This isnt the right video for the desciption

JimmyORizzle .

guys guys, can't we all just grab some popcorn and watch these losers squirm in the interrogation chair?

henry allard

Tiny one :( Knew nothing but a life of torment & pain... Growing up isn't great, but it's certainly much more forgiving than being beaten to death by your own parents...

"Aboriginal children are at risk"....Typical that they make it about race. Im sure tens of thousands of white children suffer as well in Canada

that poor poor baby girl. this could’ve been prevented so many times

I have a pretty strong constitution and can usually watch things like this objectively, but this really got me. She looks so innocent and trusting and just desperate for love. But all she got was hate. Fuck. This is tragic.

The mother is clearly a few screwdrivers short of a toolbox, but most stupid people stick to arguing on facebook instead of brutally beating their children to death... RIP Phoenix, hopefully your story led to some meaningful change in the system that failed you.

Kaleb Peters

There’s a reason intergenerational trauma is such a big issue. This trauma didn’t start with the parents. It was passed down from their parents and their parents and so on. It’s ultimately the result of colonization.

Kit D

The son’s horrific and emotional testimony followed by the beautiful baby pictures of Phoenix really got to me. This is a tough one to watch

I won't even watch this one... I read about it on the news.

Is it viewer discretion advised due to the concept of what happened or do they show anything? Reading the comments, it sounds absolutely sickening and I would never want to witness or hear the actual footage of something so horrendous.

SpyroShurtagul

So much of the fritzl case is still secret. The Austrian government has done a lot to protect the victims.

My thoughts exactly!

She’s high as a kite 🪁

she's with the lord now

I can't handle this one.

heartbreaking, anybody need anymore proof a pointless belief in a god, could have created a very different life for that poor child, but no, I gotta put up with dopes saying 'she's with the lord now', makes me sick.

25 years is not long enough

Shane Simpson

Poor baby. May her rest in peace.

Laura PL

If I wasn't caring for my elderly mother, I would move to Canada, become a prison guard, and conveniently find myself at the same prisons these two pieces of shit are staying so that I could kill them myself.

I'm against death sentence but these are the times that I wish that they had death sentence

Im not a huge fan of retribution, but .... samantha keyho (or whatever) needs a good slap. My heart was breaking for that little girl and she just sat there playing dumb! She is much more manipulative than she is given credit for, the way she skirts around the questions she is asked, someone who is genuinely ... of a lower IQ..... wouldnt be so cunning. Horrible, horrible.... thing 🤬

Love the CA ones!! Not one can ego up like a Canadian interrogator.

Couldn't get through this one

sick monsters

Zero Remorse

It’s cases like this that make me wish mob justice existed. These two…monsters deserve to have everything they did to that poor girl performed on them.

normally, i dont like the "they should rot in hell i wanna torture them"-talk under true crime videos. but here... i dont know. i really kinda wanna kill them too. i mean... that level of sadism directed at a litlle child. its really hard to fathom

Thomas W.

I had to turn this one off a few minutes in. When the voice over said they could hear whimpering behind the door. Nope. Too much for me.

i want to kill both of these disgusting things with my barehands and absolutely would do it if i were allowed.

the edwin lara interrogators were too angry, wes’ interrogator was overeager. good detective work isn’t easy but they did their best

Ibk

I know what you mean. I felt/feel the same way about Caylee Anthony. I felt so connected to the case and that feeling only intensified after that disgusting, POS mom got found not guilty.

Unfortunately, there isn't, and they won't. Best we can hope for is slow, painful deaths by disease in prison. While it would be a great thing if the truly sick and vile got what they deserved AFTER death, that isn't how reality works. And that's why justice is so important. That's why death is an easy way out of your crimes. There is no judgment, there is no objective good and evil, there is only what we perceive as human morality, and our ability to act upon it.

That investigator did an excellent job. He kept engaging the suspect, kept physical closeness, and managed to elicit information from him by acting friendly and humanly to an absolute monster.

Moritz

If there’s a god, these two evil scumbags spend their days getting beaten, burned and raw dog lube free fucked up the ass.

The Canadian Government has a history of forced sterilization of Indigenous women. Fifty years ago, she probably would have been sterilized without a second thought. I don't think anyone, even someone like Samantha, should have that forced upon them. What an absolutely vile suggestion.

"Samantha" sounds like someone who should be forcibly sterilized. She clearly has some kinda mental disorder. Slurred speech, mumbling, and zero empathy for her own children. Absolutely disgusting.

Yuna

It was and is super hard to watch....

constable randy hooker... wouldn't want to have to be that guy ordering pizza

I couldn’t do this one. As soon as I heard “the child was heard whimpering” in the first few minutes of the video, nope. I can’t continue.

Poor Phoenix, RIP, sweet girl. And thank God for Daniel; he is the real MVP! This "mom" acts demented, and her and him are both big pieces of shit. Hope they rot!

Poor little, innocent child, RIP now in God's hands and the glory of heaven; you are in a much better place than with those whom you should have been able to trust.

Oh, just from the first few minutes of the opening, I am sickened to the core w/these two evil scumbags but have to watch and see what ends up happening to them. Hope they each got life without parole, at minimum, because this is BEYOND disgusting!!

I live in Adelaide, South Australia, I'm 37 years old... Several of the cases on this channel I've known, this one was the one I knew in my vivid memory. Even on the other side of the world I was deeply affected by it. In weird way I feel almost linked tot his case, I know that may sound selfish, but I really do feel weird about this one, I wont say i followed the case or anything liek that, I was in my early 20's, I'd gone through watching the world trade centre and everything going on in the world at that time, but this case just kept cropping up, like I'd be driving around for work and it would just be on the radio about what happened, I remember discussing with people and how horrible it was. I remember hearing about the trial, again just in passing but again it stuck with me, and then I heard the verdict of life and the on going abuse. Until know though everything was international news, it was mostly that she had been repeatedly abused, or hearing about the uncaring mother. I remember hearing about brother(s) but either ddint' hear or missed the part about Danial rasing the alarm on all this... In weird way I feel a sort of sense of closure... I'm still affected, angry, disgusted but yeah after so many years I now know a lot more and well, yeah, this one was just weird for me, not sure how I feel... anyway just wanted to share my thoughts I spose... Weird how little things come back years later and yeah, while watching this I had a lot of memories from the time popping up in my mind, as is adi above liek some sort of weird connection, despite being way over on the other side of the world. PS I'm Not saying I had some spiritual connection of anything liek that, this is more just sort of "end of it", like as is aid I knew most of the details from Headlines/Radio news, so many of the details were just bullet points, nothing in depth.

Munchman

I know Eye for an Eye makes the whole world blind and all, but there are definitely exceptions to the rule. This should be an exception. Do unto those two what they did to Phoenix

Jacob Green

The fact he's asking for a lawyer after doing that... Like, from a moral point of view, how do you even feel you deserve one? It's evil man.

Wow..... this one was bad. That poor, poor girl and those despicable, disgusting "parents". Nothing more to be said.

Shit is sickening

Do the fritzl case please!

She was probably buried at night and the place looks different in the day.

I would like to you for that. Disgusting man.

Dang, you mad doggin' the mom?! Haha yea I know what you mean though. It almost pisses me off more because she isn't even convincing in the slightest but she keeps insisting and it's truly beyond remarkable how someone could have so little empathy or care toward their own child. There are some bad parents out there but it's pretty damn rare to see a mom have absolutely no care toward her own child like this. That's quite a psychotic sickness and for that reason alone she should be in prison for life and not out spreading her contagion, even with the whole murdering her own daughter thing aside

My blood is just BOILING while that pathetic excuse of a mother is pretending to not know what happened to Phoenix. That is single handedly the most infuriating interrogation I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a shit ton. No one has pissed me off like that woman has.

They always ask for our thoughts, well here are mine: Carl is scrawny like a toothpick man and I would like to snap his little arms over my knee, his little bitch legs too, then throw him down the stairs and let him spend a few nights down there. Let's see how he likes it. It's bad enough when people murder children, but adding daily brutal torture in before hand?

Thank god for the son coming through in the end if it wasn't for him you can bet they would be walking the streets again before you even knew it based on a manslaughter charge

these days, i fail to see the need for cps when all they do is fail these angels over and over again. it’s heartbreaking and terrifying.

Poor baby, monsters didn't deserve her. The other 'viewer discretion advised' videos didn't disturb me as much as this one, I hope you can rest in peace dear Phoenix and are in a better place, you didn't deserve this world.

Why did they have to retrieve the body at night?

i believe this is a big problem in australia as well...

mad respect for the investigator not saying "but got so far" at 19:47

"Act your age, mama, not your shoe size, maybe we could do the twirl" – Prince Rogers Nelson

kiu (aka kirstine)

People who abuse children shouldnt be allowed to live.

Sorry I meant her iq

She is acting like her iq is lower than her shoe size. "What happened in the basement" "nothing..what do you mean?" Uhhhh your dead child? You dumbass do you really think you'll get out of this. She obviously is crazy and should have gotten more time no matter who caused the fatal blow

I can't stand that woman

bruh the mcdonalds. what

When he took them to find her body, This pos talks like he’s buried some gold.

Panic,hurry,laziness..Fear of getting caught.

Its easy to consistently bully someone who cannot fend for themselves physically or mentally and who, no matter what, has to rely on you for everything so they can’t just run away easily.

Kemi Alawode

I don't get why people would bury a body in a shallow grave.... I mean..... That seems like idiocy to me but maybe it's a spur of the moment type action that blocked them from thinking logically.

I don’t understand How some could abuse a child why what’s the motive

Hi Jim! I would love subtitles on your videos, and would be happy to help out in creating them!

Brooke Ent

wow that POS almost had me convinced with his self pity and the remorse show he put on, and I was tending towards the mother's guilt. stomping on her head and chest? ffs. what a deceptive snake in human suit!!!

Hey Jim, love the videos, great content. One bit of constructive feedback; I find that the volume levels tend to be quite inconsistent. In this one for example, I had the volume up quite loud for the interviews and the narrator was startlingly loud whenever he interjected. I'm actually an Audio Engineer so I can help you with this free of charge if you'd like.

what a dumb ass comment

Lol nah. You probably just think this because of high profile cases like the Russel Williams interrogation (that cop was really good). Extracting confessions is a skill and art form a n itself. So every case has a individualistic component

The more JCS videos I watch the more I realize that Canadian interrogators are on average really, really good. They tend to impress me a lot

Drugs Ryan, it's called drugs... for a long time. That level of muscle wasting is truly extreme.

Liz C

I mean, I agree, but what's the suggestion? Eugenics?

Liz C

why that font, you mean?

Erik Sverkholt

𝓦𝓗𝓨...𝓙𝓾𝓼𝓽 𝓦𝓗𝓨?

I got five minutes in and I just can’t bear to watch any further. I’m sorry JCS. I love your videos but this one was just too much for me 😢

For gods sake don't make this political. We don't literally mean defund the police, we want it reformed. Over 1,000 individuals reported having been choked with a chokehold technique banned by the NYPD following Garners death. As a former psych major and someone studying clinical mental health counseling, I find these videos insightful, revealing two sides to every coin.

The left want to defund the police and let social workers handle all domestic problems.. Yeah, no that is not going to work..

Her playing the fool makes my blood boil. Pure evil.

She seems to be first nation. English isn't their first language most of the time.

Imagine being the one who loaned him the spade, not knowing it was used to bury a child.

I wish I could be alone with those 2 for a few days.. go to work on them.. id get medieval on their asses!

probably because he was put into a holding cell first where they remove their shoes. Shoe laces can easily be used to make a noose . Also shoes are taken as evidence in some cases

jackie scorpio

Why the suspects they wear only soks during the interrogations?

Poor fuckin baby never stood a chance, even if she lived, she’d end up even more fucked than her parents are

Drew Hanak

We all failed this child, and so many children. We all want to blame someone else, but it's our fault. Together, we have chosen to make Child Protective Services a lesser priority in our society. Most people should not be parents.

This guy is built like a space alien spindle arms with a only blocky torso. Hope someone gives him what he deserves.

it's like she is wearing an earpiece and is struggling to relay what they are saying to her.

What’s the password!!? Pleeaseeee

What's the password for this video? I'm new here plz help

They still have the right to remain silent though, right?

Abdullah, animals love their offsprings! Please don't compare these horrible creatures with animals <3!

I fucking love our legal system. In USA → I want my lawyer... okay we're done here In Canada→ My lawyer told me to stay quite.... Yeah but all lawyers say that.

BeeLee Lee were you talking to me? Oh well thank you for the kind words. No, I have not received any help & am probably sure I could use some. I had to look further into the case as all the details weren't given. Sometimes you need to be careful what you look for cause you may find it. The boys raped James Bulger, they stuck the batteries up his ass, & punched him in the testicles until they were swollen like grapefruits it said. The boys when questioned would talk about the assaults but when questioned about the rape would completely shut down and not speak at all. Like as if murder were one thing but the gay sexual assault was unacceptable to them.

Omfg.

not cool ! really sad.

I think you posted this comment on the wrong video, was it meant for the Aileen Wuornos one?

What happened with all the other murders? She had a way of making me feel sorry for her when she was blonde and sweet on the stand but she must have been like that with the men before she killed them. I do think she was failed by so many people and treated horrifically with a string of the worst luck a person can have, but you can't just go around killing people to get by. Imagine if everyone with a dodgy past did that,

Already I see the size of these social workers, u dont get that that obese not being lazy.

Why upload videos to a player that has no Chromecast support ?

Try sorting the posts from oldest to newest thank worked for me :)

Michelle

Is there a way to bring up all the previous episodes of this series? I have bad internet and whenever I click load more posts it only lets me get so far before it resets to the original first few posts and I have to start all over again.

Walker

Im confused as to why you're calling this an example of " genocide against indigenous people" ?? Yes the murdered child was indigenous BUT...the mother is indigenous, the step father is indigenous and the child was murdered BY THEM. So...how is that " genocide"? How is this something taking place " against indigenous people" ? If it was murder committed BY indigenous people, AGAINST an indigenous person/child?? Where's the " genocide"?

Daniel I pray you have received 🙏♥️ help. As a Canadian, I am disgusted how Indigenous people are treated by our Government. This is just one more example of the genocide that takes place against indigenous peoples.

I feel sorry for the 15yrs old boy, he witnessed his step sister being stomped to death, and stayed with her lifeless body until those animals decided to bag her up like a piece of garbage, how can you have children of your own yet be willing to torture someone else's without a shred of mercy.

I hope prison justice is served to these two idiots.

Sheryl Caballero

poor child didn't stand a chance. Life really is one giant lottery.

what on earth are you waffleing on about man? did you just watch the same video as the rest of us!?

