youtu.be/Ka1vrNVboX0

The prosecution was constantly victim shaming the fact she was a prostitute; and the basis of the charges, the role of the ex lover in getting a confession, and the media circus surrounding the case definitely deflates the legitimacy of the judgement . Definitely would have avoided the death penalty if she had good legal council from the beginning.

Jesus fucking Christ, you delusional schizophrenics are everywhere

There were signs of heavy mind control during the trial. She even complained about sonic torture to make her appear crazy in court. You should check out her occult connection and MKULTRA in her past. For example, why did a homeless drug addict suddenly get married to a rich blue blood in Florida?

The only true way of knowing would be through her ex lover. By knowing the facts we could discover the true psychological tendencies rather than speculate their possibilities.

I always associate Charlize Theron's Academy Award-winning performance in the movie "Monster" with Aileen Wuornos. Since I was not there on any of the 7 occasions for which Aileen was alleged to have murdered those individuals I cannot pass judgment upon her. Was it self-defense? Was it premeditated murder? I don't know. However, having watched this presentation of her trial and subsequent incarceration, as well as several other clips of interviews and documentaries, I will proffer my opinion that Aileen was a terribly damaged human being that should not have been executed. BPD may well have been diagnosed in another day and age? But then, isn't that what society always attempts to do -- to categorize or pigeonhole individuals who either act or fail to act in a prescribed manner. One that deviates from what is considered to be the norm? I'd be curious to know how the son that she gave birth to in 1971 has developed as a boy and man? If he had inherited any of his mother's questionable behavior patterns. Primarily since his bloodline ran not only through Aileen but also her father who was a child rapist and had hung himself in prison. I'm sorry. My comment is turning into a novella. Excellent video! Thanks, Jim. Learn to swim, will ya!

I'm not paying these guys enough money, I swear...

Idk why I can just feel it in my bones.

Hidden Perspective pt. 3 I'm thinking next

Oh yes!!! I’m subscribed to Mike as well! Great content :)

You should also check out That Chapter on YouTube and/or here on Patreon. He's a really awesome creator and he releases vids 2x/week. I think JCS really like him as well.

Denyse Van Leuven

Jim is my only Patreon subscription; his content is outstanding and a great value. As always, he delivers again in this one. Thank you so much Jim, I appreciate your hard work!!

New video on youtube for anyone that hasn't seen <3

Josh Evans

Watching her makes me viscerally feel like I am the one not being listened to. I believe she is a murderer and serial killer. But she's at least channeling real hurt and maddening frustation of previous incidents where she was a victim of horrible abuse and nobody around her believed her or even cared.

I think it can be both pre-meditated murder AND killing in self defence, based on what she did for a living. She could have thought to herself something like 'I'm not going to allow these men to abuse me anymore, so if a client becomes violent/abusive towards me...I'll shoot him'.

Is it just me, or is it absolutely just a creepy, strange, uncomfortable, scary, perfect, unnerving feeling in the last twenty seconds when those first three cords of 'Brown Eyed Girl' play at the exact same time that she starts to smile? I've watched that like 34 times.

Johnny Collins

Well, I thought she was a monster before I saw this but hearing the mitigating factors helps me see why she ended up on death row. I don’t think the people empathizing with her story means we believe that she’s less of a criminal, it just helps us see she is human.

Sarah

THANK YOU. I can't believe how many people have zero empathy for her situation when taking everything in consideration.

great work

Some of y'all are psychopaths. She was a damaged women, abused her entire life, and clearly did not have all of her mental faculties. Not only that, her counsel was TERRIBLE. This is a clear reason why the state should not be able to hold the power of life and death, people are too influenced by outside sources, such as religion and 'moral' biases towards ancillary things like her profession, to be able to distribute capital punishment. In any event, thank you for the content JCS, it is well worth the dollar I pay.

Exactly my impression, rule of law (certainly in the UK feeding into the US system which is based on the former) comes ultimately from the idea of ‘10 commandments’ but the section in the video where the prosecution were essentially ignoring her mental health issues subjectively and simply applied an objective moral judgement, as you say, based on religious bias made it really hard to watch and I did feel sympathy for her.

Would you not rather cases that weren't already extensively covered elsewhere?

Jim who cant swim. Do a psychology of "The Juice" !!!

It appears that religion is a major factor in US law. Scary.

I would not have voted for the death penalty if I was the jury.

I hope the prosecution is dead. What a horrible man. I do not understand how such a terribly biased man could have a job like this.

Jim, I can't thank you for the wealth of knowledge you've provided with your work & associated commitment. If you ever have a moment in a video that speaks on the bias the legal system has against women vs men, at least when they feel attacked or provoked-- this versus the case of the man who shot a car of Black men, murdering one of them, could be a great example.

And that gf of hers! Funky bitch! Hope she hunted tf outta her! They ask her age in court she said 29! Bullshit bitch looks every bit of 48 !

If she admitted her guilt, she would have the realize that she was a shitty human being. I can’t help but think it’s her coping strategy

Sarah

Considering she killed more than 1 person, 7 in this case... actually shows she was a stone cold killer. She was also a Misanthropist, due to being raped and molested when she was a little girl, but nevertheless, she was a misanthropist. So I don't know what you're on about.

I have to say,i think she couldve had a much better defense.more of an offensive defense not just asking mercy. After all,the child care system failed her,to go through what she went and end up electrokilled is no good,it teaches no one any lesson. She killed those poor man but its obvious she didnt just decide to be a stone cold killer.traumas can shape you into a real monster as it did in her case and the worst part is that you have no idea what you became. I hope she rests in peace and so do her victims.

Aileen: I want to get this all straightened out... Nick: Did those men abuse you or did you just kill them in cold blood? Aileen: I won't talk about the murders. Okay, so you don't really want to get anything straightened out beyond optics then. She seems incapable of honesty with herself.

Jonathan Berman

I respectfully disagree. Very few who are so abused turn out this way... but some are not lucky, some do not meet remarkable people who help them find a better path, some simply aren't smart enough or wired well enough to even cope with the situations... there are really too many variables.

Jonathan Berman

prosecutor saying she was a young woman? She was 16 that's a child.

I work at a mental hospital, and she reminds me of many of my patients. I believe evil does exist, and people should receive full punishment for their crimes. But this woman was obviously very sick and needed help. It makes me so sad to watch. If you have been around people with severe BPD, you can tell she's a poster child. Poor lady was screwed from the start, and the fact that she never got proper mental healthcare led her to death row

I just wanted to say that these are really high-quality materials, and I hope your team keeps producing them. I am very happy to have access to these contents, and as an undergraduate Psych student , I should say that every video is filled with interesting and useful information. Keep it up folks, thanks a lot!

Crazy

lawyers are pieces of shit omg

Wistia seems to be incompatible with chromecast unlike YouTube and Vimeo. My wife and I loved watching the videos after the kids go to sleep and it is hard to do so on a phone screen rather than our television screen. Is there any remedy for this?

It does look crazy but it's not a typewriter! It's a device called a stenograph and it doesn't have like a regular qwerty keyboard, it instead writes in steno (short hand) which is essentially writing the sound of the word (also know as phonetics). It allows for the court reporters to write quickly and to not fall behind by having to type out an entire word while listening. Stenographs are still used today but some people hook up a laptop or tablet to their device and it automatically combines the sounds they are typing on the stenograph to form the words on a word document. It's pretty interesting!

Thanks for the video, Jim. I am a retired psychotherapist from the UK. If there was ever a good argument for a complete overhaul of the mental health and prison service then you have demonstrated it here. We live in a regime that throws people away in childhood, even though we have the knowledge and skills to help them. The regime spends our money on weapons of mind destruction.

My deepest wish is for the courts/attorneys/legal system to release the full Lee Rodarte interrogation.

I love Jim, the editing team and the narrator (yes, the narrator isn't Jim, he even got his own YouTube channel) and I too would like to spend that $1 on a cup of coffee. I would appreciate it they could, ya know, upload more of these amazing videos.

Jim it's been 13 days now, when are you going to release another video that's over an hour long and has the same quality content? I PAY ONE WHOLE DOLLAR A MONTH FOR YOU! I DEMAND CONTENT OR I'M GOING TO SPEND THAT DOLLAR TO GET 3 COFFEES FROM THE VENDING MACHINE AT WORK!

