The Interrogation of Steven J. Williams

Comments

35 years is one hell of a deal for this dude. IDK why he's suicidal, he got a better deal than 99% of killers have ever been offered

Jacob Houser

I’m not done with the video yet but it’s insane this cop is just rapid firing shit for over ten minutes now and not letting the suspect even say anything

Mx 6

Man thats good detective work. Dude put the full court press on him for an hour

Andrew

God dayum- the Truth was far more brutal than just a slip... Shit.

"Seymour Johnson", lol

Other than OJ does anyone know who the other people shown in pictures in the beggining of the video are?

I'm legit amazed that the detective got a confession. It seemed like he was throwing every interrogation technique at the wall to see what sticks. I can't believe Steven didn't lawyer up immediately just to shut him up. Obviously, I'm glad Steven confessed (even though his story was complete B.S.).

Dead Heroes

Ohhhh how different his demeanor when taking them to the body. Wow. Cold.

Conclusion: Nothing is his fault 😂

Lol

I thought this dude was telling the truth. That was scary

“And I’m thinking ‘ah shit, what a jam!’”

WAH STEEYVUHN?

ee kay

The cop in this sucks so much

Go away with your dog whistles you cowardly white supremacist

Why Steeevuhn, why?

Have you heard any of the outtakes and gaffs from the script reading? They’re on JCS Twitter. Hilarious.

MourningDove

The true crime here is the pattern on those chairs.

Never believed the accident story, but did believe it was a passion crime: he hated her, they started arguing and he lost his temper and killed her. I believed he wanted the best for his kid... I’m so shock to find out he planned all this and purposely took her mum away from his daughter

Because you think you might kill your wife?

I love how all these suspects are always saying "no, idk what you're talking about. I had nothing to do with it." Then they bring up some clear evidence that shows their involvement and then they're always like "Oooh yea, well now that you mention it..." and then go on to tell some preposterous story that they incredibly found no reason to bring up initially. Truly entertaining

“what a jam!” sicko. i didn’t believe his accident cock and bull story cos jcs alluded to that but i’m shocked at how premeditated and cold blooded it was, felt like it would have been a crime of passion type thing

Ibk

Steven J Williams is the DEVIL he came to Florida to kill Tricia he had it all planned out he thinks he is smarter than all the detectives - he managed to get a plea deal before showing anyone where or what he had done to Tricia's body the detectives are hoping the Army will prosecute him now so that he remains in prison for the rest of his life...

Bradford Jane

I've seen most of JCS's videos now, and this was the first one where I totally bought his version of events. His description of events wasn't particularly clear, which is normally a sign they're making it up, but for some reason I can't place, I still believed him.

I don't know why but I don't really believe Steven J Williams did it.... intentionally like they said. I think he pushed her hard like he said.

idk if you took a freakin crazy pill on the way over here

u said perpetuator instead of perpetrator

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

,

this mf is so whiny!!

try the full screen button...

He did not hit her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1vx6PRFT5U

How do I full screen this shit player

Most annoying interrogation ever on all levels, tho video and audio quality is nice.

Trauma Punks

I watched this video first specifically because of your comment. I just stopped by to tell you that I agree with you. What a vile human being.

“You want your mom? I’m not gonna deny you that.” Oh except for the fact that I savagely murdered her and went to jail forever thus robbing you of both your parents for the rest of your life.

I've watched approximately one millionty interrogations at this point, and Steven J. Williams has to be one of the biggest, most annoying, pieces of shhh*t so far.

Just watched this video. Unreal! Very smart cop - absolute pro.

You should check out a video on Real World Police's Youtube channel, it's called "New Mexico Traffic Stop Turns Up 49 Pounds of Weed, 10 Pounds THC Wax". The officer in that video shows just how smart a good cop can be, and can go from no evidence, no probable cause, all the way to having probable cause and making a huge drug bust just based on a conversation. Like you said, they are very good at what they do.

This was a masterclass on exactly why you never talk to police, they are so good at what they do!!

Amanda Feliciano

Was the detective using the never shut up technique too? Jesus I found him so annoying! I would've lawyered up asap just to make him stop talking.

Polygraphs arent 100% accurate and are somewhat easy to pass if you know how. Being in the military theres a decent chance he's taken them before and depending on his job perhaps did so multiple times. If so he'd have a reason to be fairly acquainted with it

I sometimes think it takes a sociopath-like mind to be one. They have to shut off all their pre-conceived feelings and nerves just to "figure out" the person. It's amazing.

insanely cynical. he had me convinced at his first confession

I could never be an interrogator. I felt so bad for him and believed his story about her falling and him panicking. I'm such an idiot. What a monster.

It's interesting that the ego up and alternative story techniques work even in the case where the person truly was the worser version in the alternative story. I think it works because in that environment, the suspect can choose to lie and pick the nicer version of the story and in that moment come out as the good person the detective is trying to make them. The goal is to just get a confession, and hopefully that will at least give them a sentence and also open to door to more evidence that will help fill in what really happened

"and i started driving nowhere" How about the freakin hospital u murderer. He had intent to kill beforehand...

And this is why I'm single.

I've always thought that they made the deal to soon. I know they wanted to find Tricia and bring her home. But later on they could have used the death penalty as leverage. I believe in the USA they count on confessions to much. And not enough "normal" police investigation.