Wow... I can't fathom what would overcome someone with so much anger that they would take it out on a 5-year-old child. I can't fathom the kind of abuse she would have had to have endured from them. Poor kid - probably didn't even understand why this happened to her. What a sad story. Disgusting "parents".

IKR, Makes me sick and what angers me is that this MAY have been prevented if those STUPID ASS Family Service workers had actually done what they're paid to do & carryout a thorough investigation. This poor beautiful innocent baby was failed by her so called "Parents'' the people who are supposed to love +care for her unconditionally by the court n justice system and CPS...... & where was the rest of the family...the grandparents both paternal & maternal? EVERYONE FAILED HER and more then just those sorry pos should have to answer for her murder!! They put this poor child back into the worst possible hands then they never follow up on ANYTHING, just take some dumb ass strangers word! Not sure why they gave up on her but it breaks my heart!!! WTF happened to all these unannounced visits where they keep full tabs AND DEMAND TO SEE THE CHILD so they can see if there's bruises..... UGGH, I am so pissed!!!!

I'd rather be dead than have that pair as my parents. They are fucking disgusting. RIP young lady.

So...she wasn't good with her kids so you helped by beating her daughter to death!?!? Oh, what a stand-up guy

This was tough to watch. What a bunch of disgusting garbage human beings that don't deserve oxygen.

I got through 4:10 of this video and couldn't continue watching this. I need 5 minutes with this guy in a room a metal bat would be preferred.

My guess would be that they needed to get to the body as quickly as they could to preserve as much evidence as possible.

Autumn Rose

So they go looking for the body at night when they could conduct the search in daylight???

Well they're responsible for the kid sooo they should have checked up on what he said, they know the kid was in the care of someone convicted of domestic violence.

Corporal Randy Hooker? You have got to be kidding me...

That policeman must have just wanted to stand under a hot shower after talking to that guy and just washe the foulness away.

This feels eerily similar to the Gabriel Fernandez case in the States, very very sad to see this type of behavior is not uncommon :(

It is unlocked for me, maybe try refreshing the page?

Pisses me off when they talk shit about CPS for not being psychic. You can only work with the information you have, and you can't treat every mother on earth like they a piece of shit, "just in case".

Hang them both with Piano wire.

i feel horrible for the investigator who has to call him a "decent man" and a "good fellow" ugh.... he did a great job.

Helena

Does this show locked for anyone else?

18:26 I would call a break there and continue later if I was the detectives.

Jorge Araya Navarro

I suppose there was never any definitive evidence that it was a homicide as opposed to an accident. That and the fact that the police utterly botched their interrogation of the mother, which made her testimony completely worthless to the prosecution. It's infuriating the way they treated the mother and destroyed whatever case they might've had.

He needed to be eliminated

Someone explain why he is free now? Like isn't the baby's life worth something? Talking about the first case

Freaking cruel investigator!

Listening to the case of James Bulger's abduction at the mall is awful. I wandered away from my parents once at a fun park and got lost, I was probably about 6 years old. I even heard them calling my name over a loudspeaker but I was too shy to move or bring attention to myself. I just stayed in one spot until my parents found me. At the time I didn't understand what I must have put my parents through. Now I do. My heart goes out to James's parents.

Congratulations, best wishes for your family

Cherenkov

I gave birth to twin boys two months ago so the story about the school boys that killed that toddler, INFURIATED me😡

Oh my god. That first interviewer made me so angry. Worst interviewers ever. I dont know if i could have stopped myself from punching her if i was in her shoes. What a stupid interview.

Neurocysticercosis

I guess the hate comes because they killed a "more innocent" toddler. People hate child killers, in this case the killers are children as well.

My father drove cab downtown Toronto as a second job when I was a baby. He told me the story of when he stopped jumped out of his car and started beating up a man that was beating up a woman severely. Only to find that the woman ended up on his back hitting him in the face with a high heel. Abused women will side with their abusers no matter what these cops should’ve known that after her firm stance and her first statement

20:10 'I ran the scenario through my head a hundred times.' So she anticipated the death or at least accepted it as a posdible outcome.

Wow.

Serious questions why do two schoolboys get more hate for taking a life than actual adults. I get its harder to understand and relate to cause children are presumed innocent (in our western culture) but still the outrange seems far greater than if an adult was convicted for the crime

19:08 “This is just a picture, just a piece of paper with ink” ... it’s a photo of her deceased daughter. A photo that was sprung upon her bc she did not immediately want to do something that went against her personal values. I’m honestly at a loss for words after watching that first interview. I cannot express how much respect I have for the interviewee’s ability to keep herself composed during the whole ordeal. I hope that both of those detectives never have the opportunity to put another grieving parent through anything like that ever again.

My grammar is poor here but i can't edit my comment.

Josh Trebilcock

I'm 35 now and from the UK. I remember all this going on, I was 7. Obviously at that age i took little interest in the news, as it was. but i also have heard of the on going saga of John Venables. That name will forever go down in British history. I'd# all but forgotten the other child responsible. I say child because they were children. The thing is, Venables has been a recidivist since then, child porn and the like. at what point do we not lock him up for life? hes forgone his right to anonymity through repeated crimes against children. Where can we start realising nature vs nurture IS a thing? This whole thing is still as shocking now as it was then, regardless of the sexual nature that isn't shown here and wasn't shown then. This is still a sore, exposed nerve in British culture. R.I.P Jamie.

Josh Trebilcock

The horror of the james bulger killing is still felt to this day in liverpool a true tragedy.

Hey your child just died here are some horrible pictures of you dead baby can you help us WTF she should be fired without pension

21 minutes in.... oh shit..... string him up. i still respect that mother though. Am i wrong in how i feel?

Josh Trebilcock

I'm 17 minutes in and that woman is so intelligent, i admire her here. the interrogator is out of her depth, she started on the wrong foot and is floundering. i haven't watched it all so don't know if the father did it or not, but i want to believe he didn't as i dislike the police woman immensely. back to it.....

Josh Trebilcock

Wow that second story to a dark turn. The fact that kid committed murder at such a young age and then he turned into a pedophile is absolutely jaw dropping.

I remember this case so clearly (I live in the UK)... I was working in a busy city hospital as a neonatal nurse at the time & had 3 of my own children who were, at that time, just 4, 6 & 8 years old. I remember the general feeling of shock among us as we considered the truly dreadful circumstances of Jamie's disappearance & murder. Everywhere & anywhere you went it was the first topic of discussion. People were horrified, frightened & then truly disgusted at the decisions made to release these murderers years later - and still are. Jon Venables, in particular, has shown that he cannot and should not be trusted in society yet he was given several new identities... (???) I do not believe he will ever be safe among the general population. The temptation to hurt, maim and kill is too strong and has never left him.

Boooo.

I felt so sorry for the lady whose husband is a baby killer. I respected her so much for standing her ground and keeping her cool, and those interrogators were utter pieces of crap.

Don’t take offence spooner, but I truly pity you. This was only a narration. Lmao. Real life is much too real for you.

Username55

Above tech issue aside, this video really showed me where my line is—once the kid started with the words “throwing bricks,” I had to tap. Kids, animal cruelty, and seeing savages continue kicking/bludgeoning a guy who’s out cold ... these’re all too much for me. Throw beheadings in there while we’re at it. 😖

Spooner

Is anyone else here having problems w the Patrion iPhone app NOT switching to landscape mode on these videos?? It’s makin me nuts. ✌️

Spooner

This one was very disturbing to watch....

I hope you don't have kids. Or that they're adults. Because Venables is 37, anonymous and free to roam the country.

haha playing through Disco Elysium right now.

funcrush

Wow.... They are just so hungry to close a case and get a win for themselves... I tell you what I’d be filing any type of law suit I could against this woman, Or exposing her showing what actually goes on in situations like this..

Yeah I have been wondering that same thing. I love Jims work but i do wish he would interact with us more... never seen him reply to a comment

They remind me of Cuno and Cunoesse

Hey I was just wondering...does anyone know where the police interrogation videos are for pts like 1-7?

That first lady was quite impressive in the interrogation, and truly seems to love her husband, despite probably harboring doubts on what has happened.

skye

According to our laws, the guilty has atoned for their offense by serving the time or paying the fine. There should be no more to it - everything else is vigilant justice, and that kind of "justice" will lead to a very dark world indeed.

skye

The interrogator just sounded so ingenuine. She would be free game for any suspect with an understanding of psychology and some intuition

How did the first lady not just tell the interrogator to go fuck herself?

I've always been strongly of the opinion that Venables was the quote unquote "mastermind" behind the whole thing and that Thompson followed along due to his home issues and lack of parenting and guidance, which would've led to not wanting to lose his friend as his family life was already a mockery and their relationships were inconsistent, but also have partaken in the abuse due to it being either an outlet for his experiences or lack of knowledge of what is better due to his "upbringing". I had not heard about the two further CP offences that Venables was convicted of, and frankly it solidifies my belief even further. I'm glad to hear that the Thompson is on track and getting better, but i firmly believe Venables should at the very least lose his anonymity and spend many many years in prison. I have no doubt that prisoners would sort out a child murdering CP addict out rather well.

if you look a little bit more on Rober Thompson though, he seems to have gone the other direction. a kid subjected to constant violence then turned into a murderer isn't that surprising. the time in detention and the stability that it provided to him managed to reinsert him just right in society. people need to understand that fixing people are a better alternative to getting rid of them. obviously the other one is a psychopath, and probably need to be kept apart from society until we are certain he is not a threat anymore (so probably never).

Venables's anonymity should've been revoked after his first CP offence. When I read it was costing thousands to set him up in different locations, I was disgusted. The big mistake was letting them go at 18, especially him. It's clear he still poses a danger to society, or at the very least is a disgusting leach that should severed.

its.lee.dude

I still can’t believe that European countries give ppl new id’s after horrible crimes! They don’t in the USA! You’re stuck with

Craig Mack

Venables should rot in prison. It's clear he's a pedophile and psychopath and has no business being in society let alone granted anonymity. Cannot begin to understand why the keep releasing him. There are HUNDREDS of people doing life in prison for armed robbery when they were teenagers. Not even killing a person. And here he is walking free. A repeat offender. Completely disgusting.

Venables is now a convicted paedophile who keeps reoffending and being given new identities and relocated to different parts of the country. A man called Anthony John Wixted was sent to prison for tweeting his picture. There's a world wide ban on anyone revealing the current identity of Venables or Thompson

That interrogator is not shaking that mother's intelligence and logic one bit. Mom's a survivor and she loves her daughter too. She was right, that room is where she needed a clear head, not hysterics.

penalties for child sexual abuse videos/books should be much much harsher, as well as for the abuse itself

Kael

I don't like her one bit. She's obviously trying to do the right thing but FAILING misserably. Hope she gets better at her job or fired.

I'm six minutes in and I already want to scream. Jesus Christ, this interrogator is unnervingly oblivious.

Cormac

Oh my gosh. That poor James kid. How awful. I can't imagine how his parents must feel.

Gregory B Dietz

I hope that interrogator got fired, that shit made me so mad

God, I feel so bad for that woman, lost her child, probably really does suspect her husband had something to do with it, reconciling all kinds of grief and loss, and that interrogator....almost unwatchable...but for your insights on both sides.

I heard one of them is in jail again, for the third time.

Leeber Snowy

I knew of that last case for a very long time and it was always terrible to hear, but now that I have a young nephew close to that age, I couldn't not imagine this all happening to HIM and not questioning myself how I would've dealt with the little monsters if I caught them doing this.

Ooi oi oi, it's so difficult to watch this interrogator

Holy shit I don't think I've ever wanted to bitch slap one of these god damn interrogators more then right now

Violet Chavez Gilbride

I can't believe they badgered her like that.

It’s unfortunate that JCM mentions they sexual component’ but it’s too graphic to go into. Jon, especially sounds like an abuse victim who then acts out to inflict that pain on someone who can’t fend him off (like he had been victimized). Letting those dudes go at 18 w/o strict intervention is asking for trouble. They were remorseful for being caught, not killing that child.

Wow that was just about the darkest and most heartbreaking thing ive ever heard

James Haz

There is evil in this world. This is undeniable.

if youre a witness and not arrested youre always free to leave

Damn that detective is insufferable

A short while in juvi, then great measures to protect the perpetrators despite their repeat offenses (CP and the such)

This has haunted me deeply but thankful that the baby got justice. Thank you for sharing!

The advice I was given was, just send your lawyer, you shouldn't be there at all. Something like tapping your foot can be seen as nervousness, & land you in trouble.

They’re from Liverpool, England not Ireland. Although scouse (name of the Liverpudlian accent) does have similarities to the Dublin dialect.

I love how the Irish accent sounds. We never, we never.... the interrogators sound so smooth the boys never had a chance. Sadly, that boy on the left was abused by his older brothers. I knew a guy like him & he was also a sex addict. I watched it ruin his marriage & family even.

Well R.F. Pennington I would most certainly agree w you on your advice on most occasions. I've also never been in trouble for anything very serious. Once I did play hardball w them & got myself granted a bond so high I couldn't post it. Sometimes cooperating if you know your caught red handed is not the end of the world. At that time you'll have to face what's in front of you, deal w it, & move forward again. The main reason you don't want to say anything tho is because your lawyer can negotiate much better terms for you if the state does not have a confession. Giving them everything is like folding at Texas hold em.

i have english friends that are older than i am my dads age and every english person i have talked to hates those kids and would rather see them dead its something deep down that event was driven into the minds and hearts of everyone in the country

They weren't scared at all, actually. They were upset they were in trouble and had been caught and had to face consequences. That's why the 2nd boy kept whining and crying about how he'd "be the one to get all the blame." Psychopaths (the first boy) and sociopaths (the 2nd) can't have remorse, so why would they be crying or fake crying? To manipulate the police and try and get out of trouble or appear innocent.

I'm a former LEO. There is NEVER a time one should walk into an interrogation room without a lawyer. Never, Ever, even if you THINK you are the victim. If arrested and placed in a room, when they get to the part about 'anything you say can (read: will) be used against you..." is the time to zip the lip. Not even a chirp from that point on. You may think you're answering trivial stuff. You may think you can beat the system. You may believe yourself to be clever. Answer is 'NO' on all of this. Being asked to, "Just come down and answer a few questions..." is like being invited onto the Jerry Springer Show...it's loaded, 100%, every friggin' time! Wow! my jaw drops on some of these JCS vids! Folks underestimate the grinding wheels of criminal investigation.

Mike there is no storming out as the door is locked. You could freak out but then they'd just tell you to calm down & say see you look crazy. You'd be giving Jim something to analyze. Once your in that room it's for a reason & they will let you know when the questions end. You can demand to speak to a lawyer & tell them they have no evidence of anything.

