Live Streaming!

This is all working out so well, I can't believe it!  Over the past couple of weeks, we've been training the new staff in the shop, and as I sit here in my 'office/carving area' preparing this post, one of them is out there running a Print Party. Now that we've switched to a 'double staff' system in our shop - with me not having to be out on the floor all-day every-day - other projects are getting their chance.

And top amongst those is of course ... CARVING TIME!  I've spent more time at this bench in the past week or so than I did in the previous year! And now that it looks like I can hit a regular schedule, at least part of the day, it's time to start letting everybody else watch.

Yesterday we tested a new live streaming setup, and from today it's up and running. We now have a new Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/japaneseprintmaking

The initial schedule will be for me to do a 90-minute (or so) stream starting each morning at 8:00 Tokyo time, and I have just finished one of those. (I'm also going to try to do one in the evening too (better for Europeans), but I haven't settled on a particular time yet.) Anyway, for those who live in time zones where the live ones are not convenient, or who miss it, don't panic - Twitch archives each stream, and whenever you access our channel page, you either get the LIVE stream (if it's live), or a link to see it in REPLAY ('most recent video').

I understand they are going to store these things for around 14 days, so there should always be plenty for you to look at.

Please understand that these videos are not the most exciting things you are going to find on the internet - it's just my knife working its way around the design. When the streams are LIVE there is a chat window open, and if I can notice the messages (not easy while carving) I've been replying verbally to them (the stream is video+audio, and I wear a mic).

Please take a look ... and thank you again for being part of making this all possible!

Twitch lets you export your finished streams to youtube, you just have to enable it in the settings on both sites. Much better than losing them after 14 days ;).

It's when I read things like that that I find the magic in Patreon. Very glad you can focus on your work!