I think he is Canadian don’t quote me or from a New England state

Never relax

Dude you're so cool

ME: "I know all of the interrogation techniques. I'll take a lawyer. Now."

Man even passed a lie detector... should’ve been an actor instead of a murderer

Give the guy a chance to confess would ya

I'd confess to murder just so this detective would shut the hell up. My god stop talking

Dustin

The entire time that man had nothing but time to think while the detective threw him ideas until he made an idea work. They believed his story which is why they agreed to do a plea deal in exchange for her body. 30 years for what he did to her is a slap on his wrist. Omg that dude is a monster!

Mark Robertson

His entire thing seemed like BS to me. As soon as he had an opening he took it. What I heard was "I can't say she attacked me, they will say how could i have been attacked when I am so much stronger? I have already thought this out. I cannot admit this right away. I need to appear to be stressed" he reminds me of a kid who got caught stealing from another kids backpack, so in order to garner pity he needs to appear stressed, confused, resentful, and cry. Full of S lock him up throw out the key people like this always do it again.

I am no expert, But the detective seems to be coming on way to strong and has what seems to be a lot of energy with wanting to rush to the confession and is passionate about getting a confession. I think he genuinely wants to help, I get like this when I do reptile shows and am educating people I sort of am thinking about the ending instead of being in the moment and I rush through everything.

I believed this fucker and i think the cop did too

Ngl his crocodile tears sold me out, 35 years are missing an extra 0 or two.

damn he got me good with his little "confession".

Wow

truly insane how he managed to dress his self pity up as being sorry for a tragic accident

Wow so pretty much entire story of them having a heated argument was bullshit. Entire thing was premeditated and he started choking her right after he entered the house. What an actor.

Wojciech Tolsdorf

His middle name is Isaiah

It's interesting to me that it came out that there was premeditation to kill his wife, in a big way. Yet in the interrogation where he starts to accept a tiny bit of responsibility, he is still trying to make it look like he barely did anything. That is why these videos JCS puts out are so interesting to me. The conditions in which people will go to any length to deceive but not accept what is coming to them caught on video. Pretty amazing stuff to study and try to understand.

crazy thing, is these killers are more often than not, just nerds, with serious mental problems. Crazy shit, watch out girls

Oh wow, that ending changed everything.

Did you.... not listen to the video at all?

should have gotten life. sick man, and a coward.

Helena

Legend says that detective is still asking questions. Shut up, let the other guy speak

But I never understand why they do these things. Why Why Why

You have a good perspective though.

Crafty Criminalist

Just an example of what he is talking about.

MsGhost87

and that's the irony of it lol. The emotion they are trying to say they had is actually what the victim had.

The murderer often says, 'I just panicked', but surely the victim was panicking a lot more!

Why is there a picture of Marat in the opening sequence?

Thanks

Putting that marker down...like putting a flower on a grave.

Wow. That’s all I have to say.

sad to see fellow veterans like this end up in these situations!

i did not think he sounded genuine at all. also 35 is not enough. freaking nuts

The narrator has sort of charming pronunciations. "Cordial" as "core-dee-al", including the R in "dossier."

I think most of them are too cheap to pay for one and think they are smart enough to talk their way out of it. Which Detectives know is talk their way into a conviction.

12:40: "Are you going to, like, chop her up into little bits? I don't think so." Ohhhhh boy, is he in for one...

OMG he buried her near the portal to the Black Lodge in Twin Peaks! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EEJidUbXoAAjfcq.jpg Its also amazing that all these suspects do not take a lawyer, a lawyer would clearly see through The Dossier technique.

https://youtu.be/Gsij7oYUMyM Great back story on this case.

ditto!

man, i completely fell for it. The detective did an amazing job - so many times while watching it i was second guessing him cuz it seemed almost sloppy, but in reality he knew what was going on and what would work and finally did get the confession, even if it was very different than what actually turned out to be the truth. Genuinely amazed by his technique, and super creeped that Steven J Williams had me around his finger with his act.

Toll paid.

I was buying it too

It feels like you really need to have a rock-bottom and unshakably cynical view of human nature to be good at this. I was actually buying the story that this was an argument that got out of hand. Clearly can't read people in the least.

If you haven't already, watch part 14. The last case in that video has an investigator that messed up big time.

Could we get a video where the investigator fucks up in some way? Either by showing bias or where the suspect was wrongfully cleared of suspension (and we found out later)

20:15 “I didn’t come here with a murder plan. I didn’t come down here with some dubious plan”

12:45 when the detective utilizes “The Alternative Question” method, he pretty much listed everything he actually did. -don’t want people to think you’re this premeditated murderer psychopath -not like you drove her to this secluded area so no one would find the body -don’t want people to think you chopped her up the pieces and dumped her in a pre-dug grave -you didn’t dump her body in acid -you’re not a monster, you didn’t plan this. You drive all the way down here and with the intent to hurt her. He was right on the money.

"I wouldn't be in here if I didn't think you were a good guy." Wow, excellent ego up technique. An interrogator would be present, regardless of "Thinking someone is a good guy," which clearly he didn't think, anyway.