Genuinely curious, would you get in trouble for telling a detective to shut their whore mouth and storming out of the station? If being questioned as a witness.

Completely untrue. Venabels was held in Derbyshire England 40 miles from Liverpool, and the other also in the north west of England.

Lee Fraser

It is said that Thompson was the worst out of the two. I understand what you say about Venables though. Both horrible evil bastards.

Lee Fraser

Jim I'd like to know your opinion on the 2015 Hampstead Coverup.

I’m a strong person who like everyone here is very curious about such matters and especially like learning about the psychology and Jcs’s view... but I’m an English lady, my baby brother was the same age as James at that time and just from the horror that’s widely publicised, the heartache from knowing just that snippet and also regularly checking you guys comments, I just can’t bring myself to watch this one.... this makes me feel quite weak but maybe one day I’ll be able to stomach it....

Now that is a ride or die woman!

The way these detectives conducted this whole thing was fucking disgusting. They should resign after the way they treated that woman. That woman was a fucking beast and wasn’t going to let some bitching cunt get in her head. I’m not as measured as that woman, the second someone questions my love for my children I’m snatching you out of that chair and I’ll serve my time for it. I know I’m sounding like a tough guy blah blah sorry I’m just sicken by how they treated this woman. I fucking hate them for it. I’m being very emotional idk why

I think venables was the devil, seriously, he is some kind of inhuman evil entity, you can see it in his eyes, normal human children cant do this. He really does look scary. The other fat kid was probavly just easily coerced.

While watching previous JCS videos involving filicidal mothers, I always imagine how an innocent mother would respond to being falsely accused of murdering her own child. And it was exactly like this. Holy shit, is that interrogator unable to read the room. It could not be any more painfully obvious that this woman had nothing to do with her daughter's death, yet this moron detective has no moves beyond waving pictures of her child's corpse in her face and asking why this is making her upset.

In the first case, that woman is such a horrendous interviewer / interrogator. She has no adaptability, and she had no interest in meeting that poor woman where she was. There's just something particularly sick about insisting on showing someone a picture of their chopped up child without any remorse when they aren't an active suspect. I wouldn't have agreed to a call like that, either, especially with how it was presented.

Beth McLain

The bit that wasn’t readily available to the public, but you will find it in other sources, was *and don’t read ahead if you’re easily offended* that James was found with batteries shoved into his anus. It’s just a weird detail when you remember they were just kids themselves.

Laura Elizabeth

I’m always insanely curious when there is something soooo bad, no one will say *what* it is, only that it exists. I mean, that’s like saying don’t think of your nose; obviously that’s exactly what everyone immediately thinks of.

I totally agree with you. I watched horror movies, anime with lots from blood and true crime documentaries when I was young. I never had thoughts of harming another person.

Jordan Edge... I thought one of them went back to prison due to accessing online child pornography ?

Im from the part of the UK that the Bulger murder happened and to this day people still talk about it, those two boys have been out on witness protection all over the country as people recognise them and it gets dangerous for them to stay. What they did will stay in the minds of the british public long after theyre dead.

aw i miss the opening song

I like most of JCS vids...Because of his analysis of the interviews. This one was just sick tho.

Yikes

Greg Gory

I don’t know if it’s just because I’m a mother of a toddler, but this is the only case ever ( true crime lover) that I’ve been unable to watch

I live in Liverpool, this happened just a few miles from my home. So sad :(

ughhh these two are killing me

X c u

Geez, it's just 2 girls arguing how is this an interrogation?

If we're being honest, this first interrogator is a right bitch.

Holy molly... I had to pause and take a break at 40:26.... I don't quite know why, this seems to have been one of the most gut wrenching moment of the whole story.

sylvia Cucinelli

I don't think you can on Patreon.. but I'm not entirely sure

Europe loves their pedophiles. UK, Belgium and the Netherlands give out similar low sentences to pedophiles. We need the US or some kind of sharia law when it comes to these fuckers.

I was just about to comment the same thing.

i was thinking was i the only one that thought they should be killed off???? they are mentally insane one of them keeps reoffending and we dont even know who the other one is he could be in jail too they should have been executed a long time ago.

why can't I add it to my watch later list?

I found the James Bulger interrogations really upsetting. Unsurprisingly because finding out about how that poor little baby got abused and murdered. But I was also surprised that I got upset when the two murderers cried like little children to their mothers. They were so scared. Such a senseless killing. Very very sad case. The saddest I’ve seen.

Seeing the first interrogator compared to others I've seen on your channel made me wince a little. Seemed much less trained or inclined, perhaps she was new to the job and hasn't gotten a sense of it. Fascinating, regardless!

I'm not going to say it but....everybody knows why that first interrogation went so bad....Jesus the victim is more composed than these to interrogators.

I’m so happy to be a part of your patron now! You make incredible videos. I heard about you from Amber Loves Mystery on YouTube ❤️

The James Bulger case is one that has always stuck with me. It's the video of the two boys holding his hands as they walk him out of the store. I'm not watching that part this time, as I've seen the interrogation in the past. Although, I'm glad to have access to it. Sometime I might be interested in what you have to say about the interrogation. Just...later.

THIS ^^ I don't think I've ever hated someone so much in my life. We JCS viewers have watched a lot of hours of this, we know what interrogators will do, this was beyond the beyond.

The second story reminds me of the childhood of Joseph Kallinger, whose biography was written about in Flora Rheta Schriber's book "The Shoemaker". A really fascinating case, and brilliant book

sa.artist

*too

I HATE that interrogator from the first video. What a disgusting, spineless, creep.

Faster River

A big clue I've noticed (obviously mentioned by Jim before) is that truthful people get REALLY upset when you accuse them of doing something they didn't do. If you look up interrogations of people who ended up being innocent, they ALWAYS get emotional/angry, whereas the guilty remain noticeably calm.

Um, if you've watched these videos, there are countless worse people to commit violence against than a bad detective.

nice

I want you to go more into this, please - this sounds like a really interesting thought [I promise I'm not being sarcastic, it's hard to convey certain tones/or lack of tones via text lol]

The most frightening monster in this video is the mob reaction of "decent" people. It's not movies or games: it's growing up amidst people capable of turning into violent, raving, torturers. As long as there are crowds that act like that, there will be people that act like serial killers. Facets of the same dark gem.

The first interrogator needs a swift kick in the uterus so she dosnt reproduce. fuck that cunt.

and im addicted to it

I started watching rated R horror movies at age 3. Never ONCE had the urge, inkling, or intrigue to kill or even harm any living creature. Those children were evil.

that woman in the first interrogation is a total joke and has no heart whatsoever

PRETENTIEUX

reading your comment first (before pressing play) i want to thank you for sparing me a horrific tale.

I watch jim can't swim vids immediately trust me. But I've not managed to get past the first case even. That buldger case still haunts this country.

Love your content but boy oh boy that torture and murder of the 2 year old had to make me take a break.

Well... That was depressing.

ahhh sweet!!!

Cant wait for the new video! Tonight 9pm ET!

Haha, I've been in suspense too. If you missed it btw, two were added to the JCS Criminal Psychology YouTube channel. Over an hour and a half there though, Lee Rodarte and Michael Dunn.

wheres the new episode? I cant hold much longer :D

It’s nice ! All the thing you can do with 500 millions per month, I bet you can call them 24/7 and they will answer your complain

If people paid for Netflix and they had zero updated programming for the entire month until the day before people renew their membership I'm sure a lot of them would ask some questions. Also Netflix tells us the release dates of their new shows prior to their release so I really don't understand this line of thinking it's so asinine

What !?! I’m paying 15$ per month for Netflix and they are making 5 billions per year. I’m totally entitled to receive explanation about anything I please

Venables and Thomson were both held in Scottish secure units so that as children they would lose their Liverpudlian accents and develop Scottish accents in order to give them cover when they were eventually released.......for brutally murdering a toddler.

Paul Barton

Can’t wait

Cant wait Jim!

Zach

yay :)

Next episode coming 29th Feb / 9pm ET x

Having a lawyer present whenever you speak to police will never be detrimental to you, but not having one can potentially leave you open to incrimination. there’s no downside to having a lawyer present, but potentially plenty of downside to not having a lawyer present.

Thanks very much for the extra warning on the Jamie Bulger video (can't/won't watch that one). 😭 I was living in England at that time and the news coverage was insane and horrific. The sight of them still gives me chills.

Diana T

I don't know why the wife stayed there and put up with the crappy detective. In the US a spouse can't be compelled to testify against the other. The wife should of told her to eat d!cks and left.

Jim Frost

Wow, that defective made a mess of that interview. That was really hard to watch because it was such a cluster.

30k a month is LOT of money for production though

1 video a month is the normal. Communication is a minimum. After about 2 weeks the complaints start and for every complaint there are 10 Stan accts complaining about the complainers. Then the next video drops and the cycle starts all over again

Dude, we pay 1$ a month. Please don't be that dude.

I’m new so I’m jw. Is this the norm? 1-2 vids a month? Not complaining just asking. I mean $1 isn’t shit aha but I’d love to have more content.

Zach

I absolutely love this channel and these videos! 2 more days of February. The youtube channel has 2 uploads, and the paying patreons have zero. I hate being that guy I just wish there was more communication

thats 38,760 man hours a month/video haha

just think of the last video costing you 2$.. boom still a great deal

its actually a group of 114 different people working together around the clock to put this content out. so they dont really make that much working 85 hours a week on these videos

having J C S withdrawals...need new content

Bennnnnn

For what they did, they should have been killed.....what leniency did they show to James Bulger? None. They went to a ‘summer camp’ of a prison and when they got out one of them reoffended time and time again. You know exactly what the hell you are doing at 10 years of age, these fuckers are evil to the core. Kill the, and the world won’t miss them

I'm not "raising my pledge" when Im gonna get billed again for the whole month next week.

As far as the bulger case goes, i think people underrate the destructive capacity of a psychotic/sociopathic mind. These kids were bad apples out of the bunch. What made them that way? Genetics? Rearing? Television? Bad diet? We can spend time answering that question, and we should, but we also need to neutralize the threat. Imprisonment is the obvious choice as the death penalty would be hard to a populace to stomach when it comes to such young people. These boys did not just accidentally kill him and run away. They premeditated the kidnapping of young child, tortured that child like he was a terrorist at a black site, then were crude and wise enough to place him in the way of a train to make it look like an accident and destroy evidence. No rehabilitation. No apologies. No crocodile tears. The crime is too serious.

I have watched the new vid on YouTube 4 times already. I didn’t renew my Patreon membership right away and found that it made waiting for new material a little more bearable because I wasn’t checking it 17 times a day. Now it’s back to checking it 17 times a day. I’d like to extend my gratitude to the mysterious, elusive band of geniuses that make up Jim can’t swim’s posse. I love the material so so much.

Sarah

I learnt about the murder of James Bulger at a scarily young age, and as a Brit it hit close to home. And after all of the morbid stuff I have seen/read over the years, I don't think anything has surpassed that case. To think boys my age at the time of learning about the case could commit such a crime fucked me up. And it continues to make me feel sick knowing how little they were punished for their actions.

Sometimes I want to go out and commit a crime, completely destroy myself with incriminating, deceitful and suspicious behavior just so I can give JCS some material to work with. I enjoy every video way too much, I dissect people with this level accuracy on a daily basis and I crave, neigh, i am addicted, nightmarishly, to notes and narrations which explain behavior of the innocent as well as guilty.

Detective in 1 like a moronic dog with a bone. Transparent emotionally manipulative bullshit.

100% disagree. Women do good work in interrogations every day. Look at the Chris Watts interview and the work that the woman did there. The REASON this interrogation did not work was that 1) she wasn't guilty and 2) they were using techniques that did not help build a report with the interviewee. If the woman had instead drawn on the feelings that the mother had and empathized with her and asked for her help in discovering the truth it might have been a lot easier to get her to agree to help. In this case a Man might have even been the exact opposite of what you would want. You sound very Sexist. You should rethink your position,

At age 10 you can't want them in prison indefinitely, I mean they were after all children without full responsibility. You can't honestly want children to take full responsibility for their actions., that would be against common sense. The unbelievable nature of the crime doesn't change that fact. We know, that this crime is unbelievably evil, but they were ten, they knew it was bad, but not how bad...

Just an emotional roller coaster... Yay indefinite detendtion ... "only 8 years" what the actual F@#$? *repeatedly found with child porn and only got 3 years each time* I did not know it was possible to feel this level of anger...

Oh, I'm so thankful they got indefinite sentences, that's something at least.... "they were let out after 8 years" .... You have got to be F@#$%^$ Joking!!! *repeatedly found with child porn and only got 3 years each time* I did not know it was possible to feel this level of anger...

Me too. It was so awful.

Figured the Vimeo out.

I wish I didn't see the second case. I'm so sad and angry. Can't imagine how the parents feel, despite being years since it happened, their pain will never go away. These kids were (are) the definition of evil.

Secondly I don't think some of viewers appreciate the intricacy and accuracy of these videos. In order to produce such material heavy research must be conducted, then dissected, analysed and narrated still adhering to legal parameters of the web sharing constraints. Personally I'd happily pay £2 per a video even if the content had halfed. This level of psychological analysis is hard to come across. I guess some appreciation for the creators before adding s suggestion might have been recieved better.

Firstly I don't know how everyone has made it to the second to be alarmed by that. That poor baby just hearing about those injuries.

Daniel holtzclaw case ? Would be fascinating

The second case was disturbing knowing that the 2year old kid had 42 hits on the head and face is hard to believe.

The first case is showing for me how professional detectives should be and become more detached emotionally from the case. I would think that a lead male detective could have done better job while speaking with the mother as he could have shown more strength on the evidences while she wouldn’t have much to argue with him. She was able to deal with the female detective as I see she saw herself stronger and shown more aggressiveness to the detective because the detective tried to reason with her on the fact that both are women and both are mothers of their own children. That could have not been the case if the lead detective was a man.

I was surprised to see more than 600 comments on this work most of which are questioning why JCS is getting a $1 out of each one of us while he posts similar contents on YouTube! I’m speechless! If you don’t think he deserves more then unsubscribe and go somewhere else.

Those women detectives...man, they are emotionally incompetent. This is right up there with the kid that got shot in the head and was slowly going blind and the interviewer wanted to accuse him of murder and wouldn’t get him medical treatment

It involves some really horrific content about 2 kids killing a toddler in a BRUTAL manner. It's tough to watch because the toddler is so young, and also the kids who killed him are so young. I made it through, but it's definitely really tough (probably more so if you have children).