MetalGearSolid_45

I have no compassion for her. Her childhood was awful, her parents we awful but how many kids had a childhood just as bad and didn't grow up to be serial killers? She killed 7 men in cold blood and she was crazy af, good riddance.

Very well said.

I feel so endeared to her, because of the clear and devastatingly ample roots her whole function or lack thereof had in trauma. She was clearly not her dysfunction. You can see her essence floating in the midst of it. She was a ticking time bomb. Her soul so tortured on this Earth, death would have been the only relief left for her. Our world is not equipped to help someone so utterly destroyed as her...

Regardless of what happened I do feel bad for her. Her expressions seem very telling. It's like there are so many painful, contradicting, inexpressible thoughts that are going on in her mind, that she can't make any sense out of, and every sentence she speaks is a betraying struggle of herself. She seems to be struggling to convey anything that she is thinking. Like she is changing her mind on what to say a hundred times over before she eventually manages to deliver a sentence. its like watching someone drowning in themselves. Definitely does not come across as a psychopath to me, but someone very painfully damaged.

Jason Longo

24:22 That guy isn't even looking at the typewriter!

Bro that ending made me cry, I'm such a baby. Her life was really bad. :L

This was such a good video, thank you! Would love more like this.

What a trip! This was very informative and compelling, but I wish you would’ve shed light on the 6 other murders she carried out.

If she had lived in the 1600's, she'd have been burnt at the stake for witchcraft.

Please keep making videos! I love the psychological dialogue about the people in the videos!!

Ben Connor Hogan

Thank you for THE WAY YOU DO THESE VIDEOS! I love the audio and commentary so much. The voice is good too!

Ben Connor Hogan

9;47 equals 9;11 a timestamp of Freemason evil. Great one Jim. I feel terrible for the woman. She had no chance in life. I hope she has a measure of peace. Men hunt women daily. I guess they don't enjoy the inverse. I believe every one was self defense.

Holly Penland

can we get a Joe Sun video? The MMA fighter in Austin Powers who was convicted of rape/murder/torture.

I feel this episode was something Jim has had on their minds doing quite a while. Good you got it done. Now do more stuff 😂

I have BPD lmao

he does, these are exrra ones, aalthough, i do not intend on watching this one, some of his pareon videos are not worth it

Should I say all men are derogatory and egotistical like you? Don't base a whole gender on your bad experiences

All females are impulsive and irrational, so are they all borderline then?

Thank you but could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use YouTube for video uploads thanks?!? Edit: For ALL your videos pls?

Luke

I think it's because the footage used in the documentary was filmed in that square-like aspect ratio...like if you try to watch older shows (the last I watched, for example, Star Trek The Next Generation) you can get it to stretch out under a TVs menu settings...but it just makes it look really bad because everyone looks really wide and it usually cuts off a lot of the scene too...it takes some getting used to, but it's worth it for some older footage/shows/movies.

Jim, just as an FYI, I'm going to sue you. Your documentaries will haunt me until my dying day. Despite the fact that I'm watching them voluntarily, and paying you money to help you make more of them, I'm pretty sure you can sue someone for making amazing docs that make you think, and that you can't get out of your head. The first 3 lawyers I spoke to laughed at me but I'm sure I'll find one if I keep looking. For real though =) ... GJ.

And bitter sweet because we know what’s coming. They did a great job at bringing her humanity to light.

Sarah

I didn't get a notification!! I was actually getting mad that I hadn't seen an upload 😂

The last scene. Just golden.

I’ve read in-depth about Aileen and this case but it never stuck to me that Tyria Moore was only 29 during the first trial. She looked well into her 30s going on 40. Jesus.. I hope that’s not how I look in a couple months!

So? No one studied it like Jim did. I studied criminology and psychology - both where Aileen's case was brought up - and not once have i heard anyone link her behaviour to BPD. So I found it interesting and insightful despite 'studying it to death already'. And I'm sure others have too.

Good video, time to wait another month for another one!

I believe most people would turn out to be like her if they lived her childhood. My heart breaks for all the child victims of abuse...

This case has been studied to death already =(

PulsatingBrain

She’s almost certainly not lying. I know it’s hard to look beyond you preconceived notions- but this woman had very few indications of being psychopath.

I usually use screen mirror from phone to roku, but can’t get full screen. Anybody have a better way to view?

Please do Daniel Wozniak!

guys the is not telling the truth, she is lying, i thought its easy to read when people are lying, but i guess that doesnt work on psychopaths

What would be the point of that? As tragic as it is, it's an accident and offers nothing in the way of behavioral science.

Something about this case doesn’t sit right with me

She was telling the truth.

Can you do Kendrick Johnson next?

LOL. It's the best value on the planet and people can't help themselves. At least you voiced your opinion maturely but it's like telling an artist how to paint.

Same with me. PS4 just doesn't want to play Patreon vids no more. Im fearing for the day the internet browser on ps4 will stop working since i never use the youtube app on ps4. It fucking sucks since you can't comment.

I think it's been 3 videos in a row with ironic happy music to start off. I like the silence or brief clip to start off personally.

thank you for this. You do amazing work!

Wow, this is amazing. As someone with BPD, I must say that your understanding of the disorder is excellent.

29!?!?! She looks 50 easily

Just another reason I believe she was originally telling mostly the truth about it being self-defense, at least in the first murder: when she talks about the man putting rubbing alcohol in her genitals, she starts getting choked up while saying "and that hurt really bad" and starts crying. I believe from my personal experience that that was a genuine reaction from reliving that pain and fear through memory.

honestly, even if she murdered every single one of them in cold blood. (which i don't believe) Even then i think she is more a victim than a monster. After everything she went through...since she was a little child... i could understand if she had a hatred against man. Especially her customers. Who most definitely weren't angels, let's not forget she was a street prostitute...none of these man ended up in the car with her because of their big harts. When i look at her state towards the end, i see a little girl which was abandoned and abused by her family and society. Turned into murderer and then mentally broken and executed. Not kidding, this video made me cry... And to think that i believed the media hype back then. I too thought she was a crazy cold-blooded monster.

Robert

That's his job, to make that person look as guilty as possible. Just like its the job of a defense attorney to make the most evil scum to walk the earth look as innocent as possible.

The disregard of mental health in America truly is fucked up. But I gotta say I find it disconcerting that so many people are so ready to believe that every single one of her victims was a rapist. Like it is clearly demonstrated by Jim C Swim, she's mentally impaired. Not saying most of these married men were angels, but to believe her when everything points to her being more than a little loopy is fucking laughable. It's even more funny when you take into account that a lot of you seem pro-sex work, but anti the people who partake their services. Disgusting, honestly.

Zakkuri

Exactly, it's fucking ridiculous. The automatic belief is even more stupid when the entire video was about her psychology and how, by extension, everything she said should be taken with a grain of salt. For all the pro-sex worker women (and it is mostly women defending Warnos, from what I can see), they certainly are for the people who seek their services.

Zakkuri

I suffer from borderline personality disorder (I have worked on myself a lot and gotten treatment, so thankfully some of the symptoms aren't as bad anymore..), and the defense attorney in the end did a very good job describing the essence of this disorder, although there is much more to it than what was said of course. I'm glad nobody painted us all as some blood-thirsty maniacs, cause the stigma is real.

Awesome long-form content. Suck-tastic video player for an iPhone. A bit better on the iPad. Is theft/sharing passwords on Patreon so bad that you have to switch players all the time to keep up with the piracy?

So not a single one of those jurors thought she deserved even the barest ounce of mercy? Wow. What amazing Christians. And that prosecutor should feel fucking ashamed of himself. He knows damn well her position in life wasn’t her fault; but no, he couldn’t just stop at demoralizing her, he had to drag ALL prostitutes into it. I was so shocked at his argument that women in prostitution do what they do ‘to control men’, my jaw literally dropped open. That’s about as demonstrably false as you can possibly get. I don’t think you can find a more obvious example of victim blaming if you tried.

totally. her "innocent victims" were likely a bunch of scumbags and it's hard to have any remorse for that last guy if she says the truth. who knows she might have really cut a career of a serial killer (and definitely a rapist).

seriously fucked over by life ... what a mess ... she probably saved future women from some of the predators she killed ... . may you rip ms wuonos because you certainly had no peace in this life.

she had to go through hell before she was 15. i feel sorry for her murderer or not.

Robert

Well said.

She didn’t have a chance at life.