This channel is so fricking interesting. I've been binging watching these all day. This is the best damn dollar I've ever spent. I honestly felt bad for him when he was balling in the interrogation room. The minute I heard that he took a deal to locate her remains I immediately said out loud, you piece of shit. My husband thought I was talking to him cause I'm wearing headphones 🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh, man. That final shot of him with that smirk on his face creeped me the hell out. Yikes.

catbyte

Where was the kid?

Definitely nuts that 2 seconds of video is what made all the difference.

For sure for sure this one is the creepiest guy I’ve seen and he beat the polygraph what a psychopath if there ever were one can’t believe that split second video is how they caught it.

Did you hear the part at the end? he strangled her with a skipping rope that he bough specifically with him to her house to kill her. He them cut her up with a saw purchased a while earlier... premeditated. If it was an accident he would have given up the body earlier. But he knew the evidence pointed to premeditated murder. He was saving himself

it's kinda terrifying

Jack Hazardous

When they start to confess... It's like watching a flower bloom.

Voyeur

This detective is just incredible, he way he manipulates the guys emotions, keeping him panicked and scared whilst offering him a life line. Wow

ooh ooh mr dobalina.

Soooo... why did the jury not convict him the firs time around? He confessed.. what was the problem??

yeah, the nypd is kinda notorious for its racist behavior and cover up conspiracies, but im black and I can clearly see that he did that shit. not everything is a conspiracy against black people. he killed and raped this innocent girl.

Disgusting animalistic waste of carbon, can barely speak, freak bog eyed looking mess of a formation of atoms, hope he rots and suffers for the rest of his useless life.

I wish I could reach out and hug those poor parents. These wretched vermin slither on the streets and the crimes they commit against peaceful natured citizens is impossible to compute. That's why the strongest people have to carry the heaviest burden. The victims and their families carry that weight for all of us.

What guppy-mouthed mo-fo! 'Someone was playing loud music,' so instead of having a go at that guy, you went to the park to attack, rape, and kill a woman out for a jog? What the actual f**k!

I really don t understand this thing where people say he was instructed during the interrogation. He is spending life in prison. Are you saying he chose to appear guilty while being innocent? If so, why? how? i cannot find a reasonable answer to this question

True evil!

The start of the video had me thinking this was gonna be about her torment with good and evil, self harm and that she possibly committed some heinous crime as a result of her dark and lustful side taking over. But geez, that wasn’t at all what this was about :O

Just subbed and decided to watch this video first. Had no context of the crime. Was not familiar with the case at all. Karina seems like she was a nice and smart girl but when this video opened with her frankly very bad poetry and overly edgy video filmed like an unsolved mysteries reenactment I was on the verge of immediately cancelling my patreon. Lol then the narrator started talking and I was like, “Oh okay. Now I get it.”

💯

dna is dna..? lol i dont understand how some of u could possibly excuse this kid's actions due to disengagement. ever thought he just doesnt give a fuck and its why he's obviously spending the rest of his life incarcerated? his dna was found under the girl's fingernails for fucks sake, AND her private areas. yall trippen.

Late to the party but just became a patron. Without knowing anything about the case except this video, I am considering the fact that this man was said to be suffering from depression prior to his arrest. His attitude seemed as though he had resigned himself to his fate and was usual yes but depressively apathetic about the entire process. I’m wondering if he had had enough of his life.. and committed a crime he knew he would be given a harsh prison sentence for knowing there was a chance due to his circumstances he thought he may never have happiness in life and would rather release the responsibility of existence. I also wonder if since they started his prescription of antidepressants after his arrest this is what led to his not guilty plea, after balancing the chemicals causing this depression and realising what he had done. Here’s my novel lmao

Grieving shows itself in all types of ways, judging the mother for not crying is shallow. Some people don't cry but instead try and streamline that pain into something to avoid it, funeral planning, seeking justice, partying etc.

Yes and they extracted his DNA and put it on her phone and her genitals and also the moonlanding is fake and the government is poisening us with chemicals!!!!11

I don’t think he was led in the interrogation. I think there were instances when he was given options like “did you grab her by her neck, shoulders, arms?” But it comes across to me like they’re giving him examples to choose from because when they asked specifically what happened or how something transpired he seemed to not understand what they were asking and gave more vague answers. I mean I’m one of the first people to be suspicious of police practices and give so much doubt when it comes to what is being shared but he knew a ton of info and details about the injuries she would have had. The part where he apologizes in the interrogation didn’t come off to me like he was supposed to say one thing as if he was coached or led but more like he initially misunderstood what they were asking and once he realized his mistake corrected his response.

This is like watching Brandon Dassey's interrogation. They found a simple-minded boy without any conception of his precarious position, and feed him 95% of the incriminating information, just for him to nod yes or no. Disgusting.

bullshit its completely obvious he was trained in the interrogation. He even apologizes when he describes events.. they even push him into giving details about grabbing her neck when he says shoulders

You can clearly see this mother’s pain and anger, she’s drugged up obviously but she couldn’t cope if she wasn’t.

The black dude every question asked of him he looks over at the other dude before answering seems real bizarre...

his neighbors were playing music

TinyMeowMix

She's gorgeous duck-face and all. Weird statement, makes me think you're ugly tbh. Prolly don't have to worry about being raped and killed. Lucky you

She ain’t making it intentionally as it looks like she inherited her mother’s teeth/jaw structure.