Bye Falicia

I'm beginning to wonder why I'm a patron at all. You post new things on YouTube and not on here. Why?

Gypsy Rose Blanchard

Defo should have taken note on the second case warning. Very tough to listen to. From the UK, I was around 16 at the time this happened.... Remember it well. Horrified me at the time. This makes you feel there’s true evil in the world. Am shocked and upset to my core.... wish now I hadn’t heard that. 😢💔

"The second case is really dark, a lot more so than usual, and some won't be able to watch it." OH GOD, WHY DIDN'T I LISTEN.

you pay $1 a month. behave. x

come on pussy. it is only a £1. support is support

I can only assume there is a new video on YouTube and not on Patreon because they want more people to make the switch over to Patreon and use the free vids as marketing but as loyal and paying fans, every new video on YouTube should be followed immediately with a new Patreon video. It’s getting to the point where I and a lot of other people will start cancelling their subscriptions

Why are there NO new videos??? Come on Jim! I pay for content and there is none. That’s not fair!!!

That's vimeo for you! It's not 10:00 specifically, it's the whole thing. To get around it, you have to refresh the browser, and try again. I had the infinity load happen at least 5 times watching this. Annoying as all hell!

XYZ1422

Pissing the person off that you want to help your investigation and instead of changing tactics when it's obviously not working you decide to double down is an interesting tactic and I'm utterly shocked that it didn't work.

Damn this man is killing with this patreon, we are ensured content for so long!

I dont like the layout of the patreon vids, like I cant scroll and read through comments like on YouTube:(

Chris Dunn

lmao

I actually think 12$ a year is a steal for tons of great content i can watch again and again. Hell, i spent 12$ on the new Bad Boys movie.. thats waste of 12$

lol hes making like 32k a month at least. i think he'll live...

Really blows that youtube is giving you the dick. Love the content!

It’s called a foile de duex a shared madness - same as the West’s or the Moors murders.

@10:00 the video stops and does not load. closed/relaunched, all that good stuff...no luck.

That first "interrogator" suuuuuucks. she needed a good bitch slap.

Sheeeeeeit. That first interrogation needs the warning. That 2nd one is child's play compared to it. I actually had to fast forward some of those two stupid broads interviewing the mom.

Did the mother divorce her husband?

i wonder if that first interrogator fell down the stairs as a kid and busted HER brain. what a complete moron.

juicy delicious

The WORST integrator EVER to exist, I have NEVER wanted to smash the teeth out of someones skull in my entire life. That mother held it together better than I ever would!

Lmao yeah probably.

This was the comment i was looking for. I absolutely agree with you 👍

The fact that Jon Venables is now profiting of his anonymity by carrying out multiples crimes is just insane. Anonimity until both were 18 is totally fair, and if they went on to behave like normal people that’s fair too. But when he does all the all the things he did, why give the man anonymity? Then you’re making the public more vulnerable because he can do whatever he wants because no one will know it’s him. Just crazy, absolutely crazy.

The trick is to upload videos just around the end of the monthly payment so people will continue the membership hoping for new content.

I'm starting to feel the withdrawal...must...RESIST....

it makes sense to me that in the first case the mother would protect her husband because he's all she has left, but i do think the detective had a point. like you're completely sure he didn't do it when he was the only one home with your daughter? she acts like the detective can't think objectively but she seems to be the one rooted in her own perspective. i agree that she owes it to her daughter to consider every possibility of what could have happened to her. that doesn't mean the detective's chosen methods were right though, or they probably would've been productive....

Yikes, I'm 34 minutes in. True psychopaths. I would've been 6 at the time and I never once thought about killing. Edit: Holy shit. One of the kids grew up to be an offending pedophile. Piece of shit. Where is the fucking justice.

"Greater good my ass". What a shit "interrogator". Who thought she was right for this job?

I am now 20 mins in and both of these interrogators should lose there fucking jobs

I’m about 8 mins I’m and this detective is fucking bombing this interrogation so far she is WAY to aggressive

For the rest of their life they get to be anonymous. They could be in this comment section. Which is bullshit. They shouldn’t be allowed to breathe. Especially the jon kid. Who’s obviously an active pedo. Disgusting. Side note: didn’t like the way the First Lady interrogated her. It obviously wasn’t the right way to do it from the start. I would of walked out of that room the way she was talking to her. She’s grieving and you’re telling her she doesn’t care. I would of jumped across that table. That wasn’t the route to go down you can obviously see that from her first interaction. Disgusting work. In my opinion anyway. I know interrogation isn’t supposed to be fun and easy but that wasn’t the way to interrogate her.

venables needs to be locked up. period. he's all kinds of fucked up

I really liked being able to see the interrogation of a truthful suspect. Would love to see more examples of this.

“we neva... HES A LY-YA” ohp! Put a little to much English on that one

Venables is the perfect example of why they shouldn't have received anonymity, but Thompson is a great example of why they should have. Its such a difficult debate surrounding anonymity.

man I really wanted to punch the lady interrogating the grieving mother in the face

These interrogation videos are like crack for me. Im already back checking every day for my next fix :D

Mark my words. Spidey senses are tingling. Jim will be back soon with another perfect video! I’m refreshing the feed until then! 😍😍😍

I was on a vacation to London at the time, I turned on the hotel TV and saw this cute little boy saying "I just got crisps and a fizzy"... I'd never heard that before. I'll never forget that, one minute something is so precious and sweet and then the dawning shock, horror and sadness of everybody.

Well said mate, knowing the history and being from the area gives a very different context. I’m a Baggies fan from West Mids, are you Red or Blue?

Oh wow can't believe you have this case, I have never before considered becoming a patron for any creator before on YT, but with this channel it was a no brainer. I am from Liverpool and was in my early 20's when this case happened, I actually know the guy who was the lawyer for 1 of the kids, although I am not too sure which. The lawyer was the brother of a friend of mine, although my friend died in the 80's so I hadn't spoken to his brother for years and in fact only discovered recently that he represented on of these, evil little shits. It is of course very easy to show no mercy to anyone who kills a small child, but these 2 kids are victims too, they grew up in grinding poverty with little to no supervisions, society failed them and by extension failed little James Bulger and his extended family, I am not trying to take away from anything they did or make excuses for them, they are both evil little bastards, but you have to wonder how much nature played and how much nurture if things would have been different if they had good parenting and better living standards and more money. I can tell you from experience that Liverpool was a very togh place in the 80's, folk from Liverpool are very resilient and always have each others back, features that they needed in abundance in the 80's.

andy MACKAY

Tbf, I can't imagine that his parents would watch this.

chlldren preying on children...disturbing.

I’m sometimes iffy when it comes to crimes committed by kids, I think that when you’re a kid you don’t completely understand what you’re doing and the consequences that come with your actions...however, that venables kid is clearly disturbed and needs to be locked up somewhere. He’s a damn pedophile and it’s only a matter of time before he rapes or murders another innocent child, if he hasn’t already...that’s insane he doesn’t deserve his anonymity at all anymore. If James was my kid I would’ve dedicated my life to find his murderers and murder them. Even if they were kids the way they murdered him was beyond horrendous...I’ve had bad thoughts as a kid but never would’ve acted on them to that extent of literally mutilating a little baby

I, too, remember reading about it when it happened, and also watching every newscast on it. I was absolutely horrified that something like this could happen anywhere in the world. I was in my mid twenties at that time. As I've gotten older, and studied these cases more, I have found that some kids are capable of the same monstrous actions as adults. Some of these cases don't make it into the news.

Black Seranna

Heartbreaking, I was living in the Uk when it happened and I never forget the horrific feeling when the two murderers were found to be children.

I feel so strange giving this video a like...

Statistics is a description of reality not a cause of reality

Do you think it plays a part though?

Isn't it tragic how there will always be at least one horrific situation that can't be prevented purely due to statistics? It's one of the most bitter pills to swallow.

Oh come on, she's a woman trying to come to terms with enormous tragedy and devastation. She's not a bad mother and who are you to judge?

Wow shes choosing her husband over her dead kid shes a horrible mother

Its crazy..

we don't see the pictures, but I assume they are revealing! The mother doesn't give a shit what happened to her daughter, otherwise she'd call the husband and have a conversation about why the daughter looked that way. But she'd rather not know and stay with the man because she's pathetic.

You act like this is what he constantly puts out. He warned you it would be hard to watch

Autumn R Arnold

If I were his mother I think I would have to kill John Venebals.

Charlotte's Web

Umm what the fuck is in the water in Liverpool... I've never heard anything more outrageous in my entire life. From the several people not calling the police when they saw a toddler getting abducted, to the fucking government giving them legal anonymity FOR LIFE. Oh, and also the creepiest fucking kids I've ever seen. Literally evil incarnate. They need to be put down slowly.

John D

Ikr I felt so horrible for the mother.

This would not be the first bad outcome that can be explained by a mother choosing her husband over her kids.

Cant get over how bad those women are at interrogations. Holy shit

The lady who is the interrogator from the 1st interview is horrible trash and shouldn't be in law enforcement

"This is just a picture, just a piece of paper with colour on it". Oh really bitch? How are these two clowns? Some random chicks who just finished reading "Interrogation tactics for dummies" and got their first case? Fuck them.

Your Youtube uploads are addictive, but not enough :) just joined Patreon, awesome content. Thanks for your work Jim!

I got very damn sick of it. It's heart breaking

JIM GIVE ME SOME CONTENT BRO

You can get one at Radio Shack

Lol this is like listening to a cat fight

Those first two moron detectives....Christ!

Jesus Christ

That first detective needs to be assigned to another role. She did a terrible job.

I can understand your passion, but not only did JCS give a fair warning to the content, but he has plenty of other content that doesn't involve a case with children.

Sorry, I forgot one of the bad kid’s name halfway through this rant so I left it as little demon fella

The fact that both boys came from homes, and even extended environments that were in a near constant state of crisis had to have been one of the more prevalent contributors in my opinion. It’s a conflagration of neglect and abuse, stoked by regular emotional upheaval with no semblance of any kind of coping mechanism(s) in place to quell an outburst. Young boys and girls crave structure and rigidity in home life, the lack thereof is so obviously a precursor to antisocial behavior that our society puts a massive amount of resources into institutional safety nets to prevent the fallout. I believe Jonathan and the other little demon fella saw their counterpoint in one another. Now there’s tacit permission to indulge in the worst, most violent, and sadistic of impulses, not only without judgement, but with a bulwark of encouragement. Then the symbol for everything they are not, ie loved, cared for, doted on, normality even, becomes a very logical target. They would naturally want to visit the same pain and humiliation on to this more perfect version of childhood. There was spite, envy and hatred in the actions of those boys. They certainly weren’t cured of that by a bunch of video tapes about Chucky being torched though lol.

You would execute two 10 year old boys?

Stewart Morrison

Any civilised society would have executed James Bulger's murderers.

The second detective eerily sounds like Lennon..

Second only to the boys murdering the kid in what was obviously an inspired manner, is the witnesses who did nothing. I feel not one drop of remorse for them. May they rot in hell too.

The interviewer of the mother is awful.

bruhh.. here i thought after seeing one of the previous video where the guy shoots himself. i thought i could watch anything.. but i couldn't even watch the second case...

Three minutes in, I'm so angry I can't watch the rest.

Well you did say the interrogator didn't go about this the right way. I'd say that's an understatement tho.

Omg that first detective lady... I would've been leaping over that table at her 🤬

ColorOrgy

if i was the parent sitting across from that detective in the beginning and she did all that i would have leapt over the table and beaten her to death, seriously what a piece of shit, hope she was fired after.

H.P Fuckcraft

I remember the case about the two boys who murdered that baby. What was done to him was the stuff of nightmares and it still makes me weep to think about it. I didn't want to see this video at first but then I thought, maybe, just maybe I might hear something that explains how two young boys ended up committing this sick, evil crime.

ugh i feel so bad for the mother. I would have been choking the detective !

Brian McDaid

Hey Jim when do you think you’ll post again!!30 days?

Alex

Fuck....

Pisses me off beyond belief how free those two shit stains were even in their “prison”. They even were able to get an allowance to go shopping and school degrees free. The poor boys mother said they even came to the same bar she worked at. Smiling, happy and free. They both deserve to be bricked, the mother is correct, he feels untouchable. Prison to him is nothing. Am not surprised if he has already violated a child. Disgusting justice system.

NEW YOUTUBE CONTENT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0H6xYwMQnk

I wish the girl in teh first interview would have told that detective to fuck off.

That venables kid just looks like a sneaky little shit. Don’t like to judge books by the cover but that one just screams “I didn’t do it, I promise!”

I think you can't expect anyone to do anything that they're not obligated to, and at no point JSC has promised to make this patreon his full time job or even devote more time to it depending on pledge's amount. Based on that, it's unfair to expect something you were never promised as a patron. Besides, I'm sure there's a LOT of people that cancel their pledge just before getting charged and renew it after for an infinite free access loop.

The fact that Venables and Thompson are allowed to roam our streets is absolutely fucking disgusting.

Jim Can't Swim has 29,000 pledges. Minimum pledge is $1. That means he (or they) are receiving 29k a month. This equals about $900 a day. Let's say he (or they) spend 3 hours a day editing and collecting footage, I imagine this is a bit liberal of a estimate considering the amount of content. 3 hours a day is about $300 an hour. Let's say he splits his work load between 3 people. This is still $100 an hour. I feel like with this kind of budget it would be possible for JCS to produce more than one video every two weeks. If you're paying a dollar, that's $0.50 per video which to me, is not very value friendly. There are also people pledging $10 a month, which equates to $120 a year. They get 24 videos per year. This is $5 a video for them (+whatever other benefits.) Lets say the average video is 1/2 long. This means people are paying $10 an hour just to watch this content. 12 hours a year for $120? Idk man. I love this content, or else I wouldn't be here, Neither would 29,000 people also be here if they didn't love this stuff. Maybe I'm an asshole and am misinformed about how much labor and cost go into the production of these videos, but I just feel like there should be more content. Please let me know if I'm wrong, and I'll never mention it again. But personally I don't think the amount of content has reached the potential that it could/should.

So two children not only tried to abduct one child and were caught, THEN they were able to abduct another two-year-old and assault him in front of many witnesses. This reeks of these offending children being abused themselves and the adults keeping the status quo and not making waves. This happens at your neighbor's house and you hear it. This happens when people abuse animals. This happens when you do not want to cause waves in your family when you know a child is being abused and you are afraid to tell because it will make your standing in the family diminished. SMH so disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself. You know who you are.

Julie Flores

People can choose what they see, that is their choice. We're here watching this content and enlightening ourselves. In the end, we all choose.

