Rinny's motivations during her second route

Hey all, I wrote this up to explain Rinny's motivations for a fan that wasn't happy with her during her second route. Figured it might be good to share with everyone.

Obviously huge spoiler warnings! Make sure you've completed Rinny's second route before reading!

---

Rinny is a succubus, so she is loyal to her queen. Therefore, whatever the queen wants, she has a duty to uphold. She also believes in much of the same things; she's a succubus, after all. The succubus milking prison is framed as being a bad place, but in the minds of the succubi, it's actually a reward for people that the queen favors. What happens to the people trapped in there is something that they consider to be the perfect happiness for them.

With that in mind, the queen allowed Rinny to be a jailer on the condition that she persuades the protagonist to stay. Most importantly, Rinny isn't a true succubus, and is technically unqualified to be here otherwise. Rinny also believes that this place is paradise for both her and the protagonist.

However, she does understand that the protagonist might not want this. Which is why she initially warned them about meeting the queen, and why she agrees to help them escape, even though she thinks that is a mistake.

From there until the fight with the queen, Rinny is put under considerable amounts of stress. She's been called out and humiliated for not being a true succubus (and therefore unworthy of being a jailer.) She's helping the protagonist escape despite believing they should stay and be happy. She's also disobeying the queen as well by helping the protagonist escape, when her job as jailer is supposed to be keeping the protagonist there. And now she has to face the queen's overwhelming power while still not knowing how she's meant to become a true succubus. She's uncertain whether she's doing the right thing, but she continues only because that's what the protagonist wants.

Eventually, she does become a true succubus, and becomes much more confident in herself. With this new confidence, she comes to trust her judgment that the protagonist is making a mistake and throwing away their happiness by trying to escape. That's why she then actively tried to prevent the protagonist from escaping by any means necessary.

> Rinny was captured by Edith, and she did not like it there - why does she not understand that her friend can feel the same?

It probably isn't clear, since this part was written many years ago, but the implication is that Edith tortures Rinny for her own sadistic pleasure, and doesn't necessarily take her needs into account. One big thing is that she denies Rinny orgasms and just keeps her on edge for hours, just for her amusement.

Whereas the succubus milking prison is catered to its prisoners' needs, and the 'torture' is really a front to pleasure them. That's the difference between the two. Edith is just making her victims suffer, whereas the prison is actually about fulfilling its inmates' sexual desires.

It's also arguable that the succubi/incubi view their duties as being the ones to 'serve', aka be the dommes (hence why prisoners in the milking prison don't get to be dommes.) So in their minds, it might not be right for them to be on the receiving ends.

Hell ya dude. Lookin foward to it!

Haha she only did it because she loves you XD. But yes, I'll try to think of some way to address that, since it does appear a number of people aren't satisfied with just forgiving her.

Indivi

Maybe when you decide to forgive her theres like a "passive aggressive" option. So dialogue is changed but you can do everything like before. After a while she'll start an interaction asking what she can do for you to forgive her. It could be anything like raise your stats, submit to a dungeon session, or something like that. Wouldn't be too much work but those are ideas. Cause at the moment I barley wanna interact with the fictional succubus that tried to backstab me 🤣😭

Ryan Campos

Yep, she got put through the ringer

L.R.Varnhagen

Hmm, I see. I'll probably not do a 'bitter' path as that'll be way more work than would be worth it, but I'll try to take this sort of thing into consideration for future content with her

Indivi

Hmm, maybe I can do it in a subtle way. I'll see. True succubus Rinny will come back at some point, but for now she's locked away.

Indivi

It's essentially implied that they do. Probably not immortal, but time does pass differently inside the dream world compared to reality.

Indivi

Not yet, but we'll bring out that side of her again at some point!

Indivi

Well, she's probably as good as anyone with handling stress. It's just that this was particular hard on her haha. And you're welcome!

Indivi

Definitely fine just to enjoy the ride!

Indivi

Good to hear! She'll definitely make a return at some point haha

Indivi

Oh it all makes sense. The only issue is I still hate her and can't bring myself to forgive her for it. If you add a mechanic where you can still work with her but now give bitter attitude to her that'd be awesome. Id have a way to show how I feel to her 🤣

Ryan Campos

huh... this feels like it should be in the game as a post Rinny2/Succubus Prison scene where you can ask Rinny why the heck she did what she did (maybe it can also function as a way to unlock awakend succubus rinny model? and the long haired JR succubusRinny forms?

W1lliam

Do all the other prisoners enjoy their stay? Are they immortal in there?

Lillie the flower lady

Would it be possible to give her the option to change her hairstyle when you change Rinny's outfit? As a little added bonus for completing the prison.

Andreas Losem

Same!

Thanks, this Clears a lot, it helps to consider the fact that rinny never truly meant harm at any point and isn't that great at handling continuous incidents of increasing stress and as for her reaction for being captured by Edith, she got left alone with her for a good while and if we look at the bad ending Edith getting what she wants with no consequences is scary as she basically tortures/fucks someone for her amusement giving them no reprieve constantly breaking them till they collapse then she starts it up again. I also understand why she chose to keep the protagonist captive as she was already past her breaking point, fighting someone who's effectively your supreme ruler in a dream world where they are effectively invincible, constantly getting her ass kicked as a response to her running from what she considers paradise will mess up a person. Thanks for clearing that up it is really an informative read

L.R.Varnhagen

Interesting, I never really thought that deep about the prison, and I understood why Rinny did what she did. But thanks for the free lore drop