Matt

Im a chick so maybe thats why I can totally see she's a very attractive girl but she's making a goofy af face. I dont understand why beautiful girls feel the need to make such a ridiculous face. It doesnt make them prettier, it looks like an infants face when theyre taking a dump.

child of cascadia

It's unreasonable to believe in a god?

Wtf bro she’s beautiful. I didn’t notice it till you said it

Your embarrassed for someone else ? Lol

Lol

EMTs and ER docs often jokingly say "make sure you always wear clean underwear, you never know when youre going to end up in the ER and everyones gonna see your stained drawers". Id add "Never do duck lips in photos - you never know if thats gonna be the last known photo of you that gets handed out all over as people are searching for you."

child of cascadia

What was the prior incident Lewis was talking about? Someone playing loud music? Did it have something to do with Karina? Was he casing that park for her specifically?

NYC jury of the defendant's peers. All you need is one idiot to buy into the conspiracy theories about him.

That accent is so embarrassing.

features creatures

why was there a mistrial given all the physical evidence and a confession?

I really appreciate that at the end of these I feel like i know the victim more than the perpetrator. Thank you for the really great work.

Always a good moment when the judge refers to God when he states his beliefs about the crime and the perpetrator. That's the type of evidence based logical reasoning we're looking for. Good on ya, judge, you're a champion.

This one broke my heart. Her family was absolutely devastated, and their pain was palpable. How somebody could walk among us and be such a monster inside is beyond imagination.

damn. made me cry. the eloquence of her family makes it clear what was lost in that moment

This detective sounds like he is leading the witness a little bit. He would repeat the question if he didn't get the right answer and he lead with the correct answer first. This is what I noticed. Not to say he wasn't guilty.

Say someone does believe your sourceless accusation is it that farfetched that someone would think a black dude in America was being setup? Like yeah it’s a stupid thought under the circumstances but it’s a real thing that does happen it’s like when a wife gets killed you look at the husband a little no matter what. End of the day you can’t honestly tell yourself you believe this dude was ever gonna go free.

Chad Beezy

Lol at the people in the comments acting like this was a close call for justice or something. I don’t even think there’s an alternate reality in existence where this dude got away with this. Shoutout to Keith in the comments for spreading negativity.

Chad Beezy

Fuck this mumbling shithead

Video in restricted mode?

15k now man keep up your videos we fucking love them

Its an interview, not an interrogation.

Meth seems to be a yank drug

Stay away from meth kids.

I've been on a date in that park o_o

Amazingly beautiful girl, and what a piece of shit this devil is.

I don’t understand this interrogation... at all.

Dont like your conscious being convicted eh?

american news really is terrible, it's more like saturday night live than actual news.

It's always frustrating to to hear a judge proclaim their religious beliefs when imposing sentence.

Cid

How? How does anybody defend a jury system? I don't get it.

Well it shouldn't matter but due to the nature of the comments, I will share that I black and am watching this with my black daughter and grandson who all contend that he is guilty.

So the fact she had his DNA under her nails and he gave a detailed confession giving information only the killer would know, isn't enough for you??? By any chance are you a person of colour?? Not being rude just asking

So for those wondering how in hell was there a hung jury??? 2 jurors were black and deemed DNA and a confession not enough evidence.. messed up

Yeah I didn't understand that either. He confessed to the crime at interrogation but they end up with a hung jury? WTF

Obviously terrible and a horrible crime. It is strange, in watching all of these videos, that the only crimes that get national attention are when the victim and / or suspects are conventionally attractive. People seem to get very passionate about them, one way or the other, while the "Jeffs" of the world go unnoticed.

I'm crying throughout this whole video. My soul hurts to much. The anguish her family feels is heartbreaking. I can't even begin to imagine their loss.

The conspiracy theories some people came up with are ridiculous.

Still so crazy. Happened right where I live at.

I think without their faith, they would have no crutch. It is very distressing to view this and I do not believe in their god nor share their beliefs in eternal torture etc. - so, for me, we need justice in the here & now, not based around fiction & fairy tales. I am not sure that simply locking up a character like this, is worthwhile, as it gives him a chance to put some kind of life together. I don't know, but the trauma is clear. Dreadful.

Oh man I’m going to need some captions to understand what mushmouth is saying in the interview.

Jackie

Sup, new patron here, great content as always Jim!

yep, this is how we can tell the father didn't do it. no man could right a speech like that and show that kind of convincing emotion if he was guilty and trying to frame someone else. we would have seen duper's delight up the wazoo lol

i dont understand why people say she was "detchaed" either... she was clearly enraged. you could see that even through all the medications she was clearly on. she wanted the guy caught. she seemed very impassioned to me. i guess people just dont understand emotion? they think that unless ssomeone is crying its not "true grief"? silly. there are many ways to express grief and i saw that in all her speeches.

the father is absolutely right. he was a serial killer in the making. his searches for violent pornography prove this (just like Ted Bundy). you can tell by the smug look on the guy's face that he was 100% guilty and fully cognizant of what he was doing. he just hated women. and no one wants to talk about this. just his race.

if he truly means it. you can't ask for forgiveness if you expect to get a benefit out of it. you have to show true remorse. i dont believe in god but even i know this basic tenant of christianity.