Great Video. If you were having concerns posting it, DON'T! People need to see analysis like this, they need the truth, and if the truth is too unpleasant for some, then they need to learn how to cope or overcome it. These topics need to be addressed. The second case was actually one I had heard about years ago, when I was young, I never got any answers as to what happened to the perps other than the broad details and the acts. Now I see the full picture, and I am horrified that the government of the UK is hiding him. There is a debate about what is to be done with these offenders, but it is clear he is a danger. He should not be anywhere around children ever. He likely can never be reformed, and frankly people should know if he is in their area... Keep making unfiltered, uncensored videos. People need to see the truth.

Cranky Fox

The Bulger case always hits home as I was the same age as James, and my mum talked about how everyone became extra protective. It's one of those cases, where if you live in the UK, you never stop hearing about it.

man I never cringed so hard at a police interrogation. That investigator is so dumb, and a shame to the entire force. She should become a politician.

I agree. I get that they were kids with poorly developed social understanding, but the fact that they're getting older and bragging about their acts in the past proves that they will never have remorse.

The unprofessionalism of that interrogator damaged the credibility of the entire police department and the investigation as a whole.

Wait wait wait. So he got off because of the neglect of the police investigators. Let me get this right "Yeah you did the murder, but uhm. your wife was treated poorly so despite doing the murder, I think you should get off on bail. =) "

Can't wait for the day Venables outs himself too many times, and someone acts on it. Yes, that's right, outs himself TOO MANY TIMES, because the fucking idiot tells people who he is, and then the police have to go on an immediate panic to burn his identity and move him else where. We can only hope that he gets the treatment he gave to James. Thompson at least seems to be keeping his nose clean though, which is good.

SarahJRandomNumbers

Jon Venebles is a sexual sadist. He knew this at a VERY young age. It’s not unheard of. A prime example is Jesse Pomeroy. These people are born this way. It would help if so many weren’t in denial about it. Accept life as it is. I can’t speak for the Thompson kid, because I see no record of him reoffending after release. But make no mistake, Venebles will remain a danger until he is dead. There is no getting better for this lot of folks. Just my beliefs, take them as you will.

I have heard and read that Thomson has relocated to Australia, with the UK tax payer footing the bill no doubt. I don’t know if that’s true or not but that might explain why there haven’t been any reports of him breaking the law. The officer who interrogated him was quoted as saying he was the most evil and manipulating child he had ever met. I was surprised that the one who reoffended was Venables because his lawyer and police said he seemed like the one who was more remorseful of the two. I guess no amount of rehabilitation could cure them

It is extremely difficult to consider what happened to James Bulger objectively, I think the content you have provided here is to be commended for achieving that. I thought the interrogation audio was fascinating, neither of the boys showing any remorse for what had happened to James...the tears were purely for themselves. How do we ever reconcile with the fact that they were both just young boys? I was almost the same age as them when they committed that crime.

Same here, that was a tough one.

For me the Venables/Thompson case makes it all the more difficult on the issue of rehabilitation. Thompson has appeared to have returned to society seamlessly, certainly with no further serious crimes to report, but everyone is fully aware of Venables's ongoing offending. It seems like one has been able to move on from the horrific crime, but the other is wrapped in it.

I read a book on the Venables/Thompson case about 12 years ago and everything about the heinous crime has stuck with me since. I was 9 years old in 1993, a big fan of horror movies, from an abusive home, and it NEVER crossed my mind to harm someone.. My abusive background actually created an extremely strong protective personality inside of me that had me continuously watching over, and caring for, those smaller than me. I know that everyone deals differently, but I will never believe that rough movies, violent games, or an alcoholic father will ever be reasoning for such evil.

Both were incredibly hard to watch. With my first child on the way this year, they hit me harder than normal.

James looks so much like my nephew. I'm not that sensitive to these stories, this is the first time i feel physically ill.

In the first interrogation, the cop who describes the autopsy picture of baby Jocelyn as just a piece of paper with colour on it is pathetic - How dare she describe something so personal, emotionally connected and traumatic to a mother so frivolously? Both those women really should seek a new vocation where interpersonal skills aren't needed. Truly infuriating to watch.

Miranda

I could kind of see the argument about the kids who murdered James Bulger given by their supporters, to some degree. When you're that young, you don't have the ability of foresight. A little kid dies, and they can't even fathom the chain of events or heartache it would cause. I could see that. I'm just flabbergasted that the one keeps reoffending, and they let him stay safe and in the shadows. They don't even lock him up for good, or monitor him enough to know what he's doing when he's doing it. Clearly the man can't be rehabilitated, so please do something about it.

The first mom being questioned, the one who wouldn't lie to her husband over the phone...that was absolutely heart wrenching to watch when they were yelling at each other. As a mom, I felt this surge of anger with her, and I really wanted her to flip the table or something. That was totally out of line and unprofessional.

I'm at the point in the video where I hear what the boys did to the 2 year old and I think I'm about to throw up.

Must be horrible for all three moms involved in that last case. To look at your son who is still a child, confess to a murder..

What are you guys talking about problems with patreon? Once Iogged in it was all good. Kind of blurry though but that's not Jim's fault

God that first interrogation is the most painful I've seen yet.

You did it JIm... Finally made me cry. Gee Zuss Christ that was brutal.

Way to turn a possible witness into a hostile opponent

Wow, this lady shredded these detectives.

The first detective thought she was being a bad ass omg.... she was just being an ASS in reality. WTH

Jim, to be honest you should ask Kizzume to re-record the voiceover for the James Bulger segment. To mispronounce his name like that particularly when the news clip you used clearly states his name numerous times is not only lazy but disrespectful to his memory andI would imagine is very insulting to his parents.

Mordecai

When it comes to John Venables (or whatever identity he's hiding behind these days), he should be incarcerated for life in solitary. He is obviously a very defective unit and has been since a very young age, and worst of all he's proud of his past crimes - There's no chance of rehabilitating that kind of monster.

Miranda

I see a lot of people talking about the vimeo speed, in my opinion its much better on desktop and terrible on mobile. Switch to a computer if you're able to!

Love the vids and all but this page is the slowest to load on the entire internet, and Vimeo is very slow too. :(

Thx Jim

Dumbest F'n "detectives" I've ever seen. They do not adjust their style or approach based on anything the witness does or says, just blindly barreling through despite losing the witness early and often. Bumbling idiots

Still watching the first case and BOTH those female detectives are absolutely awful.

Mar Mai

Message from Vimeo: "We are currently investigating an issue affecting the Vimeo player. Our development team has identified a potential fix and the player should be working intermittently."

I cant watch any videos. first time i ever used patreon and got to say I'm not impressed. Its only a dollar but i expected it to at least work. Hopefully some small issue that gets resolved quickly.

I'm getting the same issue...

EDIT-working now, ty JCS, look forward to watching.i paid but cant view for some reason..says opps this shouldn't happen try later for hours..no chance to enter password

Exactly what I said. That was so rough.

This was a hard one to watch.

The woman detective in the first case outright sucks. She is in the wrong field.

"This is your baby's brain..." JFC, is this detective for real???

Mark Keogh

Why mispronounce Bulger when it is said so often in the videos? It seems a little bit disrespectful to me.

mistymoose

I really wish all dialogue was subtitled on these videos. Often it's really hard to distinguish words being spoken (like on this first case) but if we turn it up to hear we'll get ass-blasted by Jim lmao

I remember this case when it happened & it was awful. There was lots of news coverage & even though I was a kid myself it still hit hard & it scared a lot of parents too which is not surprising. A lot of people still can’t forgive these two for what they did, the cruel & callus nature to them can’t have disappeared from their psyche regardless of what may be said or happen in the future with them. I don’t think they should be given new lives with new names, they should live out their punishments in jail with no parole or new lives. It generates a lot of anger in the UK even now, the fact that 2 young children could do what they did to him is beyond reasoning.

This is so sad, that poor boy :'(

I don’t have any problem watching it on Vimeo. Anyway the second case is beyond reality and heartbreaking, really hard to watch actually, I felt anger like I never did before. Awesome job Jim

Al these vids wont turn sideways

Agreed, the download speed is terrible, have to reload many times and many of the videos don't rotate properly for mobile viewing.

Vimeo sucks. At least let us get to Vimeo instead of having to watch on the Patreon app

Did the woman in the first video not know she could leave? (Could she not leave for some reason?) I would have left once they started being aggressive accusatory jerks. This makes me think I should have a lawyer with me even if I'm a witness- I mean I thought that before with the number of videos they don't admit the person they're talking to they think is a suspect.

that woman detective is trifling

I saw youtube deleted your Prince Andrew video......wtf. That was a very tame video. What was wrong?

MSau

I think most of us here would be better detectives than the first woman just from watching some of Jim's videos lmao

In relation to the second interrogation; When I was about 12, an old friend of mine told me a disturbing story about his younger brother and cousin, they were both 4-5 years old at the time, they shoved multiple kittens into a bag and beat them to death with plastic baseball bats. They were under the twisted belief that both of them were just playing with the kittens, they were of course remorseful once they realized the scope of their actions, the younger brother that I knew was an animal lover in every sense of the word and he cried whenever the story was brought up, both kids came from seemingly stable households. I don't feel like ending this with my personal opinion on the abduction, I'd just like to remind you that this shit can happen anytime, anywhere, the mind is fickle, humans are terrifying.

The detective in the first video needs one hell of a backhanded slap to knock some sense into her. She's a mother, too, and should give the woman some respect and sympathy in such a devastating situation. The two boys in the second video are pure evil and understood exactly what they were doing. The repeated offences of Venables proves it. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still a serial rapist/killer. He needs to be tracked down and shot like the sadistic animal he is!

You have to understand that there is the element of being human in everything. It is easier than you think to get emotionally involved in things you care a lot about. Not entirely their fault but I do agree that it was hard to watch

Those 2 women at the beginning are the worst detectives ever.

That fucking bitch in the 1st video! Both of those detectives should be fired!!

Guilty of what?

The second 2 boys could not and would not have done this without being satanically tortured themselves. Really makes you think...you know? 😢 The thought of anyone hurting a precious 2 year old rips my heart out. I’d die to save a child- especially my own. No 10yo just up and decides to torture and murder another child. Nope

I’m furious at those women detectives 😡

I understand letting them out after some development but after you commit another child based crime. indefinite sentence.

That was one of the harder ones to watch.

The fact that they let Thompson and Venables out is disgusting. Mary Bell also shouldn’t have been let out.

Ths sexism is strong in this comment section.

I'm only eighteen minutes in and holy cooow I am so sosososo MAD hahaha

Andrew L

I just don't understand children murdering children.

I'm betting female interrogators suck in general and should not do interrogations.

Do they put the potato filter over the camera, or are police actually not aware of the advancement in video technology?

That mother from the first one is on it, looks like she might have seen some of Jims videos.

I have no idea how that woman didn't reach across and slap that detective. As soon as they whipped out the autopsy photos I believe my responses would have quickly devolved into telling the officer various ways in which she could go fornicate herself.

What a huge bitch that first interrogator was

Their parents should have taken the life sentences for not raising them better or keeping an eye on them.

Jim Night

That first interrogator is the biggest piece of shit

My hands were literally shaking out of anger because of that first female detectives behavior. Can't even start to imagine my reaction if something like that were to happen to my child and some schmuck officer eager for a quick conviction was waving the autopsy photos in my face. Her incoherence even had me wondering if that was one of the first interrogations she ever conducted

What happened to James Bulger was one of the darkest tragedies modern Britain has and ever will witness. Simply unimaginable cruelty.

Thanks again for the consistently good work. The case of James Bulger was so disturbing and heartbreaking yet so fascinating. I've read that Jon Venebles new name is Luke Taylor and you can find him in pictures online with his gf Karon Baines. To the witnesses and us as viewers, it's a fatal cautionary tale..

The James Bulger case completely and utterly horrifying, I am actually from Merseyside (Liverpool) not far from where it happened. The community was never the same, (I was born a few days before he went missing) as soon as my parents found out what happened they moved us to another area of Liverpool, My siblings went to the strand a lot with my parents and Nan, but after James was taken we never stepped foot back in there. What was even worse is Venables re-offending again and again, and people have no idea where in the country he is. Truly a failure of our justice system.

ok but interrogations should probably be an exception. building rapport is not irrelevant or even talking down on someone to get a response is useful.

Jonas

The photo of Venables where he is smiling for what looks like a school photo is fucking horrifying. He looks purely evil. There is something about the way his face is contorted that looks almost animal-like. Again, could be the fact that his eyes are so close to being shut they look black, but it’s so unsettling.

what the Hell is matter with this female detective? "as a Mother.." most irrelevant term ever uttered by a human

In conclusion: A possible Folie à deux. Thanks Jim x

Angry at the killers, they were chanting “let them out” so that they crowd could deal its own “justice” they were and are still hated in the UK.

First time here and subbed. Such good work, the video but more so the research.

I'd also pay if we could get subtitles on the videos!

thank you for all your hard work..

all your videos RULE!!!!!

Apparently they sexually assaulted the kid and shoved batteries up him too. They shouldn’t have been let out.

Matthew (Zei)

That last story is absolutely horrific. The British and Australian Justice system is a push over. A drunk driver just killed 4 children in Australia and nobody expects him to get more than 8 years. Both of these cases would’ve been life sentence no question in the US.

Matthew (Zei)

Feels good to be one of Jim's 28k patrons! :D

DrMorphGTS

100% Guaranteed that Venables fella was raped as a kid, would explain the anger as a kid and the paedophilia as an adult

Oh no this is it. I need to space out how I watch these. Well.. from here on out lol

ben mikesell

Thanks JIM!

The first interview with the mourning mom was botched! I would have got up and left a long time ago. That went on for waaay too long. The audacity of the officers and then on top of that lets pretend Mom finally caved in and said yes, Dad wouldn’t have been home to call because he’d already been picked up!! Where’s the communication in that office?! Now the two little boys - we know who the original mastermind really was after their release. SMH - he couldn’t keep his act together for 3 years? Lies, I bet they caught him doing wrong way before that but kept giving him slaps on the wrists. He needs to stay locked up.

Faithfullmess

You can tell she doesn't care about the proper justice or conclusion to the case, she just wants a conviction to pat her resume. Disgusting behavior.