Beautiful take, thank you so much

Em

This is heartbreaking proof that untreated trauma results in mental and moral decay.

I definitely prefer interrogations...

whats the second ?

2 vids a month is incredible my friend. Keep up the good work, by far my favorite YouTube channel

Jim Reeder

The meth adds 15 years and takes away teeth for some reason...

Sarah

For some reason when using this video host, the video won't play on my PS4. Just thought I'd let ya know. Works fine on PC in browser. Awesome episode.

Yes. It wont fullscreen no matter what i do, it ends up a postage sized square in the middle of the screen no matter if its on a pc, or a phone upright or sideways.

child of cascadia

Tyria is TWENTY NINE is this footage?! She looks 40.

I remember that Nick Broomfield documentary! That close up of her face as she was ranting about heaven always came across as exploitative and left a bad taste in my mouth. She had a truly horrible childhood and I wonder that’s why she was protective of Tyra.

When Van Morrison plays at the end:...and they all lived happily ever after

I wonder why🤣

Seems like the prosecutor has some personal grudge towards sex workers

Wuonos has been analyses to death to be fair. There was nothing new or insightful in this video for me. Sorry.

I have no idea who that is but yes please... if it's a JCS video I'm in favor!

Can you do a video on Myka Stauffer?

OMGOMGOMG!!! 40 seconds in and I had to come scream in the comments!!! I’m so excited to watch this!! 1:27!! It’s a JCS movie!!

Cinderellen In Texas

Top-quality true crime content.

Honestly I don't understand this comment section. She murdered seven men. If the roles were reversed. If a deranged man shot seven women. Even if he had a troubled childhood full of abuse and rape. I don't think people here would sympathize with him as much as they're sympathizing with Aileen. She had a troubled past. That's without a doubt. But if you're going to completely blame her crimes on her past then you're doing a huge disservice to survivors of childhood trauma who lead a normal life without killing 7 people in 10 or so years. We need to understand how she came to that point but we don't need to justify her crimes. 7 people lost their lives. That enough demonstrates to me that she's a threat to society. We need to stop people from getting to the point she was. Not try and justify them being there and give validity to the idea that if your past is troubled then that justifies you committing atrocities. It differs on a person to person basis and some crimes are not as severe as others. But can you imagine if seven of your friends and family were murdered? Second of all. I saw a comment here saying something along the lines of "When they said she was a prostitute they should've mentioned that the men she murdered were seeking prostitution". Victim blaming much?

I was thinking the same thing

Black Excellence and Abundance

Your writing is an embarrassment to civilization. You could read a few books. It would do you good. In the long term it will bring down your anger.

Theres no way she was 29 wtf. Smh drugs

ty

Not to mention the mess thats going on at the moment - these small town americana gone wrong tale are also a massive reason why I'd never consider the US a civilised country - its way to big to actually govern. You get messes like this allll the time - and like what is happening nationally at the moment alll the time apparently (and it should have been a reaction to every school shooting but hey that shit is normal now too)... Christians as well in the jury! ha! fucking christians sentencing people to death. now. that would be ironic in most countries throughout the world.... but if your a fucking inbred yank its "your liberty" at stake. Shoot the black man, sentence the victims of childhood sexual abuse victims to death. whoop dee doo AR15s lesgoboisssss tdlr: I fucking hate america thinking its #1 when you do this shit all the time, you're an embarresment to civilastion as much as muslims or china is. its fucking pathetic sort your shit out you fucking cunts. ]

This video player sucks

Great video! I was wondering if you would do a video on YouTuber Mr. Anime.

Jake

Cast the whole tab instead. 👌

The video player on this sucks badly

That was incredible. My heart breaks for her. I cannot imagine the hell she went through. I feel for the victims and their families as well. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into all your videos.

StarLight333

Great job on this video. As always very intriguing. Do you guys plan on doing more videos on psychopaths? Those would be interesting to break down the traits and how they correlate to a given individual. :)

that doesn’t even make sense lol.

If she was man, she would not have gotten the death penalty.

She was a victim of her circumstances. Life in prison would've been righteous. NO ONE deserves the deathpenalty.

not enough explaining

She was a victim of circumstance yet she murdered seven people?

Riot God

Christina Ricci is hot as hell

dont walk away eileen wouldve also worked nicely

Can't chromecast from this player 😫

I feel she was a victim of circumstance. She didn't need to be executed. How is it okay to Jill somebody so mentally ill 💔. I am Canadian and the majority of us do NOT believe in a eye for an eye, nor do we have the death penalty

I can't view the video

Excellent video as always. Feel heartbroken over Eileen, she never got a decent chance in life.

Family prolly filed a copyright strike... I wantted to show it to a friend... Thanx for verifying!

George Huguely and Yeardley Love are who you mean, but Jim's video does indeed seem to be removed.

Z is for Zed

Can anybody tell me where the video about the spolied rich kid/lacrosse player who killed his gf? I thought it was on youtube but cant find it anymore??

Really good piece, Jim. Brown Eyed Girl is TOTALLY giving me the creeps right now, though😳😳Great story, and excellent narration

Johnny Collins

i think its just a re-release of a previous patreon-only video

i like hearing the words from JCS, for a while there there were not enough, but you came through in the end --mark" for her to be able to kill a man, wow" --my wife (she was kind of speechless (slightly drunk comment)

Exactly my thoughts ... Wow

Looking forward to watching the latest video on YouTube "the case of Andy B" dropped 11 hours ago. Looks like a short one at 25 mins but I'll take it.. Jim you continue to outdo yourself, your videos are getting better and better and soon I wouldn't be at all surprised if you have Netflix or another platform approach you to create content for them exclusively. You are at that level and you already have a built in following but imagine how many more could learn about you and your incredible content. Although I must say.. Jim, you really do need to learn how to swim. Just sayin'! : )

I wish you would upload to youtube or a platform i can download the video so i can watch on the bus. My data plan is weak

Excellent again Jim. Really puts the death penalty into perspective.

hello i just joined patreon !! i cannot wait to watch it and listen to your perspective on it, aileen's case always hits hard whenever i am reminded of it.

I'm just so sad for Aileen. Everybody seemed to turn their back on her.

kiu (aka kirstine)

I stand with you on that! 🌸🌸🌸

kiu (aka kirstine)

Excellent video Jim! Seriously, outdid yourself. However, had some issues throughout playing the video. Kept freezing up and would have to reboot it all over again. Anyways, was wondering if you could do a video on “Casey Anthony”, or “Scott Peterson” considering he is currently trying to get out of jail. Think both those cases are very well documented along with interrogation footage.

I can't watch the video :(

I'd hope one thing the prosecution would have to throw out is the sexist "whores who spread their legs for money are asking to get killed" line thanks to the widespread cultural legitimacy of sex workers and their ongoing battle for visibility and civil rights under the law.

Poor girl. Great job, Jim, more evenhanded than most anything that's out there.

I've been waiting for this to drop!

Enjoy every moments of your life folks... Even in your car. Thanks Jim!

That video hosting website is has some real formating issues on mobile.

(Error 420)

I assume patreon also takes a cut from every dollar

She's crying because hearing someone genuinely advocating for you, is a deeply touching and moving experience, which can be a release of grief and trauma.

If murderers escalate behavior up to murder... what was her escalation to this first murder? Where would the compulsion for the first murder have come from? Where's the evidence for the escalation to the first murder?

Wonderful.

I felt the exact same, I think a lot of the famous jailhouse interviews that we saw a lot of, was when she had been on death row for some time and her mental health had gone downhill and her anger had increased... because yeah I’d mostly seen stuff of her kind of wild eyed and ‘deranged’ but clearly that wasn’t always the case or the whole story

Nick Simon

Guys, if you are looking to chromecast / etc right click -> inspect element then find the actual stream URL, paste in browser

If you turn off screen orientation lock it should work!

Not too sure on your choice of words there, but yeah I agree that seeing her up on the stand there I definitely was not getting a "Wednesday Adams" feeling.

The production quality hasn't been this high from the start. Been a patron for a year and the quality has only went up as time progressed and it makes that 1 dollar feel like too little honestly lol

Jim Cant Swim really is at the top of his game game with these informative crime doc's he puts together. Between this one and his War Machine EP he has cooked up a couple of masterpieces lately.

Are you guys making $38,000 a month? I mean 1 USD for each patron?