That’s exactly what I thought and the Judge’s words proved it when he addressed his “followers”. The fact that anyone would judge a complete lack of emotions to presume innocence considering how many times serial predators have been documented to act the same way is beyond me. Unfortunately, like the Kate Steinle case, a lot of ignorant people put politics & skin color above justice.

I of course understand the grief and don't want to be an asshole...but counting on God's judgment is so weird for me, like do those people know that according to the Bible this guy can just ask for forgiveness in his last hours and give himself to Jesus and he will be forgiven?

How much you want to bet it was one juror that turned it into a race issue

I don’t think he did it. It seems all too sketch. The dad couldn’t jog that day, then warns his daughter, some random black kid who is on medication (easy to manipulate) randomly just kills her? The dad has connections with the NYPD also. Just seems extremely sketchy.

Shame on that first jury.

Is this a joke comment? The dude is clearly guilty. I have yet to hear a convincing story as to why he is not guilty other than "he is black and was having sex with her and her Dad found out and is a racist so he killed him" type racist conspiratorial nonsense. So much DNA evidence links to him and he said numerous details only the police knew at that point.

@NathanMiller A "confession" months and months later, after the cops couldn't find the guy WITNESSES saw lurking around at the EXACT time (wait for it) wearing a stocking cap on a hot August day. Which is why the creep stood out. I don't like this one.

A confession and dna? What more do you need?

Now that you're doing Patreon, it'd be really appreciated if you guys could do some good subtitles throughout these videos. It's almost impossible to understand this guy...When they ask what colour his sweatpants were, the captioned answer is "a big duck". Hmm...

Bethany

Thanks Jim. I can’t believe you haven’t hit 10k earlier. These are my favorite videos. I’ll pay $10 every month for life if you just keep doing what you’re doing❤️😊👏👏

WTLiteralF is going on here????? OMG if ever there was a clear cut case it's this one are you kidding me right now???? Was this effing jury from the damn rodeo clown school or what??? Thank God for second verdict!

These freaking conspiracy creators are unbelievable. This mother seems a strong and tough newyorker woman. To think all police are dna dropping cheats is ridiculous. From Chris Watts to this case people seem to know facts when they have watched some late night news and articles. Black guy gets arrested and the parents do not react in a way that these conspiracy fuckers expect of them. And the shit thing is that other people will follow them in these things because they search for corruption and conspiracy`s everywhere they can see.

Paul Wevers

I feel the same too. I started crying when they found her body too because this happens to too many women. We can't just live our lives without the fear of some man wanting to take from us. Whether it be our body or life.

I had to stop for a min to catch my breath and whip my tears after hearing that her father found her the way he did. I can’t understand how as a young woman going for a run alone can cause the end of your life. Why no matter how much she put up a fight it still wasn’t enough simply because she was just to small . No one deserves this and the fear this reminds me I have to feel as a woman only a few years older then her is sometimes paralyzing.

Still watching... But it seems to me her parents had the anger to focus on, and channel their grief into. I'm sure now that he's caught... I don't know if the case is over and I can't remember what happened, but I'm sure it's a little different now that I'm guessing everything is done and over with.

Em22

An interesting case considering a hung jury. Why?. Given her first time running alone without her father I would consider her level of awareness to be heightened given she was running towards the perpetrator as well. She is also more athletic than the perp in comparison. Its a weird and cruel irony that she was murdered when she was not accompanied by her father, which is their usual activity. He did confess but it felt coached and somewhat circumstantial. He looks like a person with FASD which affects the frontal lobe of the brain including rational thinking lack of impulse control and assessment of their behaviour. Irrespective it s a closed case. I am disgusted for her loss of life in such horrific circumstances. Its horrific all round.

Very articulate and beautiful family. Although I don't believe in heaven nor hell, I do believe that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but changed. This POS that murdered that beautiful woman and in essence her family, his energy will be in so much torment, and that helps me sleep at night.

Love the content Jim! Do you take recommendations for cases?

Jason wolfe

Excited!!

2 new episodes coming tomorrow 4pm ET x

I’m the same, it hits me later. My daughter had a seizure, and then another one in the hospital, all the doctors were commenting on how calm I was and that it helped them that I wasn’t being frantic. I was frantic, but I knew what I had to do and that she needed me to be calm too. When she was better and let out of hospital I was a mess, thinking of all the what ifs and I couldn’t hug her enough because I was so glad she was okay and thinking I could have lost her. Everyone remarked on it though.

I have no idea how the jury was hung in the first trial, that was insane to see. What a horrible situation.

Either as below or he got Athlete's Foot.

I don't tend to show emotion during crisis. I mean, it depends, but my knee jerk reaction is frequently very stoic whether I'm aware of it or not. My boss commented on it when we had an emergency and I apparently very calmly and matter of factly told her someone had a bad accident, was unresponsive, and needed emergency assistance. Internally, I was actually frantic that time. I work in healthcare and deal with deaths and emergency situations a lot and a lot of times my emotions suspend and I am as calm as I seem. It hits later when I'm alone. In my personal life I have gotten similar feedback in extreme situations that I get emotionless. Even when recounting them.

Hey thanks for the great story. Some feedback that’s purely my own opinion and I’m sure others will disagree, but I would prefer to have cool visualizations with narration added instead of the dramatic cold opening.