Cooper Belisle

I felt that way at first, but I ended up coming around on her. I don’t have a spouse or a kid, but I imagine that a choice between the two would be hard. I wouldn’t want to believe my hypothetical husband would kill our hypothetical child, and I think I’d probably get defensive about him too, just like she did. She definitely didn’t react like I expected her to, but she was PISSED when the detective questioned her love for her daughter. That’s valid, I think. She definitely did a lot of compartmentalizing, but that’s necessary in a situation like that. Questioning your husband’s innocence, dealing with the loss of a child, and trying to get through an aggravating and unwarrantedly accusatory witness interrogation led by an overly-invested detective—that’s a lot to have on your plate at once. My mom is the head of a school, and a student there just recently took her own life. On top of that, she just found out today that her dad (my granddad) has a lung issue that’s very likely terminal. All that on top of normal school-running stuff. But she spent the night watching a 20/20 true crime special. And I get it. It’s hard to confront heavy shit immediately after it happens. And, if you HAVE to confront it in the course of your workday, you’re not gonna want to continue confronting it during your free time. And the woman said she would probably break down as soon as she left the police station. My mom has the capacity to get through her day—checking emails and replying to texts that, in all likelihood, probably have to do with the girl that committed suicide. She diligently replies to the emails and texts, and THEN allows herself to get emotional about it. It’s tough, but she still has a job to do. And she’s fucking dedicated to it. I think this woman focused her mental energy on loving her family. She didn’t want to make the call because she trusted her husband (a reasonable thing to do), but she also would NOT allow the detective to question her love for her daughter. I think that’s an admirable stance to take, even if her husband did end up being the culprit.

Jack Landis

Crimes committed by kids are such a hard thing to think about. How do you handle something like that? Obviously, there are differing opinions on that. I think that, If the crime is something relatively benign—stealing, for example—then the punishment should be something like a fine put on the parents. But torture and murder of another, younger child is different. You can’t just smooth that over with a fine, and you certainly can’t leave that sort of discipline up to the parents alone. Kids can be fucked up for sure, but any child that can go through with murder can’t be reintegrated into normal society, at least not right away. I think a mental hospital would be a good way to go, but I’m no expert in child psychology. Jon certainly didn’t age well, though. I agree with that talk show host who said he should lose his privacy privileges after two child porn charges as a legal adult. It freaks me out to think that I knew kids who reminded me of the two that killed James. The interrogation audio sounded like how a bully of mine acted when he was in deep shit for bullying me, only with a British accent. My township was full of misbehaving kids, as many are, but some of them were just downright scary. None of them has committed murder, as far as I’m aware, but it wouldn’t necessarily surprise me to hear of something like that. On a lighter note, though, the girl in the stock photo at 43:56 looks like she could beat me, a 20-year-old, at an arm wrestling match.

Jack Landis

The first mother came across as cold. It's like she cared more about her husband more than her baby.

God that first detective in the interrogation was awful. She can barely get a sentence out and she clearly doesn't know what she's doing.

Were the crowd angry at the killers or the police for arresting them?

Too Much Sascha

The damn kid acts the same way he would if you caught him stealing candy

Too Much Sascha

I literally don't understand why venables is given anonymity and released multiple times after what he'd done. Or why either one of those boys were released. They knew they were in the wrong when they committed the crime. That's why they lied to interrogators. Just because they're kids that doesn't mean they're dumb.

Hi. Why do you say evil. To me "evil" adds a supernatural quality to the act. Do you not think all these acts are the result of mental illness or some kind of personality disorder. I never think violent/cruel people are evil, I think they are ill. I'd be interested to hear what you think.

This one ripped my heart out. I have school aged kids and a toddler. You think you’re being a good parent by encouraging the tiny ones to trust people you trust, a sociable baby is easier to pass off to other caregivers when you need a baby sitter, and when you have older kids that are around the baby, babies love being around older children and trying to keep up with them. I guess what I’m rambling about is how that sense of fear just isn’t there in early childhood. Separation anxiety is in early childhood, but babies exposed to more than a few people, being fed and having their needs met by more than a few people, separation anxiety is less prevalent. A baby that has no sense of “moms not in my sight, something is wrong” can be more prone to victimization because they have yet to develop that social consciousness of “trust is earned”. None of this is meant to imply people are bad parents for wanting a break or needing childcare, we can’t help certain circumstances that could potentially pose a threat to our children’s safety, that helplessness is just an occupational hazard

Oh my God. I feel physically sick after watching. No exaggeration. Oh my God. These crimes take a special level of evil, I think.

Darn, the video keeps pausing and skipping ?

honestly, if the sexual act was that much more graphic that it was omitted I think I'm glad I didn't hear what it was

Damien x 2. Satan's children. He knows what blame is. Venables needs to be destroyed.

First woman is guilty

Christian Vilderman

Jesus Christ, I couldn't even finish the second story. I'm sick to my stomach

The detective interrogating the mum is kind of an asshole. I would have walked out. How did she think that would work?

My mum rents 2 houses in the same part of liverpool

I remember the Bulger case....truly shocking

The mother is so logical and respectful. I would have slapped that incompetent interrogator.

The last one was tough to watch.

First detectives were appallingly incompetent and insensitive.

The child killers case was sickening, the sexual part of it should of had a great impact on the sentencing and the fact it was just pushed aside and not even acknowledged shows the gross injustice. The fact the boy committed sex crimes as an adult is no surprise. The corrupt nature of the media and those in power to disregard the nature of the crimes and not care about the young child victim is very sad.

Regarding the first one: would it be crazy to say that notwithstanding the fact that I've seen every JCS video (and learnt so much about the tactics used in interrogations) and even with the commentary on this one too, it is still blatantly obvious that the interrogation woman is completely incompetent? Such a gross mishandling of a such a delicate situation. P.s thanks for the continuous awesome content Jim ♥️

the first interrogator exposed herself wehen she said she is black and white. what an idiot

i hate that you made me laugh after watching this

Isn't child pornography for the please of the consumer/paedophile? So JCS is correct in using this definition of the word.

As a father of two boys aged 4 and 2 this was difficult to watch.

Hey where is TMC (The Most Compelling) Police Interrogations 1-8 & 10?

She did care but she has a very strong standard of personal integrity. Basically she thinks lying is wrong no matter what. That's not incompatible with finding out the truth or loving your daughter and the detective had no right to tell her she didn't love her child because she wouldn't lie.

That Jon Venables is a psychopath pedophile. If you murder someone, and were given parole, and you screw up ONCE you need to go to prison FOR LIFE.

That first interrogation makes me so angry. That mother has true integrity.

so who was the young murder convict from 1750?

Daniel Quaid

I have very conflicting feelings surrounding the Jame Bulger case. On the one hand the two boys are incredibly fucked up, and by the sounds of it, they both had problems long before James came into the picture. From what I remember, the program they were in at the time was in its experimental stages (don't quote me on that.) and fights would still break out often, and John Venables had an occasional violent streak while he was in. The program itself was... to put it nicely, NOT EQUIPPED to deal with Robert and John the way it should have. The goal was to attempt to rehabilitate them, but I think that due to the poor execution they ended up making it worse. I'm not trying to justify what they did.(I feel like throwing up a little talking about it). I do think that there were a lot of missed opportunities from this case (as far as psychological investigation was concerned). There were WAY to many factors going into this! Honestly I think they should have gotten a firm life sentence under constant psychological surveillance if only to get some answers for future cases.Maybe there could have been something here that would've helped us prevent another case like this from ever happening again. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go puke and cry.

second case was heart breaking I was watching while doing cardio at the gym and I almost cried ... I wanted to punch those two kids through the screen like fuuuck man lil shits ... but awesome job Jim like always you bring rationality to every video while allowing us to express our emotions

On the first case ... the mom seemed to be a better detective based on composure ... that detective was all over the place and getting owned left and right ... I kinda don’t blame the mom for feeling the way she felt based on her history

Ah so your daughter just died, here’s a slew of photos of her and an accusation of your husband. What a way to try and get her to cooperate

can you do an analysis of the interrogations of the case of richard Cooey clint Dickens, & kenny horonetz? that case is messed!

kids will be kids....

Mike Joe

Ever heard the expression that small kids can be cruel? They just rarely have the chance to take it very far. This is some really wicked shit though.

Dude!! I tried to watch The Who video last night. I made it past the first case and made it about 45 seconds into the second one and had to stop.... that second one is hart reaching.... I want to say something positive like “keep up the grate work” but fuck dude... that second one was fucked up...

I agree they should both be brutally killed, but first they should be raped in a drainage ditch while zombie morons walk by passively. British justice demands a sexual assault of the most severe kind on these men. They could have sent James Bulger to do it, but he was killed last year in that prison murder so he's not available anymore, either.

As a parent myself and knowing the James Bulger started ry as well as I do, venebles and thompson should have been killed for their actions. Instead they received a few years each in a comfy low level children’s facility with brand new identities both of which the British public paid for. Upon release, one the them was found later to have loads of indecent images on his laptop and was sent back to prison. If 10yr old boys can do such despicable things to a defenceless toddler, just kill them both, they don’t deserve to live and both should die i the same way they murder that beautiful little boy. I cannot even comprehend what the parents went /and still are going through.

Tortures a kid at 10. Gets locked up until 18. Get caught a few years later being a pedophile. Gets 3(!) years. Comes out of jail and AGAIN within years is caught researching how to fuck children.. Proceeds to get only a few years AGAIN?? HOW is he not locked up for life and under his own, true identity yet?! Do they like pedophile killers in society in England? What the fuck kinda system is operating this

I appreciate you highlighting an Alaskan case, Jim

The British legal system is a complete joke - murderers, pedophiles and rapists are constantly given tiny sentences, get out after a short time and do the SAME THING over and over again because everyone knows, if you pretend to have changed or say you're sorry, they'll go "Oh well, ok then, you're sorry, we'll just go ahead and let you right back out then". It happens over and over and over. The judges and gullible, pathetic lawyers who believe that "people are basically good" and "well, as long as you say you're sorry I suppose you can go ahead and go" are responsible for James Bulgers murder and everything that happens everytime they let themselves be duped again into letting those murderers out. Same thing happened with the two Swedish sisters. "Well, she's settled down now, let's just forget about the whole thing". If you think I'm exaggerating, look it up for yourself. You can get more justice in Russia than you can in Britain. It's like some collective psychosis. All you have to do is pretend you're sorry.

Pisses me off knowing that he was let go and enjoying freedom! Like wtf- in conjunction with the murder of that little boy, they should reevaluate if he should be free. Jesus

That first detective did 100% everything wrong. The girl she was interrogating was no dummy and she didn't realize that at all.

Only most the country.

The first interrogator was an absolute moron Great video as always

That first woman refusing to call her husband for the police is REAL AF. Congratulations to her for holding her ground and telling those investigators she isn't going to be a part of their ruse. And for yelling at them to stop showing her photos of her deceased child. It sucks that happened to her. The father is a real piece of shit. He should get life or death for killing a 15month old child. But good for the mom for not taking any shit from those investigators.

Oooof that was probably the hardest one to get through

Mike D Bunny

Agreed. She was reprehensible.

the first interrogator should be fired. i would have killed the bitch

Such a tragic case with little James. It really shook the uk. I pray for his mum and dad that they can find peace. 🙏🏻

RIP KOBE <3

nope-a-roodles. Thompson was a precocious manipulator, spotted someone malleable, did the deed, and then was aware the gig was up (at the age of ten mind you) and so confessed when advised by his mother.

actually no. One is compliant and hasn't breached his conditions (Thompson ). He is thought to have been the instigator of the abduction. Venables is thought to have "been easily led" and has gone on to re-offend. Not making a judgment either way but people spout a bunch of shit about this when commenting on events subsequent to the original abduction and murder.

The ringleader had a very supportive and loving upbringing.

look back at the intro of the level 6 psych video and you have your answer already ;)

You’re pronouncing James bulger wrong.

Lawyer: "Hey let 'em go man, they were just kids man, they've made so much progress since then man." Venebles: *grew up to be a confirmed pedophile and has probably raped, or done worse, to multiple children*

I hope those cops aren’t with the department any more , they are horrible in the first case, i cringed during the child case as i have kids of my own n couldn’t imagine the pain the family went thru

I would love to send those demon boys straight to hell

That's it, we waited a month and that's all we get? Come on Jimmy boy, we know you're doing better than ever just don't turn into the typical youtuber.

I wonder why no supervisor or someone watching the interogation stepped in and removed her. She is just awful. She is emotional.

Fuck her. She dated a POS that killed her daughter.

WAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Where’s the next video!?!?!?! I’m paying a dollar!!!!!! Just kidding Jim, excellent as always and well worth the wait and CERTAINLY worth a dollar. Very captivating.

why on earth am I interested by this content? cant wait for that video, jim cant swim why we all so messed up man.

Thank you Jim. Another great piece.

It's shocking to me that these kids did the things they did around the same time a study was published in Quebec, using statistics from other countries, about the need for a supportive network of people for children with potentially violent upbringings. It was a study trying to explore why there is such violence in young children and how a lot of kids with little to no support from either teachers, parents or peers turn to crime at a very early age. This is a testament to that.

She says "even if I did believe he did this, which I don't. I still wouldn't be deceitful to my husband" Sooo she basically didn't give a shit. Awful interrogation in the first one. Amateurs. Where is Mr Smyth when you need him!

as i mentioned, she did not dropped anything, it was intentional and she did not care, she wanted her phone call to close it and that was that. they dont care what the interrogation does to people.

Yup, i don't understand the evils that defend her

only future criminals speak like that.

(First case) Based on previous videos and other things I've uncovered by reading into body language, there is no change in the person's tells when she's shown the picture. She doesn't change pitch of her tone of voice, so wouldn't that indicate to a trained detective that this person is not reacting in a deceptive fashion? She's not pulling a poker face and she's being forceful and defensive when the detective is pushing her. Like... what's going on? That detective dropped the ball so hard.

Kills a child, 8 years, let out. Downloads CP, 3 years, let out again. Download manual for having sex with children, he is let out once again. Unbelievable the lengths the Government goes to to protect paedophiles. Disgusting.

James's murder shocked the UK. We heard that interview and how very young the killers were at that time. There was more hatred towards them than if they'd been adult men. That doesn't seem reasonable. In the 60s people found that a woman could murder children (The Moors Murders), and this case woke people up to what children can do. The fear and disgust it, naturally, created caused so much revulsion that the whys and wherefores were not properly investigated. Certainly the men they became should be viewed appropriately and people spared from any dangers they represent. I was glad there was a clip mentioning Mary Bell. It was before my time so I missed the impact it had, but we know she came from a very hard background and DID go on to become a responsible adult.

Made a similar comment. The video clips repeatedly say little James's name correctly. Not sure about narrating over something you haven't watched!

That first detective was laughably bad.

It can be hard knowing how to pronounce names between the UK and USA. Just a note that the little boy who was murdered is pronounced James 'Bulchyer' - a soft 'g' as in the word 'general'. It is a terrible crime that is embedded in the UK's psyche. May he rest in peace.