Greetings from sunny Finland to the whole team.!!! A day cant start much more better than waking up, fixing the 1st cup of coffee, and seeing theres a new Jim C Swim video in Patreon......Wooohoo..!!! Keep up the good work and awesome quality..

Wow 29 and 35 years old. That's a rough 29 and 35.

Great work. I have seen a lot of documentaries on her. I always felt a bit sad for her despite what she did. She had no real idea how to function as a human being and she seemed to have been taken advantage of by almost everyone who was in her life. She was so damaged.

Sonia Pitt

When ever you upload, it turns into a movie night for me. I love you and your work <3

Crazy how eloquent she was, I’ve seen wournos depicted as like a crazy redneck in American horror story and Monster - but she seems very cogent and sympathetic in her interviews?

So happy to see a new video

This method of uploading is very inconvenient. I hope next one you go back to youtube/vimeo. Love the content as always.

The video won’t work in landscape on my iPhone. Can you upload this episode to Vimeo/ YouTube?

Thanks for another fantastic video :)

She is only 35!!!! Wow, she looks much older.

Can't say I agree- I find her narration fascinating and it was the whole point of the episode- to focus on her mannerisms and psychology.

Scarlett Swanson

I hadn’t seen much of the court proceedings before I’m actually surprised at how well she comes across

Nick Simon

If you mean is this the person the film is based on, yep

Nick Simon

is that monster charlize theron?

That is CREEPY. Goddamn Aileen. The surname Wuornos comes from Finland.

Crazy how death row can really affect your brain 😖 great video JCS I always look forward to them. I was gonna complain because I’ve seen sooo many mini docs on Eileen even. The Hollywood movie but you were dig deep and I appreciate that 💜

I normally share these videos with my Lenovo google display but this format wont allow me to. Had to watch on mobile phone. Not complaining just an fyi. Keep up the great work!

TWENTY NINE? there is no way!

worst JCS comment... :/ nobody ever loved you.

weakest JCS episode ... :/ i still love you tho

Miles Melo

great video as always. one thing though, Eileen missed out on being the first female serial killer by CENTURIES!!! come on...

Also IMO this episode was WAY too much of Eileen rambling on and on with very little narration

Riot God

It's true that most murderers have a pretty terrible upbringing, some worse than Eileen. I have sympathy over their bad childhoods but I still have absolutely no sympathy for the acts they have done and it's not an excuse for what they have done, just like how it's a poor excuse for male murderers as well. Eileen gets too much sympathy IMO, this was a hard one to listen to. Multiple murderers are multiple murderers, no sob story will change that just like it didn't change things for all the others. I don't think she should have got death, but then again I don't think most of them deserve death. Eileen gets more credit than she deserves, just my two cents.

Riot God

I love how Hollywood cast Christina Ricci as her girlfriend, instead of a huge bull dike

Great video! I feel her defense team failed her. Not sure if she paid for her defense or had a court appointed attorney but they could have done better. When the prosecutor brings up the fact that Aileen was a prostitute and this was her choice as an adult, was it not also the choice of those men to seek a prostitute? Some of them being married ? There is a risk of death when seeing a prostitute as I'm sure this wasn't the first instance of a prostitute killing her john. Since the prosecution wanted to bring up this aspect of her being an adult and making her own choices, I feel the defense should have countered this as saying the men were no angels, either. The first victim, you mentioned had a previous conviction of rape. I wonder if her attorney brought this to the jury's attention during the trial? The prosecutor seemed to want to dismiss Aileen's full defense case but I think they would have seen it in a different light had they been aware he raped before. Finally the defense final argument, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I think a male attorney using more conviction would have done a much better job summing up her life and struggles. I think if Aillen had BPD. after the incident with the john who attacked her, she went on with a resentment and wariness afterwards that caused her to kill the other men. I think it became commonplace in her mind to do so. I don't think she deserved to be sentenced to death. These were not random victims or people she targeted but men seeking sex which I think in her mind she seen them as the same level of evil as the first man who attacked her.

You are by far the most interesting person to listen do when it comes to real crime. Above and beyond any other show!

That is the sherif I believe. There are no people of color on the jury it seems.

I can't use this video player to cast to me Chromecast connected to my TV :(

Visit the site on safari if u still need the help it happend to me too lol

I can’t get the video to rotate to landscape mode on my phone, can anyone help me with this?

Jim, can you cover the Gabriel Fernandez trials? It started in LA County

Helga Bluestone

i stand with Aileen, i don't even need to explain why. she's a poor soul and i pray God will have Mercy on her soul

The answer is almost always interactionist when there's a nature-nurture debate involved. I totally agree that her upbringing contributed massively, but equally there are people who have similar traumatic upbringings and don't go on to murder 7 people. That said, attributing a nature aspect to it doesn't add an aspect of morality and label her as 'evil' or anything. In any case, an intriguing case and it's a shame that there was no intervention in place to support her in her younger years. Who knows where she'd be now with that kind of help.

is the only african american in the jury sitting outside the jury duty seats? at 51:10 min mark

Great job! Any other high profile cases in the making? John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Casey Anthony?

I paid one dollar and all I get is this amazing 1hr 30min video??? Seriously though, another excellent video thank you JCS each video is getting better and better, keep up the great work. This was fascinating and terrifying.

Mordecai

Nature vs Nurture - This is obviously a case of nurture. Jesus Christ talk about growing up in the worse way possible. So tragic and gut wrenching.

"And that's what most prostitutes are about, control"--bruh, are you for real?

Love your videos as always. A question I would ask is how this would go down if it happened today?

David Allen

Superb, as usual. Bravo

Such a heartbreaking case. Thank you for making this documentary.

Check out the movie called 'Monster' !

Very interesting as always! Be good to see another hidden perspective type of video again, especially with what’s going on in the world

Amazing work as always!

The attorney was great! I feel like i understand BPD much better after watching this, I had always found it hard to get my mind around in the past. I'm glad you've skilled up and are more able to cope now

So gross and cynical that he knew that tack would work with that jury

thanks once again JCS! i was struck with the closing statement of the defense that the lack of freedom is already punishment enough. this hits to the core due to our global health crisis. 😓 i've seen a lot of serial killers docus and most of them had difficult and abusive childhood that i end up understanding how evil shows through brokenness. 😓😓😓

i agree with you, i can imagine her living a normal life if there was no physical and emotional abuse involved. it hurts to see how a horrible family turns an innocent child into a murderer.

I do feel terrible for her. There is NO WAY that the Hell she lived through didn't massively destroy her mind beyond repair.

The prosecutors points where so ridiculous wtf was he even going on about? “Grr prostitute bad. Prostitute have too much POWER they just want to KILL US bad bad prostitute 😡” how about trying to say she’s lying and she’s a evil person who killed the guy on purpose?

Live in the moment. Safe Travels

OMG the closing arguments of "Well it doesn't matter what may or may not have happened, she chose to be a prostitute so she knew the risks and deserved it." I WANT TO KICK HIM IN THE TEETH.

Marlissa Cunningham

My heart aches for Aileen . Her childhood was nothing but sexual, physical and emotional abuse. Had she had a loving and caring family she would have turned out so much different. I'm not saying that justifies her actions but only helps to explain them. Children who have abusive childhoods suffer life long consequences. Love and care for your kids. And if you aren't able too then use protection, rubbers don't cost that much

God bless JCS

Barry McKokkener

Evil always finds its true shape. Be it through a psychopath or through a broken person like her. It's the opposite that we seem to have trouble with, not manifesting enough of it.

Why would a woman who was raped her entire life, feel compelled to say, "I was almost raped, again." I don't want to say that it was normalized, but if for almost, if not more than 11 years you're constantly sexually and physically abused by family, and family friends, it's still a traumatic and terrible event yes, she probably didn't feel a need to speak on it.

Schmitbag

It was ok

Always worth the wait Jim. Thank you! I always feel torn about Miss W. I of course cannot justify murder, but part of me...the mushy part of my heart, feels sorry for her. I’m probably nuts.

Kate is Great

Hey, she quit smoking!

This one made me ugly cry... my heart breaks for Eileen... what a good video <3

holy shit holy shit. What a good one. The ending was awesome.

Oslo Zeimantz

Ok but when I saw Tyra I was sure she was 40. My jaw dropped when she said 29

I only see the Brown Eyed Girl link, where's the actual video?