I'm kind of late to the party here, but I wanted to make a note on the mother's "detached" behavior. I'm in the medical field and studied biochemistry for 6 years, and nursing for 2. I agree that the mother is most likely on a sedative due to the severe emotional trauma she is obviously facing. The physician would've likely prescribed an antidepressant along with a short term sedative like alprazolam (Xanax), diazepam (Valium), or clonazepam (Klonopin), which would explain her behavior, especially her slow, interrupted speech pattern, slow reflexes, and impaired cognition. Even though her child was just killed, the medication WILL have an effect. People can really underestimate the power of pharmaceuticals and/or grief.

Last podcast on the left do a good Israel Keyes breakdown.

Jim! Thank you. I asked for a high profile case and you delivered. Loved it, however i do echo my fellow patreons... something was missing. We're an ungrateful bunch arent we but i signed up to the channel because i really love the psychology behind crime and interrogation and that was missing this time. I wont stop subscribing as your videos are far superior to anything else out there.... please dont wander away from what youre good at. Xxx Ps.. please do more death row stuff. We dont have capital punishment here in the uk and i think i speak for the majority when i say, from a philosophic point of view- its a fascinating subject. Xxx love always xx

Oh finally someone who recognizes that! The whole thing was making me so cringe. I understand from her parent's perspective they were proud of her but c'mon.. filling half the episode with victim impact statements was way too much. To me she comes across as the typical entitled, judgemental, arrogant, narcissistic, condescending, attention seeking type of chick that posts all day on social media for the likes

she even had a phone... this is why I never walk alone, even a skinny guy like this is so much stronger than even a fit woman, such a shame her life ended so abruptly

wow. those sentencing speeches brought me to tears. the utterly cruel violation of her life and body is incomprehensible. she sounded like an absolutely wonderful human being - thoughtful, kind, and complex. i can’t even begin to understand the pain her family experienced.

James isn't able to swim because of a traumatic episode which occurred during his first lesson. Upon diving into a local river with his junior swim club, he discovered the body of a 76 year old rape victim, who had been shot ten times, strangled, poisoned, and stabbed eight times with a butcher knife. Being unable to determine the exact cause of death stopped young James' ambitions to swim dead in their tracks, and instead from that very young age of two he transformed into "Jim" and has been learning about all aspects of both human and criminal psychology in both adults and children, involving all sexes and genders, becoming a deeply learned expert in criminal investigation and procedure, as well as becoming so adept at the ins-and-outs of criminal interrogation that they named a famous burger chain after it. "In-And-Outs Of Criminal Interrogation Burger" proved to be a long and confusing name, so they shortened it. Who has the time or inclination to learn how to swim in light of that information? It has to make a person wonder about people who *do* know how to swim... What exactly are they up to? How many people has Michael Phelps raped and murdered, for instance?*** ***Probably zero

why can't jim swim?

I know you have a list of requests but thought I would throw my hat in the ring. Robert Pickton . He got away with it for so long because of the Canadian police and people in power had lack of empathy of his victims (mostly first nations and down town east side women) He had people that knew he was doing this but they were under his control. Heck we are not even sure it was him but he may be taking the fall for someone else!

Hey Jim. Satisfied supporter of your work here. I echo the sentiment of my fellow supporters. I really enjoy your interrogation analytics and felt that this was a little bit light on that. The background on the cases are always excellent and we need them for sure as a lead up. And a little bit on the family is great too. Overall great job. Rock on Jim ... only one thing left to say "Stay out of the Pool!"

Tracy Lea Oh

yeah it is kind of nice that man who follow his passion earn money . he is happy, we are happy . Capitalism works (:

Jim, when is the Bundy case coming out? I thought you said there would be 2 releases this prior Wednesday, there was only this one.

Micah Hess

Hey if Jim past 10k monthly subs that’s 120,000 a year if each sub is only giving 1$ congratulations on making more than I have in the past 4 years Jim, you deserve it.

You give the best content! Love from Sweden

Loved the video Jim, but I feel like a major part of the interrogation was left out. I don't have an opinion on his guilt and you made some really great points about the information he knew. I however have two main issues with this interrogation. Firstly, the NY detectives didn't record the full interrogation so we don't know what was said to him in the 6 or so hours before they hit record. And finally the last minute and a half of the interrogation really demonstrated to me that he didn't have a clear understanding of his situation. In that last minute he asked if the person questioning him was his lawyer, and secondly he thought that the next step was restitution or some sort of program/class. To me that would seem to demonstrate that he didn't fully understand the situation or possibly his rights. Put the lack of a full interview and his lack of understanding, I feel an unease that he wasn't handled better by the NY DA and investigators guilt or not.

Another criminal bites the dust :)

We still dont know why the jury was hung with a mistrial the first time..

His demeanor..almost seemed as if..*forbid* but that his family was offered 20mil in exchange for his life, and it was all just short term memorization and guidance throughout the interrogation. Everything about it felt off, from him asking the interrogators to repeat their question, followed by his almost instinctual answer..at least..I can say, I've never seen it quite displayed in his mannerisms before. The whole thing seemed staged to me but that's only one person's perspective.

Murder isn't right, but wow that girl seemed like a real pain in the ass. Egotistical cringe.

Still excellent but prob my least favorite one so far. The search and rescue protocol was fascinating though, and pointing out the mom was on meds is an excellent point. RIP Karina.