That first interview...no way to treat that mother. You said she had experienced abuse through her own childhood. I'd be interested to know how much the police treatment impacted on her original trauma. Terrible situation...she is a victim too.

Amazing work as usual.

God this one was pretty dark

Pepe

Imagine someone killing Venebles or Thompson, and the officer asking, "well, did they have any enemies that might want to hurt them??" Yes, yes they do.

Joseph Brzezinski

i was the same age as venables and thompson when they killed that little boy . still to this day i feel so bad for james's mum for what she had to go through and not getting real justice . i also grew up in a rough area in the northern part of england (leeds)and at the time i saw and experienced horrible shit growing up and had a hard upbringing . but at 10 yrs old it never ever entered my head to kidnap a little kid and do that to them. these two were just sadistic little shits plain and simple . i really hope the are found out one day and suffer a slow horrible death because the uk justice system is just a joke for letting them go

that cop from the first video should be finished like that . greater good my ass. she is not invested, she is simply lazy, they want to close the case as soon as possible no matter the collateral damage, we can see that in the interogations time and time again. no empathy, no understanding for victims and bystanders, just let us improve our statistics... and by the way, same goes for those two boys, no matter what they did, could you coerce an adult to confess like that , without legal council? i dont think so. and releasing this is just beyond me.

Regardless of age, a crime of this nature should not allow a chance for parole or release. Intentionally taking another life in a planned and methodical manner is unforgivable. To give someone a second chance after that is to take away from the meaning of the life that they stole. For the rest of their lives they can have remorse and regrets, they can be happy and sad. A luxury their victim no longer has. People like those two boys must be kept away from society indefinitely to avoid any more damage that they can cause. But instead they were given new identities to protect them. Who is protecting Venables next victim? When he gets out later this year after his 3rd consecutive child pornography offense, who knows what he will try to get away with next.

MyNameFits

Jim, as much as I love your videos, would it kill you to maintain the respect of the deceased by at least pronouncing their names correctly? It’s Bulger pronounced as a “J”, as akin to the word “Bulge”. I appreciate you’re American, but I also know you’re educated enough to heed to my request. This isn’t the first time you’ve done this. Case in point, it’s Dale Cregan as in “K.R.E.E.E.G.A.N”, not as you said, as in the french “creme” format, but he’s a complete cu*t, so your error didn’t bother me as much. Little James Bulger however, deserves better. Thanks Jim. Keep up the good work.

Never been a religious kind of a person, but I sure do hope these cunts will burn in sulphur for eternity.

P. Mattiantero

hard to watch, had to skip parts

That first detective was absolutely terrible. How did she even get an interrogator job? It was painful to watch.

Neither Thompson nor Venables should have been given new identities. 25 years later and they're still enemies no.1 and 2

If you need an example of the worst case scenario for taking your eyes off a toddler here it is. It’s hard to believe that actually happened. They prob should have just let the mob at them and be done with it

If that detective from the first case had thrust those images at me in that callous way I'd have told her to fuck off right there and then

How awful would it be to lose your child and then have some cop work you over like a desperate car salesman?

Im from Liverpool, these little fuck heads are up there with the worst things to ever come out of this city. I werent alive when this happened but people still talk about it quite a bit. Havent watched this yet so duno if it gets talked about but im sure jon venables told someone he was him when he was pissed at a boozer. cunt needs drowning in boiling water. Any other scousers here?

Venebles and Thompson are horrible people who should have stayed in prison for life. I hope someone recognizes them and brutalizes them. They deserve nothing more that the treatment they gave sweet James. Makes me sick. I don’t give a shit how rough there upbringing was, a friend of mine was shot and stabbed on separate occasions by his alcoholic father and he’s got some of the best character of anyone I know. There’s gotta be a point when we say yes they were only ten but they were still pure shit. I never skipped school until junior year and these little shits were planning murder on school days in elementary school.

Jim Reeder

the jamie bulger case is a really big deal in the UK, even now its mentioned often. Its so sickening that john venebles went on to be re-arrested for having child porn as an adult, a truly fucked up person

Thompson allegedly moved or was forced to move to Australia with his new identity and re-offended there just like his psychopath pal Venables. Thompson's new name allegedly was Dean A.... cannae remember completely but it is researchable. Thompson in Australia allegedely killed a young girl. I read about this in comment section on youtube to a documentary about the two. Via that link provided there they showed a picture of the killer which I thought to be clearly Thompson as an adult. Though that of course was never made official or public that he is the same person.

Trauma Punks

This was brutal to watch. Genuinely feel ill. Also just a request for future videos Jim. Could you refer to it as child abuse material? Child pornography frames it as a product for the consumer's pleasure. We shouldn't normalise that. It should be called for what it is, child abuse images.

This is actually disturbing

It's terrifying that those children were giving anonymity being they are clearly a danger to the public. Jon Venables has committed multiple crimes since release including possession/distributing child porn and because of the murder he's got a new identity yet again!

Such a great video, I’ve been waiting on you covering baby James 😔 I was the same age as the killers and it’s a case that always stuck with me. I couldn’t comprehend then how someone my age could do something so evil to a baby. There was a documentary on TV here in the UK a few years back where the detectives talk about Robert being the leader and instigator at that time. Given that Jon is again back in prison for child pornography (predominantly hurtcore and Male toddlers) I wonder if he was that cunning to make himself look the weaker of the two

Claire Docherty

ps... the officer leading the interview (interrogation) in the first story is horrible at her job. She shouldn’t be a member of homicide.

Venables is evil. He was definitely the aggressor, and it took longer for the police to break him than many adult killers.

I don't care how long you've been together or how much you love your partner, if your child's death is declared a homicide and your partner was the only one home when it happened- if it were me, I'd cooperate with police and lie to his face as many times as needed to find out if he killed our child.

As a mother of a 15mo girl it breaks my heart thinking of that poor little girl being hurt by her own father. I can’t understand why the mother wouldn’t just do it. If she was shown evidence that it wasn’t an accident as If you wouldn’t cooperate. Blows my mind !!! And the last case really broke me. Pure evil. I could barely listen to it 💔

Wow! That was so great, yet so terribly difficult to watch. Thanks JCS for the incredible work.

poison the world

They spent less than 10 years in prison but they would’ve been sentenced to death had the law still have been on the books?

Such a great video!! Thanks Jim

dear god....that poor baby....it physically makes me sick what he went through. Pure evil those two monsters.

OMG, I want to smack that first cop in the face. I can’t even with that. Brutalizing a woman who lost her baby??? Just cruel.

Deb

I can't believe those two detectives. The mother wasn't even a suspect and they've undoubtedly scarred her for life with those images. I've never seen an interrogation like that before. Mom was having none of their bullshit. And those two little monsters made me sick. Especially the repeat offender with the porn. His sentences were too short. Despicable.

I can't wait to watch this.

That first video was hard to watch. Those women detectives totally dropped the ball.

YESSS! Please go back to YouTube or some format where we don’t need to huddle around our phones or laptops

Good lord, that first one is a train wreck. What the hell are they doing? Those women need to be fired.

Edit: Bulger is the victim of the later story, which confused me when I re-read your post. To clarify, mine is about the case with the little girl whose father smacked her for not eating (or "to get her to eat"): "It makes me sick. How could you look at that 100% innocent pure angelic face, who wants nothing from you but love, and proceed to smack her?"

*holds up horrific post-mortem photo of your recently deceased child* ".....this is just...a piece of paper...with colors on it......"

Based on your comment and profile picture, I can tell you're a wonderful person to be around.

What is that first interrogator doing???

Exemplary work, Jim! Nothing like it on the internet, you're an inspiration!

every episode production quality gets better, keep it up!

(Error 420)

The beginning with the woman interrogator was just annoying. She was not doing her job.

The female interrogator in the 1st case is fucking insufferable.

Im a father of 2 boys. I couldnt imagine one of my sons being killed by these two in such a horrific way, i had to skip parts to get through with it. I dont care how young they were, i hope they burn and i hope someone still finds them and destroys them. Apologies for the hate but i cant help it

Something that always bums me out about my job -- working in retail -- is that we regularly have to make an announcement over the intercom reminding parents to keep their children with them at all times, since they'll often let them wander around the store unattended. After watching the Venables & Thompson segment of this video, having to do that bums me out even more now. Great video as always, keep up the good work.

Thanks jim you always dropping jewels

My thoughts on the Bulger case after it happened were they same: that it was the toxic cocktail of the two boys finding each other that made it possible. I felt like one must have led the other because statistically it's so unlikely that one willing child killer would come into contact with another one without one influencing the other. Having seen this it looks like they were almost equally responsible which is surprising.

Can someone please tell me how i can cast these videos from my iphone to google chrome so i can watch them on my tv? I just can not find a way to cast them without being able to open them in the vimeo app! 😫

Kaz Brookes

does the first one pass the bechdel test I cant tell

Can we just keep menopausal women out of the interrogation room? Thanks!

FINALLY

I’m a mom to an 11 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. This one hit me so close to home on several different fronts. The mom in the first interrogation...pretty sure she was in shock and denial and although I don’t know how long after the death of her baby this interview was..I bet she was on some heavy medication. BUT if anything happened to either of my kids and my husband even half seemed like he could’ve potentially even THOUGHT about being involved....I’d have made that phone call. Best believe. Having said that, there’s no telling what any of us would actually do in that situation. God forbid we should have to find out. Those boys.... I feel for them because of their home life. I try to shelter my 11 year old from violent and gory stuff. But damn.. it’s hard not to be infuriated with them. I know how innocent and naive that age is.. I also believe they don’t always have the capacity to understand death and the finality of it. But SHIT. As a mom to a toddler...I am pissed at those little shits. I’m pissed at their parents. I’m pissed at society. At CPS. At the witnesses. I will never let either of my kids out of my sight and people IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. This was a tough one from a moms perspective and probably for most people to watch..but as always a very good video. And it reminds me to be vigilant in the protection of my babies. I’m so sorry to those babies’ families. 💔

Really? I was thinking she'd be better off underneath the wheels of a tractor trailer.

As with most people from the UK i must say the Bulger case is still as heart breaking now as it ever was. I know about Venebals later convictions I also know he lived in the south at one point. I believe I know what college he went to. But it has never been confirmed as the staff can't confirm it. It's ridiculous but he would be killed if people knew. (Not saying he doesn't deserve it). If we still had the death penalty they would have received it I'm sure. Unimaginably sick and twisted.

Ok, so her husband beat their child to death. Horrible monster. But I have to say, I respect the f*** out of her ride-or-die mentality and her refusal to give up her man. They need to make more women like her.

This has got to be the most heartbreaking case I have actually watched on any medium. I remember the boys taking him and just heard he had died, but not how. The UK is fairly unforgiving. There is no doubt in my mind those two boys, now men, would be dead. One definitely should be obviously. Yes I said it. This is truly shocking.

UK, our legal system's really lenient. Unless you dont pay your TV license, they'll lock you up for that.

This interrogator is the R word

Have you heard of the caliyah mcnabb case? Might be one we see jim cover, i think theres interrogation footage...

This last case is truly heartbreaking...

This first investigator reminds me of a psycho former coworker

vanceknoll

The conduct of the investigator in the first interrogation is absolutely disgusting

I live two minutes walk away from where little James body was found, our community willl never forget you......Rest In Peace

As I listened to this I was rocking my son to sleep. With him in my arms I couldn't reach over to turn off my phone without waking him (he's sick and hasn't slept very well for days) so instead I suffered through it ringing in my earbuds. A poor choice in timing on my part, but gave me pause. As a man, I just don't see how a father could have it in them to do what Bulger did. I get frustrated with my tiny human but the thought of striking him because he won't eat is unfathomable. I am at a loss right now, I can't even complete the thought process I had when I started typing this out.

The anonymity thing really gets me. What obligation does the government have to preserve the anonymity of an adult pedophile - when the anonymity was awarded to him as a child? He will do it again and again. That is downright scary.

8 years for brutal murder.. 3 years for explicit photos of children and 3 years for pedophilia.. what?!

They pronounced it properly a dozen times in the news clips too. I’m always blown away by blatant mispronunciations. Still love you JCS!

Riveting as always...thank you!

As usual, great video. Thanks!

You guys are by far my favorite content creators!

Christ, I can’t even watch this. The ones involving kids just destroy me.

not bad my friend.... not bad at all.

Robert

I will say it again, i love your video and i am thankful for your work, but could you use the Youtube video player as you use to.. For the non native English speaker, we appreciate to can use the auto caption option.. On Vimeo there is no way to have subtitles. Anyway awesome work as usual.

They say the US has harsh laws but my god.. the UK is on the opposite side of the spectrum. What a joke

mans been grinding. leave him be

The first detective really made me want to beat the shit out of her.

most likely they were, i’m just wondering how can someone inflict this pain on someone else when they went through that themselves.

Fuck yea Jim u the man!!

If that were my child in the first interrogation I would’ve been charged with assault, disgusting how far she went

Something Somebody

Woah, another JCS video

I know it says “viewer discretion is advised” but fuck me this one is tough

Null

He does make mention of the sexual abuse that was too grotesque to report by the media at the time. It must’ve been appalling, otherwise, it would have been explained. Not many things JCS thinks too horrible to share.

gonna be waiting for you next month you lazy bastard

heartbreaking

coffee

If he was innocent it proves to him that she believed he could murder their child. Imagine being innocent of such a thing but your wife acts like she assumed you did

i'm feeling the same way. people harp on "its only a dollar".. for some people, its a very important dollar and we're giving our last to support independent content. but when you see an independent creator getting over $30k a month with barely one post per month, it really makes you rethink your small but important contribution

vernables is now in her majesties pedo protection scheme.

Bob Getty

apparently Liam Neeson witnessed this shit

Taylor S.

im stopping my subscription at the end of February if there isn't more content in the next month.

Man, that last one got me in the heart. I have three little ones, and for anyone to abuse a toddler like that is infuriating. I had to call and talk to my kids after this video.

I am also from the UK and am a year younger than Venables and Thompson. Equally I have no real contemporary insight (given I was 8/9) but I do vividly recall the boys being taken to court in the back of a police van and I remember the crowd of maybe 100/200 baying for the blood of these children. I thought then, and I suppose now - if adults are willing to act like this why should we then be surprised when they too are violent and hateful? A childish logic sure, but I feel valid. The fact Venables went on to commit serious sex offences in relation to children in many minds vindicated such hateful attitudes. I don’t think it shows a failing of psychology, or the limits of psychology - these children were systematically failed by every supposed guardian they ever had. From their parents, to their legal representation, to the way the public and government treated them, and all the way though their incarceration - systemically failed. The murder of poor James Bulger is a scar on the national conscience - on so many levels.