Adam Luciferi

She seems so similar to Carole Baskin!

It DEFINITELY seems like in the end, she pretended she was 100% guilty because she just wanted to die and not have to deal with anymore legal battles. After the life she had, death is a blessing.

She seems like a pretty nice lady. I would date her.

Some of those tears were real. Someone did that stuff to her. He asked her if she ever had a happy moment and she got mad. I would too; shes about to die and he reminds her she didn't get a single happy memory. I wont say she had zero chance but how hard does someone have to struggle to make it to the light when things are so badly stacked and we all know what solitary does. Just fkn sad.

Ever heard the phrase swimming with sharks?

Jeremy

profile pic checks out

Jeremy

WOW this was a great video. I'm very familiar with this case and it was great to see your take on it. Love your content Jim!!

Mir Berthelot

excellent work Jim.

Yes brotha🙏🏼

Thanks so much for this great vkdeo JCS team. As someone who has/had a diagnosis of bpd and through 3 years of dbt therapy have changed my life, I find this case tragic. Aileen's attorney does a great job at describing BPD, before bpd was even heard of. My own experience of living with bpd was a life with extremely intense emotions and no healthy ways of managing those emotions. No self control, total impulsivity. It affected every single aspect of my life. From relationships, romantic and platonic, I had such bad interpersonal skills I lost jobs I loved. I self harmed seriously to deal with my intense anxiety and low mood. I abused substances to give myself that intense euphoria. I want to add I never murdered anyone and it isn't a bpd trait.. but I was in some ugly abusive relationships with abuse on both ends. Imagine being born into a world and not having that compass people develop as they grow up, and are taught those skills by their caregivers.... to know how to act. From a conversation with friends (I was always so awkward) to knowing how to sit with sadness. Or know how to distract yourself from negative emotions without hurting yourself. I felt like an outsider, having literally no self control. Now I'm not saying Aileen wasn't guilty of the crimes, she deserved to be in prison. But to execute a woman who from day one didn't stand a chance, that isn't justice

Sarah Beaumont

Am I the only one who thinks that jury looks segregated? Why is that one guy sitting in the chair outside the jurors booth? Why isn't he sitting with everyone else?

You should put this on YouTube! More people need to hear this side of the story :(

I love the new player with playback options. Much better than Vimeo.

Brandon Beall

Thanks so much for this great video JCS team. I find the whole Aileen case tragic. As someone with a diagnosis of BPD, her attorney does an amazing job of describing what it's like to live with it. To describe it so well when BPD wasn't heard of at that time is impressive. It took me years of DBT therapy to learn thr skills to live a life not overruled by impulsive behaviours, self destruction, unhealthy relationships. All as a way to deal with painfully intense emotions I had no control over. I am not suggesting BPD makes Aileen innocent. Of course she was guilty and deserved to spend life in prison. But to execute a woman who from her first day on earth did not stand a chance, and because of her upbringing had classic traits of BPD, its a tragedy. She did not have the skills to manage things in a healthy way. She was obviously extremely impulsive. Just a sad case all round...

Sarah Beaumont

Phenomenal work again as always my friend. This channel has been a big factor of inspiration for me to start studying psychology. I get my answer from the university in a month or so, wish me luck!

Crithpy

This was a really compelling video! Thank you for posting.

Your intros are just getting better and better, as is your content. Thank you so much. So glad I found you, love from the UK.x

Katie Mitchell

Ah yes another self-diagnosed BDP tween. See this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSKizLRFbTo

Jeremy

Thank you for all of your hard work! Great as usual!

Putting her on the stand is one of the worst decisions in legal history.

I've got to say, I do think I believe the self-defence story. Thanks Jim.

Good stuff. She wasn't far from being completely incoherent.

I need more!

Mike Gray

As someone with BPD, thank you for presenting and describing it in such a gentle way; many don’t understand it and I hope this video will bring more awareness. This is a really sad story and I can somewhat understand how chaotic and blinding her thoughts must have been - horrific. I wish they had helped her and given her time to talk to someone who could have helped her become stable. BDP can’t be cured, you need to find the sweet spot where you can be level, not up, not down; just level and able to understand and process your emotions rationally - it’s exhausting.

LJ

So worth the 1 dollar! Just spectacular!

Wow. This prosecutor indites not only Warnos, but the entire profession of prostitution. Yes he invokes the prevalent societal stigma and marginalization of prostitution (not so true today. He wouldn't be able to get away with this as easily today) There is another case where a sex worker went to a call after agreeing to a 2 man appointment. When she arrived there were 5 men who gang raped her at gunpoint. The Judge ruled that it was mere theft of services not a rape. She also stated that to rule it a rape would minimize "genuine" rape cases. This was within the last decade.

JCS Psychology with another BANGER video yet again

Great as always, i really appriciate the work you guys do, especially in these times.

Start video, see's florida. Oh boy here we go.

Ah the ending man! 👌❤️

Arrived! 1.5h content. Getting my popcorn ready. So hyped!!

Wojciech Tolsdorf

Why was that man by himself next to the jury?

Wish these were posted on Youtube so I can listen to them with my phone screen turned off, but eh, good vid.

Thank you Jim for your amazing efforts as always! Wow I just don’t know what to feel about this one. I can’t help but feel bad for her and the life she lived, it’s just so insane to me to see a person with absolutely no sense of self or even awareness of what’s happening or what she has done.

Great job Jim, these vids are amazing. Small request, can you do a video on police brutality etc . Thanks

I loved this. I’ve always hoped that you would cover Aileen because you really break it down and get into the psychology of people, which is what made me love your channel so much in the first place. Thank you for another great video.

Incredible video, well done

You are the best, JCS!

lock the phones rotation lol

Imagine all Jim can't swin videos on a Netflix series, would be insane , hopefully someone out here can make that happen!

Feet in pool, blunt lit lets gooooo!!!!

Wonderful video as ever! Another viewer who noticed the switch in execution method, a slip or

Adrian Nelson

As always what a fucking amazing job everyone at JCS did. Thank you so much for this content

i suspect its because she killed in a fashion typical of male serial killers, rather than using traditionally feminine means of murdering people.

Dyce

Brilliant! Worth waiting for. Tragic character through and through bless her.

it doesn't matter but does she only have one tooth :/

Christie DeSapio

Thank you Jim! Such a good video. I can’t help but empathize with her.

r.i.p. Aileen Wuornos

idk man I like the way Jim analyzes these cases. I knew about her before but there were a lot of details that I wasn't aware of. plus, I thought his take on the documentary clips were super interesting.

Jim I think this may be your best video yet. You cogently cover the complex nature of psychological disorder diagnosis and how such diagnosis and labels e.g. psychopath can have people erroneously simplify and misconstrue people's thoughts and actions. Great Work!

Thanks man... been waiting.....We sincerely appreciate your hard work

Glad there's finally a new update but I gotta say, there are so many cases out there, why rehash a case that has been covered by the media and other platforms in great length? There's been a movie, documentaries, interviews, etc. The general public should be pretty informed about who this person was. Hopefully next month's video will be about a case that hasn't been covered so thoroughly in the past.

Question I'd love someone to try help answer: Why is she so pervasively tagged as the 'First Female Serial Killer'? She wasn't the first female serial killer. Not by a long shot. There are tons of black widows standing in line before her, whose cases have all been documented and recorded. Belle Gunness at least, for sure. Before we even get all the way back to Elizabeth Bathory. Why is Aileen Wuornos given this distinction? Am I missing some special criteria or something? Please do respond, someone, if you know the answer?

Wonderful stuff, thank you so much Jim. She and her case overall were so complex, though few prefer(red) to see it that way. The prosecutor essentially saying: "She was a prostitute so she had it coming," is infuriatingly one-toned and cruel. Not excusing murder, but if there was such an excuse her life overall and the circumstances that incited each incident do come pretty damn close.

I will always put Aileen in a different category than other "serial killers" because of how tragic and needless her suffering was. It's weird but I feel just as bad for her as for the guys she murdered. She was failed by her family, then by society from childhood. Used, treated like trash; even by the woman who supposedly loved her- the one Aileen would and did give everything of herself and her support to. . She should have gotten help. She should have had a happier ending. I don't see evil when I look at her, I just see brokenness and untreated illness, PTSD and anger.

Same for me...