I love almost all of your content but have to say this was a very weak "episode". all my respects to the terrible loss of this woman aside, it was bereft of any real analysis or tension. also something that I can't shake off is that officer's tone during the initial questioning, felt very odd.

Everytime a new video comes out, and longer than 45 mins I'm so stoked. I love the content! Keep it coming!! Can't get enough

Further proof that some of the dumbest people on earth are in the jury pool (first trial).

ALWAYS carry a knife.

I am a runner like Karina was and really appreciated the mother during her victim impact statement. Mom reading Karina's poem about her connection with nature and love of running was special. To be honest this is heart breaking- I have spent thousands of hours of my life running and I always worry about some whacko trying to get me. Chanel (named after coco Chanel?) is so freaking ugly and scarey looking-sorry. Karina was GORGEOUS. Beauty met a real BEAST and this story is truly haunting. Rest in PEACE sweet Angel I will personally never forget you.

I do honestly hate how judgmental people are about handling death through media/internet, especially since im a person that has kind of a cold reaction to it, I've been judged pretty harshly. They never see behind the closed doors, usually the dramatic Oscar types are the ones that are completely fine without cameras, but then there's people like me when alone they're an absolute wreck. Just voicing my frustration over the people that pick at shit like that though. Great job as always, great watch.

This one made me cry my eyes out. Good work!

good work jim

Great job again, Jim. You deserve all your subscribers, patrons, views and success because you consistently work hard and deliver high-quality content. Thank you for doing your best. It's greatly appreciated!

You're kind of an a-hole. She loses her daughter to a rapist and murderer and your primary concern and only comment is about her likely being prescribed psych meds to keep her from killing herself? I would certainly hope people would grant you and your family the empathy that you aren't extending her, God forbid, if you underwent a similar situation.

I am also 4'11". I am so sick of health and fitness "experts" who suggest women need to be out walking/running by themselves. It's not safe. If running's your sport, use a treadmill if you can't find a partner. A little woman in skin tight garb who's running activates the predator in wolfish humans, just as it does in four-legged animals. And I love the mom! I could listen to her forever, she's a power! It took me a while to realize where I'd heard the name Howard Beach. That first trial might be of more interest. And this criminal's of interest. The doctors can't figure him out...

Another mesmerizing hour of deep content and great analysis - I love your work.

I envy your discovering and binge-watching Swim's videos for the first time. What a door you have opened.

He was so eager to explain his motives in those early exchanges....

Fuck that evil piece of shit. I’m glad he will rot in prison for the rest of his life.

My name is ''Yasin''. And maybe you are too emotionally invested in this, all I left was some critical feedback which will undoubtedly be taken to heart to create further improved content in the future.

Can someone help me understand how the fuck the first trial was a held-case mistrial?? With that confession and DNA evidence to support... HOW THE FUCK do you not come to an unanimous decision

The only thing I'm lacking from this is how the jury was hung at any point after the confession tape? I wish that was described more because it felt as if the story was only being told from one direction. I absolutely believe he was the killer here, but at one point there were people that didn't. Great content as always, and the consistent breakdowns always help as I'm an undergraduate in criminal justice.

Thank u for making great content Jim!

Amazing as always!!!

People are morons, moreso since the creation of "body manguage experts" and all that thoroughly debunked horseshit. They expect everybody to be an absolute wreck sobbing all over themselves and wailing at the sky or something because that's what they've expect grief to feel like. People who've actually experienced grief know firsthand that the experience varies greatly from person to person. My best friend was cracking jokes at his father's funeral after his unexpected death due to a heart attack. According to those types of morons that means my best friend killed him when in reality he was just displaying a coping mechanism to put on a brave face. When we were alone together later that evening after everybody had left he collapsed in to my arms when the shock had finally lost its numbing effect.

Tears streaming down my face, absolutely devastating. I hope the devil is real so that this monster can feel his wrath in the end.

Love it as usual. I’d LOVE to see an isreal keys video tho!!!

It was about 30% (how egregious..!). He didn't even put compelling in the title, but if you don't consider a case like this compelling...

peetezaah

First video of yours I didn't really find interesting. Keep up the brilliant with tho!:)

The devil's in the detail.

Her family’s victim impact statements were incredible, I can tell just from that she was an amazing girl in a great family..it’s sad when evil wins

I logged into Patreon for the first time since joining (years ago) just to watch/support your content. I never thought much about interrogation analysis before seeing your videos on YouTube and suddenly I have an insatiable appetite for it. I find many videos on the subject quite distasteful, particularly those that focus on the lurid details for their own sake. What you're doing is essentially popularization of science, almost like you're the Carl Sagan of interrogation psychology. Now I'm going to get to work while binge watching everything you've ever produced. Congrats on figuring out how to get paid for something you're good at and presumably enjoy.

Wow 10k plus a month? You deserve it jim keep up the good work

William Abbott

Let him post whenever hese ready. Quality over quantity

Her life cannot be a waste by the actions of anyone because life never ends. She hasn’t stopped living by any means, nor anyone who was ejected from their vehicle prematurely, like she was. The Universe is not wasteful, and we cannot comprehend its intelligence with a human brain, period. I really hate it when people say this person’s or that person’s life was a waste because of the actions of some nitwit. I call bullshit. Don’t give power where it is not deserved, because you’re only pulling the wool over your own spectacles. Because life never ends, it is beautiful.