I’m mostly a skeptic and a realist and I follow A LOT of true crime. I’ve seen tons of police interviews and interrogations. Obviously this doesn’t make me an expert but I’ve seen how guilty people act. I really believed the mother in the first interview and felt outraged at how she was being treated. It’s still a tough call. The cops saw the trauma for what it was but were callous in how they handled the situation with the mother. I’m curious to know if she continued to stand by her husband through all of it. I was familiar with the bulger case already but had no idea that one of the culprits turned out to be an adult pedophile. Disturbing stuff. I enjoyed it and will probably watch about 5 times waiting on the next installment. Thanks!

Sarah

lmao that uncle

How do you think that applies here, mate? (honest question)

That first interrogator was unbelievable bad

God..it was hard listening to that James Bulgar case. Felt like I was gonna have a panic attack.

While I felt the interrogator in the first clip went too far, the mother/wife was not exactly responding with cooperation. More could've been done on both parties to figure out a way to work together. In the end, it looks like even though her husband confessed, her part in not trying to figure out how her child truly died might let him off the hook.

Englands justice system has and still is a complete joke in my opinion. Pedophiles and child rapists are regularly given extremely lenient sentences even for multiple offenses. It's embarrassing.

Finished that segment... so he was hitting her... damn. I'm so curious about what else happened now, did he kill her by accident and stage the murder... It's still completely obvious the mother was being truthful (either that or the best liar ever) but you did in fact not lead me to a conclusion. Damn i love your content Jim, thanks again

I hope you use some of your patreon earnings to get yourself some swimming lessons. Great video like always Jim!

Great upload as usual JCS. In the 1st case- the interviewer had the completely wrong tactic on all fronts. She should have done a far more empathetic approach and still explained how it had to be the husband but in a far softer manner. Showing her the autopsy pictures? Disgusting. Re: her not wanting to record her husband this is a tough call. I feel she was still, as JCS stated- potentially in the denial phase of grief. No one would want to believe that their husband killed their child. If she had never seen her husband hurt or abuse her child, all the more reason for her to not want to believe it. My husband is a one of a kind genuine man who I couldn't conceive of even hurting a fly, so I think should it be me in that situation I would be in denial as well. Especially that soon after the death. The James Bulger analysis. Sigh. Seeing his little face at the end dancing around and playing on the trampoline. I felt my heart tear. I cannot imagine what his family went through. I do think the 2 boys should have been further analysed and scrutinised for past indicators, attempts at rehabilitation outside of a jail format, and of course to see if their release at 18 was even a thing to be considered. Venebles is clearly still a danger. Thompson- unknown due to hearing nothing further.

This. This so fucking much.

I'm thinking there must have been. It was my first time hearing them as well

Jesus Christ, I felt SO BAD for that first lady. The interrogator lost control of the room almost immediately and never did regain any control.

Holy shot another good one, Jim. I can’t believe that mom, ya you can’t believe it... but if your husband is innocent, what harm could the phone call do???

Totally agree, the woman's earth has just shattered and she remains incredibly composed. How many of us, if a family member died, would be able to comprehend that another loved one did it?

I've heard this case quite a few times from the other true crime channels I've seen. Both boys were SEVERELY physically, sexually and emotionally abused. I'm not surprised these two traumatized kids found each other

Hey Jim, thanks for the new video. Paused watching the first video @12:38. Sometimes i feel as though you lead me with regard my thoughts. Here i'm thinking 'how awful, this detective questioning her like this, this lady could be autistic, in denial, obviously believes her husband is innocent and is scared of losing her whole family' but i feel as though it's because i believe she and her boyfriend are innocent (i'm not sure yet, haven't watched) so it's feeding my confirmation bias. At the same time i'm reflecting on your other videos and thinking about all the other times detectives questioned witnesses in this manner and the witness was lying or guilty i'm thinking 'well this detective is just doing her job trying to find the truth.' and i wonder if maybe you could maintain more suspense in your videos, to enable me to watch and ask questions without a previous bias. That way i could have more rewatch value in your videos. If i could compare, i think your videos about Lazarus and the Colonel had much more scope for questioning, while your recent Dalia episode started out with 'here, she's guilty, lets break down the psychology'. To be honest... i enjoy both styles of videos, i just would have preferred in this police interrogations segment that i be unsure whether the boyfriend was guilty or not, just to analyse the psychology with less bias. I'm not complaining, just observing, i enjoy both approaches. "You can't please all the people all the time." Thanks again for all the videos :)

Totally agree, remarkable clarity of mind,

Didn't think either case was so black and white - both so nuanced that it is close to impossible to define what is 'justice' in either.

It's incredible to think that society can look at the Bulger killers and blame Child's Play 3 over an upbringing in rape and torture.

the mother in the first is impressive

I genuinely hope she got sacked. How she thought that was a proper way to conduct an interview is beyond me.

Cool Hand James

Regarding the Bulger case - I was approximately his age in the UK at the time and have no contemporary insight. What it seems to me to highlight is how limited justice can truly be. How can we possibly institutionalise two 10 year olds for life for a crime they might not truly, physiologically and psychologically, be able to understand? Similarly, it might show how limited psychological analysis really is - Venablrs has been deemed fit for release yet seems to show the same psychopathic, and now paedophilic, tendencies he did as a boy. Utterly winless situation.

The first interrogator could have used more professional fines but the truth is the husband was alone with the child and the child died of blunt force trauma and this woman is just as guilty as the husband because this didn't happen in a vacuum. He was escalating his abusiveness and she knew that and lived in denial just like she is in that interview. At some point feelings be damned because the truth MUST take precedence. That 15 month old life was cut short and the killer needs to be taken off the street for the sake of ALL OF US. But the mother is like so many mothers who look the other way because she doesn't want to be alone and now he's KILLED her only child and instead of seeking justice for her baby daughter she's angry because she doesn't want to see the picture!!! If somebody did something to my kid the biggest danger and threat would be what I would do to the man who did it - husband included...because some time you have to go to sleep and I can wait. And I would be more than happy to help with the investigation in any way possible. Venables would be better off with a bullet. Violent Pedo's never rehabilitate. He had a chance to prove it was a youthful mistake and he blew it. He needs to be put down before he kills someone else. Hopefully the other kid doesn't go the same way.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is CHOMO?

Cool Hand James

I had to pause exactly 12 minutes in to comment just how impressed I am with the wife’s dealing with the police. It may strike some as abhorrent, that she won’t lie or deceive her husband in order to get him to admit anything regarding the baby’s fate but different people hold different principles and she believed that under no circumstance, she would lie to her spouse. We’d all be lucky to have a partner in life that believes in something such as that. Not saying everyone will agree and find her decision moral but again, different people, different beliefs. Edit: just wanted to add, how many of you love your child more than you love your spouse? Or love your husband/wife more than the child the two of you created together? It’s an unfair question and I’d expect the answer would be “the same amount”. I remember asking my dad when I was a kid, who he loved more, me or mom and if I remember correctly, he said, “I love you both the same”. After pressing him for a choice, he said “mommy”.

Heavy AF! .... Great work again JCS

JCS did cover Slenderman case briedly in "The Insanity Defense", one of their earlier videos. Would love to see a deep dive on it though.

iVe PrEsEnTeD eXpErTs xD

re: your end point about two disturbed individuals' incidental meeting and influence on each other creating the motivation to commit a crime together- it made me think of Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weyer. It would be amazing if JCS covered the Slenderman stabbings!

If you watch the video with Stephanie Lazarus, you can see that even trained police officers can't beat the system. It's easy to analyze and learn all the tricks by watching interviews from the safety of your home through a screen, but when you're face to face with a confrontation it's much more difficult to apply what you know.

Hime Takamura

JCS back at their best. Great narrative and analysis throughout. First interview was fascinating, so much sympathy for the mother and thought that she held herself together so well and was appropriately forthright. The interviewer was dreadfully, dreadfully inept, aggressive, and at times downright cruel. An empathetic and emotional 'interrogation' would surely have made so much more sense, and have been the more humane tactic.

Venables is violent CHOMO piece of shit that should just be put down. There's no cure for that behavior, and he's proving he'll never stop.

Sort of surprised those kids didn't got lynched by parents.

$10 a mo is my max

Mike Joe

you're late! ;) I've been checking for days...glad to see this, thanks!

Mike Joe

Also, I'm from Liverpool. I was born in '93 and still vividly remember my family having 'Justice for James' stickers on their cars when I was growing up. I went to college in Bootle and went for lunch in the Strand every single day for two years. The place hardly changed, so it still looked eerily similar to the CCTV footage from the 90's. The effect this case has had on our city is still huge, even today.

James suffered sexual assault as well (not mentioned in the video and too sickening to describe here). It is mind baffling to know that a 10 year child has tortured and killed another. They’re both psychopaths and show no emotions towards their victim except when he thinks that he’s the only one who is being blamed

It's also worth noting that Venables has made countless efforts to violate his anonymity. Each time, being awarded a new identity at the cost of millions to tax payers. He's not supposed to enter Liverpool at all, yet has been known to frequently and purposely visit pubs and places within Liverpool, specifically places where he knows he could run into Bulger's family. He has also *proudly* revealed his true identity on multiple occasions. Completely remorseless and intent on prolonging the suffering of Denise and her family. There are people currently serving time in prison for sharing pictures of Venables online, yet he - the child-murdering pedophile - is still being graced with anonymity. It blows my mind.

holy fuck the first woman is insufferable

TizMcFitz

Whenever I hear or read anything about the murder of James Bulger I am always reminded of Mary Bell. Mary Bell killed her first victim, a 4 year old boy, the day before her 11th birthday. I would love to see a JCS analysis of her.

i can’t believe venables still gets anonymity. He grew into a peadophile

Affirmative action detective. Not commenting on anyone's guilt or innocence.

Also pronuncing the last name of James Bulger right, it had even been said in the video before.

Iridescent Pigsie

thanks for your awesome videos mate

bull-jer

Anyone have the link to the Vimeo videos?

Yes!!!

Jim he’s called James Bulger. Here in the north west of England it’s pronounced

DETECTIVE LADY IF YOU ARE BLACK AND WHITE YOU SHOULD NOT BE ANYWHERE NEAR A LEGAL CASE

It takes a village to raise a child

The parents of Thompson and Venables should have been held 100% responsible. Also the fact that Venables is still being protected by UK police is the height of absurdity.

It's too bad you feel the need to bash people's religious beliefs. Maybe you should go back to focusing on loving yourself instead of hating on others.

Thanks for another wonderful video Jim & team! Pretty hard to watch that first interrogation - so aggravating. Very sad second story.

I missed the analysis part on this one I'm afraid.

i cannot believe that wretch had the nerve to suggest the mom didn’t “really” love her daughter. despicable.

No, and let’s hope he never is. Apparently there is a photo of him as an adult circling . It is illegal in the uk for news agency’s and uk we’d sites to broadcast the photo. Andrew Garfield starred in a Chanel 4 drama playing an adult trying to live his life after committing a similar crime. It was very moving.

unreal! I can't fucking stand her lol

Mir Berthelot

I am just on the fence about that first lady! Out of all your police interrogation videos, she is the only one who is SO chill and speaks so intelligently. I kinda think she's part of it? But at the same time finding out she has no family and stuff, makes sense that she's sticking with her husband.... I'm so conflicted.

Mir Berthelot

That poor boy.. That made me tear up.. i can’t imagine the horror that little angel had to go through.. and the piece of shit who did it is still out there watching child abuse videos and searching for new victims, while the state protects him. Disgusting!!!

Man, the woman in the first interrogation has a lot more patience than I would in that situation. If someone thrust a picture of someone I love horribly mutilated into my face and told me I didn't love them, I'd probably throw punches. The fact that she sat there and suffered through that abuse without even walking out is frankly astonishing. I hope she's doing okay.

Jerry

Fml, the James Bulger case just breaks me... I feel so bad for his mum, blaming herself for letting go of his hand for just a second. The only consolation I can think of (and it's barely even a consolation at all), is that James, probably, indirectly saved another child from suffering his fate, and he took their place. R.i.p, little guy. <3

❤️

damn...those kids....ayayayayyy...

Dénes Lázár

Literally squealed with excitement in Walmart when I got the notification. Thank yooooyyyyy

Samantha White

Anyone else slightly worried this series teaching people how to manipulate the system? He breaks it down so well. Also those two detectives at the start were dreadful. They don't deserve to still have jobs.

Cool Hand James

Bulger is pronounced Buljer. Jer as in jam not ger as in get. Hope this is of help.

The James Bulger murder is one of those cases where it seems entirely impossible to determine where fault lies, what an appropriate punishment is, or how best to deal with perpetrators like these. One one hand, their actions were beyond the pale; on the other, they were ten. Can they really be held accountable? If not, how do we account for the brutality of their actions?

Man. That first interrogator made me so irrationally angry. Hope she used it as a learning experience to do better in the future.

In all my years and research into criminal cases this is the closest i came to crying, just that last line with the detective felt like someone ripping into my chest

Edgar

Thank you for this. I remember the case so well. That poor boy and his mother who will never forgive herself. I wish that they had met a similar punishment from some older boys in their detention centre.

The James Bulger story is so famous in the UK. Every single person knows who he is and the two boys who killed him. It's incredibly famous. I'd never heard the interviews though - that was chilling.

Jess Harris

Does anyone know if the boy that grew up and is still racking up prison time has been named yet? Ridiculous isn’t it?

It's too bad Christiane doesn't apply her skepticism skills with her religion.

Sunshine Sherpa

The 2nd story is why I now don't cast judgement, or giggle at parents who use those leash type things. That could have very well saved that poor boy and many, many others.

Great video!

Minor nitpick, but in the liverpool case it would have been nice to use "mum" instead of "mom", since you tend to transcribe exactly what is being said.

Xirix

that first investigator is nothing more than walking living sewer residue

Is there a way I can watch these videos on vimeo? I pay for the patreon but I want to watch on my roku TV while I use my computer and tablet. Since there's no patreon app I tried watching through vimeo anticipating needing to type in a password but it says you have no videos uploaded :( I'll somehow manage in the meantime watching on my tablet. Thanks for the amazing videos!! In another life I was supposed to be a psychlogist or a true crime detective so instead I live vicariously through your videos as I study to be a nurse practitioner 😂

This interrogator makes me angry, oof

I always look forward to a new upload Jim! Being from the UK and seeing that you've opted for the 'Bulger' case is very exciting. Cheers for the work!

The mother in the first case- I've never seen someone absolutely destroy the investigators like her. Wow.

MSau

the first interview is infuriating

Jordan Genetti