Hey James! Wanted to let you know I’m also interested in seeing JCS be able to do this full time. Just want to mention you can pay whatever you like. I pay 5$ instead of the 1$ to show greater support. I’m thinking of upping to 20$ to help out more. If just 1k of us upped the pledge to 10$/month this might move the channel forward. Just a thought. Cheers!!

Bravo

Lethal injection is just going to sleep and you don't wake up. They are given a sedative that drifts them off to sleep before they die. That's a lot more humane way to die than any of their victims died. But I do agree death penalty should be reserved for murderers who brutally murdered multiple victims

Such an incredibly sad story. By the end she had completely unraveled. I think over time she developed multiple conflicting mechanisms of survival but under extreme duress her mind wasn't able to choose just ONE so she had constant verbal conflict even with her own statements moments before. She was like a cornered animal fighting for her life the only way left to her. Very sad.. and I doubt she really understood what truth was.. but more a instinctive survival.. like caged animals do. Very sad.. but what serial killer story isn't sad for everyone involved?

Another stellar JCS compilation. By the way, the initial video mashup to the “Brown Eyed Girl” soundtrack was amazing. i know a lot JCS videos have that and just wanted to say, THANKS to whomever is creating them.

That's just healthy Florida livin' right there.

I think one movie (this ain't a video. It's movie!) per month is an excellent tempo. If you do more like these, I'll definitely lose my sleep. Thanks again!

Yes and just living a normal life is an education in and of itself. Just consider all the tips and tricks you've learned from co-workers, friends and family. The small accomplishments in life is important too.

Or just as torrents?

Yeah, and to think she was a year in jail and solitary confinement. Doesn't really look like an even play field to me...

Great video. Once again it shows, what solitary confinement does to a person. Especially if they have history of mental health ilness. I can in no way understand, how a jury can decide 12-0 to put someone to death. Especially if they describe themselves as christians. And why should a joury decide the punishment, and not the judge. I'm very confused about the US criminal justice system. Procecution and defence dont rely on facts, when it comes to the jury, but on invoking certain emotions. Crazy... And what a fucking hipocricy, for the government official to say, that a lethal injection is a humane merhod. Barbaric! Little remark on the video - at some point you say electric chair, but the state talks about legal injection.

They did. Charlize Theron played her jn the movie Monster

Going through a lot to get in to this. Something is weird with patreon today

For some reason i can't watch it.Requests to server have been blocked. WTF?

I really prefer YouTube too since I have premium I can turn my phone screen off and the audio will still play on my headphones at work. Can't do that with Patreon/Vimeo so I'm stuck tied down to a desk or table instead of being able to move around and do other work.

What a Wild Ride... I want to do it again! You're the best Jim!

other patreons be like - great vid whens the next one :D

If she was 35 Jesus...She looked nearly 50

Anyways to make this full screen horizontally? For iPhone

It should be either exile, imprisonment, or death. When you do something terrible enough to someone then you have forfeited your right to the society. Where that line is drawn is subjective of course, but people draw that line where they see fit. It works some places and doesn't work so well in others. Life is an experiment all the time. I personally think if someone murders or rapes a family member or friend then those people should be able to volunteer to execute their punishment as they see fit. Give them 10 seconds in a room with a paper clip. You could do some damage with that. It's all dependent on the circumstances. People put to death like Dahmer or Bundy were a waste of oxygen. Those who made it happen were doing the world a favor.

Incredible job. I can't help but feel so much empathy for her. The world is not a fair place, and it seems that often the victims of life's tragedy become its perpetrators.

Adam Leslie

I live in Australia where capital punishment doesn't exist.. the mere thought of the state putting people to death as 'punishment' confuses me immensly. In my mind, I see no difference between the murderer (in this case Aileen Wournos) and the governors who sign the death warrants. They too then become murderers.. because with that signature the person is sent to death. How is that in any way logical? There is also no punishment in death. The punishment is not getting to live your life any longer, to be totally stripped of your freedom and of your rights. Being put to death is barbaric and I hope one day the US decide to get rid of it completely. Yes there are some horrible, heinous, cruel, brutal individuals in the world who we definitely don't want in society. Prison is where they belong. Another reason I find it hard to fathom is that many people are wrongly convicted and given the death penalty. If some new evidence comes out 25 years down the track that proves innocence what happens then.. it's too late if they've already been murdered. I totally understand many people are pro the death penalty and that's totally fine cos everyone has a right to their own opinions/feelings. It's just not for me and I'm so glad we don't have that in our country.

Tilda Swinton would do a great job in portraying her if they were ever to televise her in some sort of drama.

Dude you're paying a dollar, the video is 1 hour and 20 mins and would of taken a tonne of work.

excellent editing!

Serenading is with Brown Eyed Girl and then tell us the videos about Aileen Wuornos. 😂🤣 comedy gold!

these videos are so well done, its crazy how well you put these together

She was sexually abused by her grandfather and she ended up killing 7 grandfather looking men.

Some people has to be kept isolated from the public for the remainder of their lives, but still deserve to get the most happiness that we can give them.

Great work! but for future uploads YouTube>Vimeo>anything else

I smart linked my Android to the TV and then full screened it from there, hope that helps. I'm not sure if Apple have the same screen sharing function

(continued..) stream directly to your television.

Hi Jim, greatly appreciate your videos but please reconsider your choice of hosting provider. Unlike YouTube and Vimeo this service does not allow you to

Thank you so much, incredible episode

I went into this unsure if I would watch the entire thing as Aileen Wuornnos is such a well covered case, but as someone with BPD I found this so compelling and loved every minute of it! Very interesting to speculate how the trial would play out today.

Did anyone else have problems playing the video? It just wont start.

Absolutely stunned. JCS you've done it again. This is next level content, you deserve a big-time career with Netflix or something.

Thank you! Takes time to make such high quality work... appreciate it!

Kate

This was truly incredible

DISGUSTING

I do. screen goes black

Thanks a lot for this . This case is very disturbing- here I really don’t know what to believe. Best wishes from Germany and please stay uploading your content. I would wait even longer than a month , to see your work.

Just an unbelievable illogical absurd, saying that it is herself to blame for being attacked by this disgusting man, judging her for her choice of profession, that she enjoys power over men and thus has no right to defend herself because she is apparently less of a human than everyone else? These people are the ones who take pleasure from having power over others and probably go and use the service of prostitutes themselves.

Daria Adamitskaya

I don't believe the murders after the initial murder were in self defence. I think she deserved to be punished for those murders (one man was an old widowed man, no criminal record, lonely, wanting companionship and got a bullet in the head. He didn't deserve to die for picking her up however immoral picking up a prostitute is) ) She may have a had a mental break, would rather kill em and take all their money. But she shouldn't have got the death penalty, no way. Her upbringing and clear mental issues should of been taken into consideration. But she definitely needed to serve time.

you smash expectations with every video!! Amazing work as usual!

I believe she had a tragic and appalling upbringing. And I also believe the first murder may have been rape. The subsequent killings were just murder for robberys sake. She was clearly not well mentally and although she deserved to be punished there is no way she deserved the death penalty.

A bit disappointed by this one...not as interesting as the others, probably because i've seen everything about Aileen Wuornos.

Anyone else having problems with it not playing?

I doubt Jim C Swim are gonna jump on such current and ongoing hot button topics :P

corvdb1992 .

It's really interesting, because today the pendulum has swung the other way. Now it's about "men controlling women". While in reality, if you look at interviews of both sex workers & buyers, neither is true.

Exceptional work, JCS! Worth every penny and definitely worth the wait. :)

The way that Eileen recounts her testimony with frequent pauses and seeming to lose her train of thought is actually something I've experienced when I'm depressed and overwhelmed. Your brain seems to go blank and you feel incredibly exhausted with everything. It's like it tries to shut down. I feel that Eileen was telling the (mostly) truth about the initial "victim". As for the other victims, I believe she had less cause for the self defense argument. But the first one, definitely.

The same could be said for all serial killers though. You don't go around systematically murdering people if you're mentally well.

A bit hipocritical to bait, for you to then attack those comments. Pitiful.

Thanks, JCS. Now, off to watch Monster again!

That first "victim" I believe was a real rapist and wannabe murderer. I believe her testimony. I think it's likely that after that terrible first experience she maybe cracked and believed ALL her clients would want to kill her after that so she was motivated to kill the others. But that first one, I believe it was genuine self defense.

Your content is well worth the wait, great stuff Jim!