That was raw at the end from the family holy shit

Why was more than 20% of this video about the sentencing? This wasn’t a very compelling interrogation or case in general.

I wish there was a way we can make these monsters feel what they did to their victims. but we can't, and truthfully that's what separates us from them. jail and even the death penalty is mercy compared to what they deserve.

I said the same thing! And only a day and a half of deliberations?!

no no no, thank *you* for all the content, Jim & team!

hell ye

How the hell was there even a hung jury?? I can understand the gravity of being involved in a murder case and wanting to get it right, but this didn't seem like the one to be hesitant on

Thank you!

I cried my eyes out when the family was giving their testimony. I have read up on this case but not in such full detail. I'm glad this monster will never walk the streets.

Are there rules for this comment section? I watched this video while a bit buzzed and several comments upset me. I replied to them in an impolite manner. Am I gonna be banned? Haha. I’m all fucked up emotionally and not feeling these disrespectful comments.

Also. The fact that a literal piece of shit was able to snuff out such a bright, worthwhile life is nothing but tragic. That garbage human, who has nothing of value to offer to offer the world, still lives and breathes. And probably continues master bating to the thought of his crime. This is one of the saddest crimes Jim has converted.

you’re here to support to Jim. He has your money. You mad? Or nah?

Hahaha!!!!! Jim C. Swim, please ignore “Yasin.” This is a compelling video even though the interrogation was a small part of it. It’s fascinating to see a family dealing with this loss.

You deserve all the credit in the world, JCS Team. You all produce some incredible content that fills a niche I don't think is populated by anyone else. Keep the stuff coming and that number will keep growing!

petaloid_bract

What a total piece of shit. If I were her parents I would personally murder him.

Peter Sorensen

This situation is almost comically tragic. She could have not been a more perfect human being and the murderer's reason to kill could not be more fucking stupid. This is just the fucking worst.

Saint Vayu

As always Jim, another enlightening, thoughtful presentation - what an unbelievably tragic story. And an especially beautiful introduction that really captures what a vibrant, intelligent young woman Karina was. Edit: Still very hard to reconcile why animals like this kid exist.

Thanks Jim

Robert Leeson

People are crazy saying the mother & father were "suspicious" - people had their daughter brutally taken from this life, by a beast...why is there a "standard" for how they should react?

This is available on YT, what am I paying for here?.

boring video - not very interesting to watch despite the nature of the crimes. would suggest for more analysis of the interrogation tapes.

You can tell the mother is genuine when you look into her eyes. They tell the whole story

Saint Vayu

Such a heartbreaking case, she did nothing wrong except go for a jog.

Jonathan Berman

Right? I mean why would a god put the poor girl in that situation to begin with. Very strange yet very sad.

Pepe

Love ya Jim! Despite the dark content, your videos always make my day

Her family still believe in their sky daddy after this? That's silly...

proper Brooklyn accent... it is annoying though

The guy getting interrogated his mumbling was pissimg me off.

Congrats on 10K well deserved.

That mom was high as a kite lol

Thanks Jim! Always blessing us with such good content 🙌🏼

Would be interesting. I have a feeling that a lot of the things Richard Kuklinski claims to have done are made up extremely over-exaggerated.

YOU COULD REALLY DO ONE ABOUT HIRED KILLERS. THE ICE MAN MIGHT BE A VERY GOOD ONE.

Doktor650

I never clicked so fast in my life. Okay maybe when GoT trailers came out.

Doktor650

POST MORE CONTENT MORE OFTEN.

My least favorite video

I’ll never understand why TV news reporters report live from outside courts when they are closed and nobody is even in there.

Tony Mitchell

First one I ever sobbed for. What a sad thing to happen to that family, and by such a worthless creature as him, for no reason. Terrible.

AmandaCuckhold

Am I the only one who finds her mother's accent incredibly annoying? Otherwise great episode as always Jim!

Oh my gosh.. that father's speech. Still crying...so touch and so sad

The ted bendy video has a lot of audio issues, I hope Jim notices sometime soon!

What an evil, demonic, cowardly "man".

Jure Kralj

Jim's making movies now. Whatever next😊 I find your work exciting Jim

Good thing... that bad things happen, or we wouldn't have this good content...

Not My Real Name

Glad I’m not the only one !!

WE LOVE YOU JIM!!!!! Should be at 100k before long 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Awesome job on the video, im sure her family would be proud, thanks jim

Such an awful case I can't believe I've never heard of it. So gut wrenching hearing the parents

Julie Gray

Veritas- scroll down, lol. Took me a second too

What a piece of garbage. Great video, btw.

Joe Lewis

Me too

Why can i only see one

How did the first trial end in a hung jury? Confession and DNA evidence?!

These Queens accents are way too much lmfao

JackApollo

I'm watching both at once. MULTI-SCREEN SET-UP FTW

My question is, which one should I watch first??

thank you jim! i crave your content

Thank you to the team! Love these!

Abigail Ford

I was just thinking you were going to put something out soon. Thanks bud

Not My Real Name

Ugh, this happened near where I live and it is so painful to see her family on the news; they are completely broken-hearted. I can't imagine how awful it must have been for her dad to find her body.

Thank you!

Jordan Chervenkoff

Finally! Thank you!

Sal
