Canada's justice system is so strange. Cameron was sentenced to life in prison and yet Vince Li (Tim Baker as he goes by now lol) slaughtered a man in cold blood in probably the most brutal and despicable fashion with a machete, and traumatized an entire bus load of people, yet...he's free right now. Clearly both individuals were disturbed, but one locked up for life and the other is free after three years. Wild justice system we have over here.

Ok so in canada they tell the suspects the camera is rolling in the interrogation room at all times, im assuming they dont do this in the U.S. right ? Considering, like amber in the previous videos, she gave up so much whilst in that room without police just from the cameras rolling

Would love to see you do a video on those detectives in the Holtzclaw case. The female went out and tracked down every black female he’d pulled over and brought them in to ask if they’d been assaulted by him. The methods seem totally unethical and counterintuitive (some of the women were criminals and would have jumped at the chance to get some leverage...others initially said nothing happened only to come back later and change their story). Before the trial the case had become a race issue, and during the trial protestors could be heard inside the courtroom, which could have influenced the jury (fear of facing a mob of angry protestors if they didn’t get the verdict “right”). Would love your analysis on the techniques they used.

Me too. Poor kid will never get over having killed his dad. A friend of my son lost the plot on LSD, freaked out for hours in our house before attacking my son (fists only thankfully). I had to restrain him - was a very violent confrontation as he was strong but thankfully disoriented - and call the cops who came and took him home. He came over the next day once he'd sobered up and related what he had felt the night before, similar demonic visions to what Thomas had relayed. Terrifyingly, he told me how he'd seen our kitchen knives and had thought about attacking us and especially our dogs as he thought we were demonic aliens trying to imprison him. The cops were great, very sensitive and gentle with him. His mum also came over that day and I was frank about what happened, was very hard to discuss how I'd hurt her son in defence of my own. Thankfully there were no lasting injuries to anyone, just a few holes in our plasterboard from his freakout.

The Code is terrifying. I count myself so lucky in the sense that I have the benefit of being born into a first world country, and was blessed with circumstances here that lead me to building a career. I’ve had my fair share of idiocy and screw ups, but “by the grace of God go I” in the sense that I’ve never made a mistake that landed me in a correctional facility for any amount of time. In the 2nd part of the code (I think), a man is literally cooking the flesh of some unfortunate souls that ran afoul of the majority, and another man is laughing, stating “chuhascaria” - which is essentially a Brazilian barbecue establishment. That, my friends and fellow watchers, is the level of animal sociopathy humanity is capable of if the circumstances dictate. We have an innate capacity for mercy and love beyond rationality, but the bell curve also plumbs the depths of desperation and violence. We are a horrible, and simultaneously beautiful breed of being. Know that we’re beholden to one thing, ultimately; our ability to make our world worse or better for those around us based on choices.

well said. I never believed the justice system to be just, to me its more a form of ritual to appease society and a futile attempt by humans to create order and diversify ourselves from animals. What you can learn from all these videos is that human animal nature is a part of us and on occasions it bursts out in horrific manners.

Honestly I know this sounds bad but I totally feel for Clifford Burns. If you have ever been through the family court system and watched the other parent lie through their teeth about how you're an unfit parent and you just watch the court literally eat it all up...it is fkng maddening. Especially if the other side has a lawyer and you can't afford one. You stand no chance. I made the mistake of having children with a narcissist (I didn't realize this fact until many years later of course) and he put me and my children through absolute hell. Any parent who is willing to use their children as a tool to hurt the other parent, is a DESPICABLE person. And honestly I know there are tons of women who make false abuse claims against the father of their children just so they can get full custody and take the kids away from him just to have all the power/control and get lots of child support. The family court system favors manipulators and liars, very unfortunately. I would never actually hurt someone but I'm not gonna say that some of the things he said didn't resonate with me. There have been quite a few men who have committed suicide after years of going through family court and just losing everything no matter how good of a dad they actually are. This happens to women too, of course. It's a silent epidemic.

Update on Thomas Chan from vid #3: he was found guilty of manslaughter (father) and aggravated assault (partner) and sentenced to 5 years, though given credit for one year time served and another 6 months as he was held in solitary confinement for four months, which the judge disagreed with. I really love the Jeff video. I'd like to see more interrogations of suspects that are either not convicted or not charged. Wrongful convictions would also be fascinating. Maybe Brendan Dassey, whose apparent coerced confession was documented on Making a Murderer on Netflix.

Great series - I rewatched them all, but sorry - I couldn’t sit through the Kevin Gregson segment again (the Canadian cop killer). Don’t get me wrong, the analysis is incredibly interesting (as always, hence my sub) - but Gregson himself... I watch this stuff because I’m interested and want to broaden my understanding, but the anger I had after watching his self serving performance the first time was real. I can only hope he’s having a grand old time in jail - I’ve heard child abusing ex-cop’s don’t really have it that good in pen.

@Kamran and everyone talking about office Holtzclaw, I live near Tulsa OK and this hit the people in our state pretty hard. It is a tragedy what this guy has gone though. The lead detectives who set him up on this are the stupidest incompetent cops you would ever of known in real life and the women who testified against him were in it for the money. Some of them were caught on tape admitting their motives for a payout when they thought the camera was off and all this was thrown out as evidence for him. This young man has lost his life due to all this incompetence displayed through the legal system here, he has been hung out to dry, thrown under the buss and no one should have to go through this or lose their life in the process for how bad the legal system messed this up. Real criminals are let out of prison or dont even get convicted for lesser technicalities messed up by the police yet this young man lost his life because of it. If you research this and get all the real facts, not the limited story as told by most news outlets, you to will realize the injustice this man has received and what he has lost because of it.