I’m seeing a pattern... I’m starting to believe Jim lives in Florida and the reason he can’t swim is cuz of all the gators... 😂😂😂

Yes, and one about vulture culture, looting taking advantage of the death of a man.

Or hundreds. And nice Edit :P

And one on looting, please.

Save it, works out as 30 days of 2.7 min videos. Which actually puts things in perspective about the amount of work.

Make them wait a month and charge them 1 dollar per vid. Seems to work

That woman's eyes are creepy as shit.

Indeed, they are always quick to defend other women.

This lady’s life was a tragedy from birth to death.

Thanks, Jim.

i wonder what the outcome of this case would bee if it were now in 2020. back then, being a prostitute was heavily judged and the prosecution hammered this into the jury. wheen hee said she chose to be a prostitute made me so angry. she really had no choice. having that horrible upbringing, being 14 and alone in the world with no education, the getting paid mere cents for jobs, that no one can live off that. prostitution was the only way she could live. also, the police definitely seem like they didn't do their job well. now, people have more insight into sociological issues and empathy for people whose life was horrible. i can't believe the was a unanimous vote to sentence her to death. that means they had NO DOUBT (it has to be beyond a reasonable doubt)) that this was in self-defense. arg, this case makes me so angry

it's probably harder for people tho "pirate" it. It's also not that bad, just lock rotation on your phone and it'll be fine, at least it's ok in mine.

It's always sad when violent people take over peaceful protests and turn them into riots. I hope this situation is dealt with and that looters and vandals get what they deserve.

amazing job once again. loved the breakdown of BPD. What a whopper of a video, you guys must have worked so hard and it shows. absolutely fantastic video, guys. I have friends with BPD and a mental disorder like that can be a real challenge when untreated for sure. So much empathy for Aileen here, even with everything she did. I have Dissociative Identity Disorder so it would be really neat to one day see Jim C. Swim do a breakdown on a case involved with that, or just on the disorder itself, like this video. so blessed to have this content while in quarantine, thank you for the dedication to this channel and its content.

no one in their right mind.

Wow, the uber feminists are really jumping out on this thread! Can't just admit that 7 murders are about 6 too many for a credible self defense rag, however terrible the back story. In all seriousness, it's a shame that she couldn't have been removed from that family before all her abuse happened. I think her whole world would have been different. She had become a "monster" in many ways as we understand the term but I believe she was a created one. Whether her psychosis was caused by her environment entirely or in part her own mental health tendancies we will never know. However, in a just society there must be payment for such heinous crimes. I think the death penalty was suitable.

JM

It doesn't excuse what she did but she never had a chance, abused and beaten by her grandad, she was made a monster rather than born one imo

Only thing that is certain in her case is that she had an absolutely miserable life. No excuses for having murdered people, but the whole situation is terrible.

Bless you for providing more juicy content for me to binge.

Jason BeanPaste

Exceptional work. Award worthy. If Emmy had an online/web category, JCS would definitely have trophies on his mantle.

Sqrley

I believe there a lot of unknowns about her, she had me thinking she was innocent at her first witness stand. It is sad to see her insisting on different stories where 3 different scenarios are presented. Great content thanks Jim.

when she says "at the age of 16" you can see the pain her eyes... its so fucking sad...

the amount of bullshit lesbians put up with in this world would prematurely age anyone XD

totally agree. these men were purposely seeking to sexually exploit women. its not like they are innocent victims.

Who thinks this woman is innocent? Or at least negligent manslaughter...

Caleb Coleman

Great content, Jim, thank you!

Dijon Marples-Wall

How old are you? “29” jeez I coulda swore atleast 49 hahah that’s a rough lookin 30 year old 😂 no hate jus damn!

This 'advice' is really harmful towards people who suffer from BPD. There are many people with BPD who have healthy and fulfilling relationships. Too often people with BPD are demonized in the media and they are severely misunderstood. Generalizations like yours just feed in to the stigma people with BPD face every day. Just something to think about..

“Pure evil”?? Leonard lake was pure evil, not Aileen, I really do believe she saved more girls from being raped, at least by the first victim

Thank you, Jim. Stay well.

Thank you as always Jim!

Agreed! The song will be forever tied to her now

Stel

And it was almost entirely the media to blame. People are starting to see through the media nowadays but it's scary seeing it back then.

Jack Hazardous

Excellent

I was thinking the exact same thing!!

ReSearcher

This is a link to a van morrison record?

The biggest shock of the whole video for me was that the ex-gf was 29!!!

I don't think I've hated anyone faster than when that prosecutor talked about "she even said herself she likes sex" to try and invalidate her story.

Jack Hazardous

I just feel so sorry for her. She never had a chance. I'm extremely saddened and angry about what happened to her, from her childhood, all the way to the character assassination. The lack of sympathy or understanding she seemed to get from the jury or anyone while she was alive, and how she was painted as a monster sickens me, human beings are so much more complex than that.

This was a fabulous documentary! The only patreon I actually subscribe to, always very well done!

Women murderers always get every excuse

Her actions were undoubtedly evil and wrong, but i do see prevelant mental illness that should have put her in psychiatric care for life

you should win an emmy for your videos, again would love to see one on Betty Broddric

I hate people that always have to find something to have a moan at. Just enjoy the video and shut up you fool!

Van Morrison got away with murder with that voice.

That end was creepy AF.

Anuj More

Damn Jim, you really can swim

Oh just go back to burning stores.

What a mess. I'd have a hard time giving a guilty verdict for 1st degree murder let alone sentencing her to death. The crux of the case for me was whether her police interrogation was more credible than her testimony in court. With all the crazy stuff I've seen police do on here, it's easy to believe her when she says she wasn't given the chance to give a full accounting of events.

Damn Jim 83 minutes. That’s above and beyond. Love ya.

It would be great if you could do a video about the psychology of rioting such as the 1992 LA Riots. I find it horrifyingly captivating how injustice can turn human beings violent and inconsolable in such a manner and in such great numbers- and I think it would be relevant considering current events (although these protests aren't anywhere near as violent as the la riots were). Thank you!

Nice ending.

Tyra was 29?! when she said that on the stand i almost fell over. looks more like 49.

Oh Aileen... never had a chance from the start. Damnit Jim, you’ve, broke my heart all over again, just like the first time I put some real research into Miss W. Don’t think I’ll ever think of anyone else at the sound of “Brown Eyed Girl” again .

It’s so sad how many prostitutes are murdered, so regularly, compared to how few or their murders’ are ever caught and/or convicted... Finally, a victimized prostitute is able to protect her own life, from these predators, and is “caught” for it, and it’s not, even slightly, considered self defense!? 😭 I just don’t know what to think anymore! 😖

Quality.

World is crumbling around us. JCS uploads. Today was a good day.

Everyone has heard of Eileen, but I would wager that everyone doesn’t know her history. I think her life and circumstances created a perfect storm of murderous intent. I found myself empathizing with her as her past unfolded. I’ve always held the opinion that we are a product of our environment and judging from what I just found out about her, she only valued men as a source of income and probably hated them for the same reason. I don’t condone her crimes but I feel like I have a better understanding of what motivated her. I wonder what she might have been like had she been raised in a loving homez

Sarah

1 vid a month is still worth the dollar. Keep up the good work

Candy

How do I find the rest of JCS' content? For example, police interrogations part 1, 2, etc?

not gonna lie to you: i hate the video player used here and i hate the fact that you only post once a month

Could you not have done it 2 seconds shorter and been like 12345😂

So true 😂

Arianne D. Foster

I had no idea that she'd suffered so much throughout her all too brief childhood. Aside from the abuse, she was unable to get enough of oan education to be able to otherwise earn a living other than prostitution

Helga Bluestone

HELL YEA MAN I WAS WAITING FOR THIS THANKS

The patreon embedded player is really shitty, please host on youtube or Venmo :(

Are you able to use YouTube for your unlisted videos more often Jim? Anything else is a pain if you're using chromecast (i watch you on my TV)

Useful comparison between psychopathy and BPD. My ex had BPD and, like Aileen, would juggle conflicting stories up in the air, changing from one day to the next. Clumsy and irrational indeed. Cunning and calculating not in the least.

Laurie Soper

When I tried to flip it in full screen, half the screen displayed the chrome tab? Very odd.

Katie

Still wondering if one of these big crime documentary networks will try to pick you up. You do amazing work and always love your videos.

When reading about borderline personality disorder, I struggled with understanding or being able to relate to the illness. I also couldn't think of any examples of anyone in my life that exhibited the symptoms explained. This video really helped shed light on the topic. To me, it is painfully obvious this woman is severely mentally ill and never should have been executed.

You need to have your own television show! Your content is riveting!

With this player I can’t cast the video to my tv or even flip my phone to make it widescreen, idk if anyone else has this issue

Thanks Jim. that poor woman

The best one till date ! This somehow makes me feel sad for Aileen, I feel justice was not delivered to her.

Actually I consider Aileen to be a superhero of sorts and a personal hero of mine.

oh my god. Those blue eyes when she was in court initially and how they turned into portals of black darkness when she was waiting on death row is shocking. maybe they appeared blue because of her blue shirt in the court room but when you look in her eyes when she is waiting for death row there is nothing but darkness and absolute insanity....I honestly don't think she deserved the death sentence...but thats just my opinion :c . incredible work as always jim!!!! <3 <3 <3

I think Aileen's story is so sad. Her sexual abuse started at such a young age and at the hands of many people. I've watched SO many documentaries about her (including Broomfield's) and the whole thing is really sad and it's like she was just fucked over from the start.

murmurzz

Thanks for another great video. <3

Wonderful as always, your videos are one of my favorite ways to pass time and take a rational look at psychology. My late mother had severe BPD, though I was too young and suffered by her hand to understand she was suffering as well. This made me think about her behaviors, and makes me want to understand the condition better. Cant wait for the next video

Ross Meyers

Stay Healthy Jim

Helga Bluestone

Amazing work! Thank you!

I didn’t think anyone could make me feel sorrow for Aileen Wuornos but here we are. Excellent work!! Worth the wait

your film making is growing I really love these I've watched all of your videos thank you

I don't know who Jim is, but dude you are a fantastic psychologist! I hope you work for the BSU or other high level role in USA. I've worked in forensic and clinical psychology in Australia for over 2 decades. Poor Aileen and her victims. She had loads of cluster B traits, mostly Borderline plus PTSD, or complex trauma. Parents, if you are told your kid/teen is traumatised, has reactive attachment, disorganised attachment or developing a personality disorder do the world plus your kid a favour and get therapy for BOTH of you. Sermon ended.

We watched the excellent movie "Monster" which was about Aileen Wournos. It was so sad, we cried so hard that we couldnt leave the theater... she just didnt stand a chance that poor little girl. All the chips were stacked way against her from the day she was born until her death. Great video.... some people just have a hard time of it....not always her fault.

Thank you!!! Ive always had a sensitive spot for this lady somehow and I just cant help myself somehow. 1h20mins of jcs is the best ending to a sunday night.

nice video jim! can’t wait for the next one! (even though we’ll have too) it’s always worth the wait though! not trying to be a dink or anything but.. maybe you could find something in my discography on Spotify for a future video ? or if anyone else wants to check it out feel free https://open.spotify.com/artist/1MHmhD8oJH1KQ7qx6Y5t90?si=DBCUuX-iSK-zB4S3GdGaGw

That was a great take on aileen. I never knew what her deal was at all. I always felt like something was missing with her case. Appreciate the enlightening video. Afterwards, I just feel terrible for the little girl aileen once was.

Ade

Amazing video, Jim! My mother suffers from a rather severe form of BPD, and I could definitely see a lot of familiar reactions...

Livv The Science Fox

Great video. Can't wait to watch it again, i already had a previous interest in the case but had not looked at it from the BPD perspective. Didn't even know that was a factor to be considered, i thought she just hated men but seemed to get along well with nick the director and makes me think that the media portrayed her as a man hating lesbian.

But, when's the next video? I pay 100 cents every month for you to just dick around!! It's been 4 hours!!

Thanks, Jimmy!

i had never heard of Aileen’s case before, and this made me cry. i feel so sincerely sorrowful for someone so misunderstood, and as a person who suffers from mental illness it is so painful to learn that she was seen as a heartless murderer when, had she received proper help, she could have been a woman with so much potential. and now she’s just dead, her mental state degraded right down to her final moments. soooooo, so extremely sad. my heart goes out to her.

Prostitution is all about controlling men? What a truly revolting and misogynistic thing to say. What this woman needed from day one was help she never received.

Very moving. I got a sense she was lying during her testimony, but what do i know. Always great to watch.

This is honestly a really beautiful episode. It really shows the other side of things. The way the prosecution was treating Aileen and talking about what she did was a living made me angry.

Jess Fae

Thank you for this one, Jim! I've always been fascinated by Aileen. Yet never considered her a sufferer of BPD. Interesting perspective... I definitely think her childhood traumas played a major role in what became of her adult life. A tragedy. Her defence for the death penalty was spot on: Aileen did what she could to survive. The experiences she carried with her determined her reactions. If she had only met someone who could take her under their wing, guide her, and show her love and support, I believe her life would have been very different... x

Virginia Orwell

Yes would be great.

Thanks Jim, love from Germany.

Thank you Jim. Make a new tier so we can donate enough for you to do this FULL TIME please?

That was riveting. She's a fascinating study and the insights here were interesting. Superior narration as always. Thank you!

Do Blaine millim,

Jim, do the Diane Downs' case, it's really interesting, i'd like to see your approach. Thank you for all these great analyses you make for us.

Well... LOL! now I’ll obsessively watch the JCS YT channel and wait for the new video. Should be coming out......soon?

It was awesome, i recently saw a documentary about her case on youtube, but your explanations made me better understand her situation. The thing is that i see her as a victim. She was so much abused and together with her anger, of course was going to get her at this point. She's not a psychopath She's just a person who got relentless abuse and just couldn't take it anymore. She should have been kept in prison, but death...she needed help, i truly believe she could have been rehabilitated with proper medical care.

Was excited to get my email notification. Thanks Jim!

The videos used to open with vimeo which allowed for casting to my TV, this one doesnt allow that :( have you changed the way theyre uploaded? Always a fan of your videos regardless. Thanks :)

I appreciate your hard work! I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for entertaining us man :)

the way the prosecution talked about prostitution was disgusting

THANK YOU JCS, for showing the world, the human named Aileen Wornos.

So why this shitty player again?

Fantastic insight into Aileen’s possible frame of mind. I’d always thought it was more a case of both circumstance and the evil she carried that led her to do terrible things, rather than one versus the other. Thanks for this, JCS! Truly fascinating stuff.

lol it's always florida

Jim, excellent presentation yet again, well worth the dollar from my pocket, worth more, always looking forward to your upload.

Chris Kirchner

Irrespective of whether it was self defense or first degree murder, Aileen's life was tragic and she clearly had mental health issues. Her defense lawyer did a great job of trying to bring that across to the jury; what a pity not even one person voted against the death penalty. Thanks JCS for another excellent analysis.

dat jury tho. emotionless, merciless, unmoved...

wow this is so good. her case has always been a fascinating one to me.

Would she be executed now? I like to hope not. I like to hope that we are awakened enough to mental illness. This case has always disturbed me. My heart goes out to her. I hope the mother ship came and took her away to a better world.

Thankyou for the video, It was well presented, engaging and informative!

Great doc, JCS Team, thank you.

Greg Gory

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or just an ass.

defendants should never give testimony in a trial.

Bob Getty

Yeet. YCS team should we expect the next at the end of June? Quality over quantity <3

Just here to say blah blah post more I spend a whole 1 dollar a month on this content and I demand more!

Is anyone else just getting the link take you to the tune "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison?? Wrong link??

How can I watch this on my smart TV???

my girlfriend has bpd and when she is off her meds she does exhibit a lot of similar (albeit not deadly/violent) symptoms. it’s extremely hard to get proper treatment and therapy for bpd, my girlfriend can’t afford therapy so she has to rely on her meds. it’s really hard to see, because the amount of stress and trauma that just comes from having bpd is way more then having a more common mental illness. bpd will be with her forever, and while she is getting through it, i cannot imagine being in this woman’s position. the amount of trauma and pain this women went though on top of having a very hard to mange personality disorder is insane. i really hope in the future we can have more conclusive and better treatment, medication and therapy for people suffering from bpd.

OH YEAH

Woohoo just got back from work and now have this to watch 😁

Yayyyy was worried about you during COVID! Happy youre back ❤
